2XU ??

Don't get it...

Hey, topped up the nute solution for the tomater--added 3qt, with 12 drops of bleach. Let it sit out for 60-90 min to take the edge off a little, and no problems. Roots continue to grow, and are not even bleachy-white. More like a cream-color. The res / roots smell very fresh, not chemical. Sorta like radishes.

People seem to find using bleach like this horrifying for some reason. I wonder what they think they've been drinking?

I guess you have to wait for me to catch up so we can get to mid-game.

I wonder what/if they think.

You then said, (out of context), "they've been drinking."
No doubt!
These folks have never known the joy of "catchment water" or green swimming pools.
My Boy Scout training had us carry tincture of Iodine to disinfect standing water.
Now I'm wondering what cannabis would make of Iodine, or Bromine for that matter.
Crap!
Now I got more reading to do.

Toodles!

Off to bed I must trundle.
Mrs. 'zard is takin' her colon bowlin' tomorrow :asskick: and I get to drive, and point, and laugh.

No worry. they usually give Versed with Valium.
It's a better amnesiac then Jaegermeister.

Hooray!

I was about to recount to some of my newly acquired skeptics the use of "water disinfectant tablets" that usta come with the little camping mess kits. Little tiny, soft white pills IF I am remembering them correctly. I remember hunting up some skanky pond water to test them out before my parental units (likewise not amused--recalling your magnetization experiment) interrupted my research. :(

What the heck were those things? That's another possibility for res maintenance.

This bleach is doing the trick. I'm just not sure how slowly it degrades in a dark bubblebucket. Chlorine added to a swimming pool will "cool off" within ~72 hours if there's sufficient sun, heat, and wind. Takes twice that long without.

5 drops per gallon wouldn't bring a growing funk problem under control.
10 drops per gallon worked, but was too strong for the plant.
(I'm probably going to have to do this in metric or these barleycorn measurements are gonna drive me nuts.)

Adding 12 drops (total) this top-up caused no problem.

That's all I know so far, but I'm zeroing in on it.

Time to check da BP, brah.
No go stupid on me now.

Funny you should mention. Arthritis flared up and my foot looks like Fred Flintstone. Very painful, although a harmless part of the recovery process. Can't walk right, though. Can't sleep either, and it's been hard to concentrate for 2 days now.

I can't find a pawn that can move to Q4. QB4 maybe? Or I screwed up the board again. All is well, otherwise. Fun playing with the buckets.

Best to the wife.

She was not the key though. More of a supporting player.
The beginning of that combination was the center pawn advance.

This game will be even more fun.
'cause it is said;
"If you wish an interesting game, play P -K4.
If you wish to win, P - Q4"

So, P - K4 is my reply.
Took me a while.

Black resigns in shame and chagrin.:o:(

Went back over this last debacle and watched my IQ steadily drop to well below room temperature.

That's actually very good news:thumbsup:.

The tanning booth is a GO!
Smoked Cogito for the second-last game.
Very ripped, but functional.

Started the last game with G13-BB indoors no UV.
Opening was peachy.
Switched to the 4 hour UV blasted G13-BB.

Fingers turned to wet ropes.
Dozens of typos, spent half my time editing and still getting it wrong.
Could not even add analysis notes.
(Feel like I let ya down.)

I'll label this batch "let's get stupid". :stoned:

This will have to serve as my excuse for that last mess of a game. Well, that and your quick grasp.:)

So, yes, short exposures to Sunlight just before chop does modify da high.
The trick seems to be over-ripening the girls to "all cloudy" under leds, then flashing all the caps at once with UV.
I'll try the 2 hour "tan" tonight.
Shooting for a happy medium 'tween zoom n thud.

Here's an Idea.
Now that you know the game.
How about appending a small tag to the post identifying the inebriant/s in effect at the time?

It's all useful information, yah?

Hey if you had 10 or 12 dem 5w fars, would you put 'em on a small brick, or a short lightsicle? I'm wanting to build on an air-cooled aluminum channel platform, but a brick seems more versatile in terms of deployment.

Found some Al stock (common hardware) that's an "L" profile. Could mount addtl sinks behind each emitter and then join 2 L's to make a rectangular channel. Exhaust the channel with a case fan (maybe 2 x 40mm). Well, a lightsicle, without the control box.

Seems like 50-60W @7:35 would approximate the halogens people are playing with lately....

Chlorine bleach is the weapon of choice for maintaining residential catchment human drinking water supplies.

It's starting to look to me like the primary effect of far-red is telling the plant its got lotsa nearby neighbors, and to stretch to outgrow them.

I'm seeing a lot of anecdotal evidence--and reasoning that I suspect is based on faulty premises in regard to the red / far-red connection.

This is from Physicsnole (old). Have you encountered any supporting studies? For one thing, is this talking about intiating flower, or maintaining it? Both?

I would like to believe this stuff. And Leadenjin must have a reason for offering 735's. But wanting to believe it may be clouding some judgements. What do you think?

With 735nm far-red/near-infrared emitters available then it's possible to flower cannabis with 15 hours 'daylight'. How? Why? Well, the plant senses that critical 12-hours-darkness that triggers flowering in cannabis because a critical amount of phytochrome-FR has slowly, naturally, reverted to phytochrome-R during the dark cycle. But during the 'day' 660nm red light converts the phyto-R into phyto-FR, while far-red 735nm light more slowly converts the phyto-FR back to phyto-R. So we run all lights for 15 hours, then run nothing but 735nm for another two hours and finally 7 hours darkness.- artificially driving much of the phyto-FR back to phyto-R without waiting 12 hours for the natural reversion- so you can actually flower with shorter nights.

Weezard
10-24-2009, 01:10 AM
As it turned out, it's just not that simple.:(
The theory is sound.
The phytochrome conversion is fact.

Alas, it is but one of several triggers, so, in practice, this did not fly. It barely limped.
There's also a bio-clock involved, so gains from Far red are not as impressive as we hoped.
Some othe processes are involved that still take about 12 hours of darkness to complete.
Got a paper on it somewhere.
If it turns up, it's yours.
(Though I'm guessing that you will find it before I do.):stoned:

I suspect that L.E. is just responding to demand.

The hucksters, are slapping 735s, n skyfire orange, n umpty shades of white on their lights and they are all hardwired together. :wtf:
Almost useless, from my experiments.

The Far-reds need to be started just before lights out, and only need to run for 45 minutes or so to do a full conversion.

Still no gotta be useful to be marketable, yah.

It's a funny world.

26" X 8' clear Polycarbonate.
Flimsy, flat, panels.
Laid the sideways with an overlap.
Tied plastic rope loops through the cage, about 10" down both sides.
(Soft rope won't cut into the panels)
Then shoved a ridge "pole" up in the middle, to provide an even tension and bow the panels. for strength and run-off.
Don't need much slope, never snows.
I try to design everything as a "one man", low-rent, greenest kine, labor free, construct.

Kinda reminds me of our first house <snif>. Looks like that roof prolly leaks less than ours did, though. :(

The first pictures looked kinda raggedy.
That first tie is just to let the sum warm all da kinks from da ropes under load.
Then I re-tensioned and relifted.
Damn good lookin' now.

Wiping up the drool around the board...
Goodness! Thought it would be an interesting experiment to try to wolf down a whole joint of my one-hit wonder couchlock. Made me stoopid! "Uplifting, inspirational"... not hardly. Great for pain and insomnia, which is a blessing for me. Not a suitable recreational strain, apparently.

Starting back with post #710's diagram:

[attachment=o230240]

We've played:

W.: B - Q3
DH: N x P
W.: B x P
DH: N - K6 (first time through I had moved P-Q5 (Post#715))
W.: K - KB2
DH: N - KB4 (I miscalled that one as N-Q4 --figgered you caught it; I have a pawn at Q4 already)
W.: K - KB3
DH: N - K2
W.: B - Q3
DH: N - QB3

Which takes us to this:

[attachment=o230241]

If that looks right to you, your latest move ( K - K4) would put you in check.

Please take a look and substitute an alternate reality as desired. I was liking my pawn being a square closer to pay dirt, but he's also useful at Q4 in frustrating your king. So, whatever.

I apologize for my incompetence. Reconstructing our play over the last few moves has been instructional in its own way, though. Bear with me and I'll try to give you a decent game one of these months...Hermie
