Report: US discussing strikes on Iran

LONDON â?? Pentagon officials are said to be discussing possible military action to neutralize Iran's nuclear weapons threat, according to a report in London's Observer. US administration sources are quoted as saying that air strikes â?? "either by the US or Israel" â?? to wipe out Iran's fledgling nuclear program would be difficult because of a lack of clear intelligence about where key components are located.

Instead, sources quoted by the paper said the Pentagon is considering strikes in support of regime change, including attacks on the leadership, as well as on political and security targets

The new "modeling" at the Pentagon, with its shift in emphasis from suspected nuclear sites to political target lists, is said to be causing deep anxiety among officials in Britain, France, and Germany, who last week appeared to have negotiated a deal with Teheran to cease work that could contribute to a nuclear weapons program. But Washington is said to be skeptical about the deal.

Iran has a deal to stop it's nuke building in place and already accepted by Britain, Germany and France. I doubt we will be going into Iran any time soon. The Sudan maybe, but not Iran.

If we're going to strike...we'd better do it soon before they get nukes...no need for troops, just a few days of gps guided bunker busting "shock and awe" ought to set them back a decade or two.

Don't need to worry about it, Lib Toke has the inside scope, he knows more than the people there. I really need to start getting all my opinion BS from him, screw the propaganda facts. It's LT's opinion that is the only non propaganda truth and for real acceptable version. The US was not talking about invading Iran has no intentions of invading Iran because LT knows more than the people involved. Who knew? Who coulda figured? Don't think so? I'm sure we have lots of plans, for lots of screwed up stuff. I was just saying that with the new deal it looks as if there may not be a war in Iran. I was also saying that it looks like the Sudan may have a better chance at military action then Iran. If you don't want people to comment on what you post, why do you post it?

Maybe my opinion is wrong. I guess we will know if it happens. The cool thing about personal opinions is you can change them later if you find out you may be wrong. If you claim something is fact, and later you find out your wrong, then your in a little different situation. If you believe opinion is fact, then your, well, you figure it out!
