Break Up help please.

So yeah, I'm in a long distance relationship that I am no longer happy with. I find myself stressed out and I think its time to break up. She is very emotionally unstable and she has told me that she stopped cutting herself because I came into her life. This just puts more pressure on me. I wont get to see her again for a long time and I have to do it soon or I'll end up doing bad in school because I am so stressed out. Thus, it has to be over the phone. Can anyone help me with what to say, because the last thing i want is her to bleed to death. I need to make it easy on both of us, and I need to make it fast. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...:(

Theres really only 2 ways to break up. Be an asshole, or be as nice as you can. Obviously you've chosen to go with the latter.

Maybe you could make up an excuse...a reason why you had to break up with her.

Other than that, theres not much else you can do.

Jesus...you're in a tough situation. Is she getting any professional help? Because as much as she'd like to think that you're responsible for her happiness, she needs to be able to cope with pain that comes with life without hurting herself. She really needs serious help.

I'm sorry I can't offer any advise on how to break up with her since I have never met anyone who cut themselves but whatever you do, I would do it gently as possible and maybe you could offer to still be her friend.

Yeah she sees a therapist. Still I feel it needs to be done promptly or I will have some problems. My mom wants me to do well in school and I do too , but I have been way to distracted with her.

DAMN I just called her and now shes three-waying me with a friend. I cant do it with her friend on the phone. x.x.

Oh man...you should just e-mail her or something. Maybe you can tell her that your mom doesn't approve of you seeing her or dating anyone at the moment because of your grades???

Yeah I think Im going to use my grades as an excuse. I feel but it needs to be done.

yeah... my friend was in the same situation... you just have to tell her your only one person and that cutting herself is rediculous... you she call her mom up and tell her she needs help orsomething.

So true. I can't stand these kind of people. This is why I try my best to not bitch about anything, and I don't. If I were to bitch about anything I'd feel like some emo who doesn't have real problems.

Theres a diff. between teens acting depressd and real depression. I cant see how you can hate real depressed people. I mean..its not their fault.

Yup. Don't hate on people because they can't help it. Some people just can't help the way they are.
But a big difference there is acting vs. chemical unbalance.
If she's doing it for attention thats bad. I wonder how old she is to be doing this.
Maybe they had a tough life (its all subjective really). Or depression runs in thier family. If its none of the above, then I don't know what to say to someone like that.
You are in a tough situation though, I think the best thing is to help her as much as you can, then break up with her but still be her friend, that way you don't feel bad and she won't feel like ur ditching her because you can't handle her.

See i'm not knocking someone who has a chemical imbalance, hell i'm bipolar and i'm court ordered to take ALLLLLLL sorts of pills every day, serequil (1,000 MG) Yes it's alot but it doesn't make me sleepy anymore, lithium (2 doses of 250 mg a day), trazadone (100 mg). So I know chemical imbalances but nowadays there are just so many teenagers and younger people who bitch and bitch about how bad their life sucks. Most wouldn't know real pain if it bit em' in the ass. I mean come on, your gonna kill yourself or mutalate yourself because of a bad relationship? Come on! You selfish fucker, do it and save everyone the problems and make sure you don't make a mess. But ANYWHO....

Self mutilation could be many of possible reasons. I agree with you that sm is stupid if you're doing it over bad breakup. Lets say problems run deeper than that. Lets put things into perspective and say that not only a bad breakup but everything in their life has fucked up.
But what do you say to someone who does it for attention? I'd say they're seriously messed up in the head.
