Another rant about driving. Use the slow lane.

Does anyone use fucking cruise control anymore? I'm driving along the interstate at 73 mph in the slow lane when I pass the jackass going slow in the fast lane. It was a black SUV, with the kids watching tv in the back.

About 3-5 minutes later the same car passes me with a long line behind him. So I have all kinds of people now cutting me off to get around the jerk off. I speed up to block people from pulling out in front of me and honk my horn and flash my brights at the guy in the fucking SUV. Trying to tell him to get is ass into the right lane. He doesn't move. So I speed up to about 80 to get around the douchbag so every one can pass him up. :S4:

This happens several more times.

Than later I had a corrections officer speed up to pass me and what happens, he slows down to match my speed and won't fucking pass. I'm sorry, but I don't like driving right next to someone doing 70 if it is avoidable. So flip out and look in his window screaming for him to pass me already. I guess he got the hint, because he did speed up.

The whole time I was wishing I had my pipe on me.

I got home and smoked a fat bowl. :S5: All's good in the world now.

I used to be like that, all into what's going on, on the road.

Now I just get lost in the music and drive on. It's too petty for me to stress over. ~

one time i was going 85 on I-4 in florida and a guy flipped me off and passed me cuz i had out of state plates i assume...lol what an @$$

agree with the plant man here. gets to me more when not blazed. then it is like it is called common sense you fucking pricks, you are not the only people on the road show some consideration. really irritating. just let the bud connect you to those speakers you have wrapped around you let them do what they do and forget it

thats why im building my own motor, to go in an older chevy muscle car... that just a tap on the gas, and the dual 4 barel carbs open up, all 8 cylenders working together, to turn gallons of gasoline into a flame... producing exaust going out dual flowmaster exausht pipes.... giving me anyplace from 350 to 700 horse power... alowing me to pass anycars i want to... and allowing me, to go fucking fast... to get me place in twice the time....

whilst visiting florida i was given a ticket for speeding,then 2 mins later was pulled up by a different cop (because i didnt move over) for going to slow,i told the cop your laws are shit and i was going to walk, so i get out the car and start walking,then he tells me it against the law to walk on the I, so i got on my hands and knees and crawl, he laughed and said theres no law against that.with conflicting laws like that i'm not surprised you got a load of people who dont know how to drive.:jointsmile:

i was just saying.... the motor im building... is going to be capable of not having to sit around behind a car doing 45 in a 55... because of the fact of on coming traffic... can i have a signed contract of this bet... ill bet every thing in my posision right now... except for my meds(i need them) that the motor will be done when the monney comes in...

That is why I ride a motorcycle so I do not have to be stuck in traffic with all the selfcentered assholes that honestly believe the world revolves around them.
This is Los Angeles, the most rude city in the world when it comes to drivers and when I am in the car I am miserable. And what is worse is I do not like to drive a car when I am stoned, I have to wait until I get home or to my destination before I can fire it up. But I toke it up before I get on my motorcycle though because that is where it works the best. Being stoned and riding is awesome, being stoned and driving is a nightmare I can do without.

I was on I-77 on my way to work one morning and decided to pass this truck that was going way to slow. So Im about to pass him and he speeds up to match my speed. I go a little faster, so does he, I slow down to get back behind him, guess what so does he. I looked over there at him and he was laughing and flipping me the bird. My exit was comming up pretty quick and I was getting pissed. So I floored it, and barley made it to my exit.
It pisses me off so bad when you are going to pass someone and they speed up to stop you from doing it.

I've wanted to become a cop before just for bad drivers. If you can't drive above 65 mph, then don't get in the interstate. I HATE people who don't get over. I swear I'm gonna have a heart attack driving down I4. It seems no one underdtands the fast-lane slow lane bit. Its so simple. If you're going slower than other traffic, get in the far right lane. Use the left lanes for passing only.

Another thing I hate...People who drive 3 feet behind cars. I allways see them in front of me tapping the brakes while going 80. Like I said, I hatet slow drivers, but I don't ride asses. This just gets under my skin like crazy.

and to the guy who sent me a half dozen MSN messages, about me not knowing shit about cars... first off.... ive grown up around more cars, then most people in their 70's and 80's... and i plan on owning a car garage... anyways.... heres a link to a brand new crate engine.... its missing a few parts.... but its at Brand New Chevrolet 350, 350 cubic inch, 249 horsepower Crate Engine... thats right at 249 HP... and thats with some basic parts added to make it complet... if you add the corect parts... it will boost the horse power... to 300plus... thats only a 350 SBC

People suck. I've always wanted to use one of those cool pit moves on some random asshole driving like shit.

lol unless you got some really powerful car, and training, you'd more than likely only send them into a fishtail that they were able to maintain while you go spinning around in circles, and eventually wiping the fuck out...

the cops make it look easy, and it's not... everything has to be near-perfect... find some training videos, were one of the cops in training is just starting to try and learn it.... 9 times outta 10, they're the ones getting wiped the hell out...

that would be the number one reason why im not just going to get in my car, and throw the gas to the floor... im going to get in it... and find the perfect positon for my pedal, for the best lanch with out making my wheels spin for a mile down the road.. you just basicaly need to find the correct positoin on the gas... to keep the wheels from spining... also the correct gear ratio in the rear end... and posi, will help...(on newwer cars... traction control helps out a bit to)

Road rage is a serious problem today. There have been many instances in my life where I've succumbed to it or felt it's wrath.

Luckily for me the worst that's ever come of it, was the time I traded fists with an asshole truckdriver who cut me off.

In hindsight, it could have been a lot worse. Now I take public transportation whenever possible. Far less stress.

That's why I often have a puff or two before I drive, as long as it isn't dark and I know where I am going. Then I don't feel so reactive emotionally- I just drive...lalala
I also minimize stress by giving myself PLENTY of time to get where I need to go, because I freak if I am running late.

Drivers are getting worse because of things like cellphones and a general lack of civility. It's better to miss an exit than to get run off the road by some madman.

Passing lane usage, the purpose of blinkers, and the concept of right-of-way-are these even taught in drivers ed anymore? Or do people just think it doesn't really apply?

And seatbelts- I rant to my students- if you don't war a seat belt you are just a knucklehead trying to look cool! You have a much greater chance of living, and that is always a good thing to ensure.

Cars are just vehicles to me. I've been in some very exotic types, (my first husband back in the day was an exotic car dealer and we rode around LA in whatever we wanted, we thought we were hotshit) but the important thing to me now is that all the parts work. I just want it to start and go and stop, nothing too fancy. I do want my next car to be a hybrid so I don't feel so much like a planet-murderer, but it has to be big enough to carry two kids and lots of stuff.

A friend of mine, in his 60's has an advanced driving licence, the same thing cops have got. He's only got a shitty old Rover, but damn, he drives fast EVERYWHERE. In Norfolk [where he lives and where i work] theres loads of really narrow country lanes, some of them are even down to single lanes and you gotta toot the horn to let people know your there, and he speeds everywhere. He's ragging his car around faster than i ever would dream to. It's fun being a passanger with him, but scary when you can see whats comming the other way and he's driving a 60 around a corner.

People here in the US are SO lucky I'm not in charge of the Dept. of Transportation....You would be able to buy a 2 year old SUV for 1000 bucks, there would be so many on the used car market!!!
