I have cricket wireless... now you're worrying me :(
A few questions:
1) You said this guy was a huge dealer, correct? The whole nine yards?
2) Do you know what it was that he said over the phone?
3) Are you sure it's just a cricket wireless problem, or can this happen on any service?

It's a coinsidence. They would have to get a warrant to tap a dealers phone, unless they could connect him with terrorism, then, they wouldn't need a warrant. So, if they really did tap his phone, or intercept the signal, then its for other reasons (not cricket)and they could have done it if the guy has any of the cell services.

Yea, that's what I'm thinking, if this guy had a huge operation taking place, the government got a warrant to tap (Or didn't, seeing as how they don't feel the need to respect our rights (don't talk bong30) and just tapped warrantless) and they found out due to that. That could happen on any network. The moral here is, don't run huge drug operations.

the government are tapping everyones phones, it's obvious, it wouldn't make sense if they weren't, they only do something if it's serious, like a terror attack, a HUGE drug deal, or they've tracked a persistent dealer, I know as I used to buy from somewhere and one day after I received the call, I saw police cars pulling over slowly to the spot.Maybe someone tipped them off, but they know where you are, especially cause of the oyster card in England

not a victim to the phone tapping and never heard of cricket wireless. i agree with dusto they would need a warrant. but in law all it takes is a good suspicion and that warrant is there. in all honesty we know they can do as they please and even if its a horrible thing they really wont get in trouble. and my understanding with cell phones is, it is much easier for police to get a warrant for cell phone records. than it ever will be to put a tap on ur home phone. with our constitutional rights our home is the hardest thing to invade ur phone being part of ur home! these cell phones r trouble pure trouble. i remember when nobody had cell phones and everything went smooth. one guy ran my city for like 10 years with no worries. had 4 or 5 pagers and thats all u needed. no way to track which phone ur using or hard to follow u cause they cant pick up ur location. and since these cells ive seen more people go down in the last 5 years than i will prob ever see in the rest of my life. so BE CAREFUL! oh and also not sure of this but ive heard that nextel is funded by the federal government. it was originally a tool used by them to communicate on a closed channel. but then they realized wow we could bust everybody if we let them use these because they could tap their own radio frequency without a warrant!!!!!! so be safe and smart!!!!

I think most of you "government out to get me" people need to stop smoking the weed. To listen to everyones phone calls would take as many people who are making them. Think about how many cell phones + land lines + VoIP numbers there are. Unless someone narked you out as a drug dealer do not worry. And unless your funneling the money back to support terrorism the case wouldn't hold up in court without a warrant.

We all know what the nazis did........DO NOT think that this type of insultive garbage is going to be permitted in here under any circumstance. You want to throw this type of insult towards a politician or political system, fine, not at a member any longer.

Back to the topic.........the key word here is wireless. Check out the laws for yourself....if you use a wireless phone the Supreme Court has found that this is transmitted on "OPEN" air waves and isn't considered a wire tap. Whether its any cell phone or wireless home phone.........watch what you say.
Have a good one!:s4:

kidding? so they can just sit there and monitor everything. WTF, there has to be something to defend against that.

Its illegal for scanners to scan the frequency of cordless phones. As for cell phones, they operate much like wireless internet using WEP encryption. Unless someone has your phone ID to make a "clone" listening in would be next to impossable with todays digital phones. When one gets a warrent or wants to listen in to your cell phone they need to do it from a CO location, or clone your phone. Baby scanners no longer work.

When I lived in Iowa a dude got busted over information gathered from conversations recorded by the cops. The cop was able to pick up the convo on their radio and the courts sided with the police stating that wireless phones transmit on open air waves and need no wire tap so it didn't infringe on privacy acts.
That was back in the early 90's.......now unless laws have changed, I'd just play it safe.

I just take the "Oldschool" Idea...Never say anything that you don't want anyone else to here over ANY phone line!! weather its a land line, wireless or cellphone its still a network!! and as edvidenced by the FBI "wiretapping" scandal that just hit the news this week, and the fact that no network is "Totally" secure, I never discuss anything that may considerd "Illeagal" unless it is in person!

Just so you know, anyone with a radio license can listen in on Cell Phone Conversations LEGALLY. There is no law protecting cell phone transmitions because they are broadcast over public airwaves.
If you want to keep the conversation to yourself and the other person hearing, use a public Landline. There is no privacy in Cellular Communications.

LMAO, I had a cell phone for about 3 months, used it about 3 times, finally gave it to my daughter. They are good for emergency situations, car breakdown etc, but as far as an Item of communication with friends, I use the land line, call me old school!

if they find something from somehow tapping ur phone without a warrant, could anything found be used against u in court? is there anyway to fight the warrant/subpeona to tap your phones or even to arrest you? or are those actions behind closed doors?

Listen to the Psycho He knows what's up. If they want to bust your little Ass they will cheat and steal just like a thief or junkie to bust your ass. Any phone is open territory. Even if they dont have warrants they will listen and bust you up some other way. CODE??? That is to funny you don't think they know are codes? We do our jobs and they do there's. My friend was just locked up 2 weeks ago. They busted him W/ 5 phones. the Narc that grabbed him only had 4 he was mad he had more. When they go UCover they go deep 14 -15 Yrs under Cvr. Come on walk the line and know what your losses may be but don't BULLSHIT YOURSELF. Look @ this they are not supposed to use Infrared but they can just tell a neighbor whats going on. Then they talk your neighbor into signing a Doc saying they seen you walk in with a plant. WARRANT ISSUED now your pinched. When you walk in fear people know. When you act like you are doing wrong people watch when you do things like it is OK then you will be OK. Phones are a crazy issue not safe haven't been since the 50's. We were born knowing they are not good why would they be good now?

What about simple things though that most smokers engage in among friends like asking "do you want to come over and smoke?" or buying & selling of relatively small amounts like under an ounce? Do you really think they're listening for stuff that level? Something I've wondered.

i'm going to start this off right. i dont have any real evidence. not one concrete detail. but...
ive heard that cricket is actually a government company. and if you hear about the prices for cricket cellular it makes you start to wonder.
i talked to a guy who had everything you can do, unlimited internet, text, and calls for $50 a month. that price would never go up, never ever.
he was saving over a $100 a month from his old company... why is cricket so cheap... who can afford rediculously low prices...
i once went to meet a dealer. a guy i knew well. i wasnt buying anything but i was wrapped up in the situation. as soon as we got there, as soon as the car turned off, cops jumped us and arrested us all. how did they know?
-

and yeah the guy had a cricket phone...

Well it sounds like boost...cricket,boost. It is not to hard to hear chirps and conversations. Just findin the right frequency and if you have them 2mile range walkie talkies. You can come across people phone conversations usually. Also not to get in to details, We was using boost alil time back and lets say police were on to us. They were places that were only said we was gonna go over tha phone, But we are also not newbs to street life so we ditched that idea with the phones. Than a few weeks later they started to make there way round are area, For people out to late and that kinda stuff but I noticed one thing they were always checking peoples phones.:wtf: Brand, msg, numbers. Then one of the cops came down there one day an just started telling us certain shit to keep us out of hot water:D... Come to find out when there was a :rambo:big call down on the street we was on:rambohead:. According to his supervisor we were not the only people he was helping. His Sarg. came down yelling at him"This is not the 1st or 2nd time I have heard that from people in the community" cause the lady told the police he was tippin us off:S4:. Well everything worked out good in the long run, But I am wery of cricket/boost all tha same to me...Its hot right now Feds got tha phone tapped can ya hear me now...?
But I would definitely spend an extra few dollars to keep my freedom.
