1500th post .... my latest rant ...
for my 1500th post, I thought I'd do something a bit different, and just say hello to everyone ... I truly hope we can get our medical marijuana accepted worldwide, and do away with the harsh, arcane laws that lock up, and mistreat honest, decent people ... I also hope everyone, particularly the younger people, realize that this will likely never happen, if we don't clean up our act ... the 'dumb stoner' and 'street thug/dope dealer' images MUST be made a thing of the past ... politicians pay no attention to pot-smokers, they privately joke about how we are a non-existent voting bloc, that we are probably too stoned, to make it to the voting booths, and, since we are a bunch of lazy-ass stoners, we donate no money to their campaigns ... as much as you may detest politicians, MONEY TALKS ... no getting around it ... supporting groups such as MPP (Marijuana Policy Project), or NORML, etc. rquires cash .. they can't fly representative activists all over the country for free ... if you can't contribute your money, then contribute with your attitude and image ... present a decent, honest, 'good-citizen' aura to your neighbors and acquaintences ... good luck to all with your crops, and have a wonderful day ! ... :D

yes, I had read that earlier ... I'm pretty divided over the MJ 'dispensary' issue ... the very few 'dispensaries' I have knowledge of, are the phony 'front' dispensaries that have been on the TV news, busted for selling to anyone that walked in the door with cash ... I feel a medical MJ user can easily grow his own, or get it from a friend that grows, everybody knows at least one 'source', I suspect ... the medical MJ 'dispensaries' I have checked out, charged more $$ for herb, than the local street prices, which lead me to believe they are just in it for the money ... no surprise there, (my local liquor store was opened to turn a profit, too) ... either way, the crooked ones ruin it for everyone, and feed more fuel to the pot-haters ... :smokin:

I would agree 100% with these facts. However i do belive we have to take an extreme side of view. Because we cant sit in the middle and say Medicinal puposes only because that just makes me upset. I dont have an excuse for using mary j besides the fact that in my depressing life it brings me joy and excitment. Mary J my lover...lol. Ok, u talk about the "hoodlum" side of things, well thats because its illegal and desperate times call for deperate mesures. If i could go buy bud down the street i will, but if i have to venture into a dirty city i will, because we go where we can find it. I belive it is the governments fault for this and that there is more crime associated with pot because of the meer fact its illegal. If it were legal we would have no reason to hide or buy from the shady crack dealer. The image of pot users must be first let known to the pubic that it doesnt start crime, but it does revolve around it because what it is. I dont belive in supporting crime so i dont buy pot anymore, i do the econmical and depending how you look at it, more civilized way of obtaining it, grow. I dont support crime this way, i doubt a cop would ever look at it that way. Its just like the prohibition act. which is why i dont see how its not legal yet. from a gov stand point it would rid of money trafficing by crimelords, and they could tax it. Why give the money to the ppl who use it for crime.

I agree with both of you guys, but intill we can educate poeple that there is
more of advantage to legalizeing it and stop putting poeole in jail for some thing that god made not man. crime will go down some and the drug lords will not have a market for there billon dollare industry. And the DEA can spent our money on stopping the real drugs that are man made and cause more trouble
and crime.Where do you start.

You know, I'd like to bring to light the fact that, in addition to spreading a 'good-citizen' aura and actions... we can also show the world the real, honest and resposible types of growers we are.
Where?
On this site! :)
We're not a bunch of stoned sacks of human "stuff".
No sir.
Darn... time to go for now.
Peace iReaper....

Funny thing the other day, I was driving my car after having had a drink in a bar. Now mind you this is the first time I have EVER had a drink and got behind the wheel. I drank water played darts and all that good jazz.
I got pulled over and to my great joy I blew a triple 0 on the breath alyzer. Now I am a med patient and had all my paperwork in order. I had a very small amount of seeds in a small ziplock that I didn't really care about. (or they wouldn't have been on my floor board) The officer found the seeds and started to question me about them. Well when I pointed out the fact that I was a MMJ patient, and he said, but why do you need seeds?
The cop actually thought that my Dr was providing me with MJ. I finally had to quote the RCW 69.51A (if you are a patient you should know your laws of your home state this well, it really does pay off) and tell him that the dr only provided me with a piece of paper and that I had to grow my own medicine.
He called it into dispatch while I sat in the back of the car in cuffs.
I had to point out to him that if I didn't grow my own medicine, I would have to go to the street dealers as there is no dispensery in WA state.
(boy was he pissed that he had to give back all my glass pipes and the seeds and stuff  )
We have to educate not only ourselfs as patients or citizens, but also our law enforcement and politicians as well. I worked for a patient group for the better part of the last year, and most of them were terrible growers. They had to go to the streets as well.
Get involved with your local groups where ever you are. You know after some digging around that some counties in WA state don't even know that there was a MMJ law passed? They have been putting patients in jail for the last 8 years.
Though education and motivation anything is possible. Write letters, send emails, make phone calls, or donate time to groups.
Ok now I'm just rambling but I want to say that I really agree with the image reaper, if we all run around smoking J's with fingers stained orange from cheetos and making street deals, nothing is going to get better.
Now if only we could do something about club sluts and their attire......
but that is for a diff rant.
Thanks for listening,
Winks

GREAT story  ... glad you were released, after the hassle ... I noticed the cop was pissed about not being able to complete his 'bust' ... jerk must be fond of meaningless paperwork :p ... maybe if he kept busier protecting lives, and watching out for REAL crime, he wouldn't get so bored ... good luck to ya ... :smokin:

lol...
but seriously we- everyone- growers, med users, rec users, law enforcement, and everyone who doesn't fit neatly into any of those categories- needs to educated themselves and others, and be open to questions.
Even just reminding others that while they may consider it a crime, cannabis cultivation and use is by itself a truly victimless crime... it's all of the aspects of the illegality of commerce in it that brings the unsavory element out.
Just telling someone that while you respect their decision not to use cannabis personally, they should also respect your right to do so.
Now where have we heard this before? :D
And Latewood... are you serious? No kidding! Aww, I'm blushing!

"mod" is from the 1960s and 1970s Great Britain ... the 'mods' were the Carnaby Street fashion-heads, and the "rockers" were the rougher, motorcycle riding types ... I guess thats what they mean ;) ... I'm more of a 'rocker' than a 'mod' ... :D

~Image Reaper~
Hello.
I whole-heartedly agree with your 'rant.' I have tried to avoid preaching to these 'kids' about the importance of portraying yourself in a positive light to gain respect and take the stigma off of Cannabis use, but I broke down and wrote my own little rant/tangent in one thread about "The use of Abbreviations" (they misspelled the title of the thread, lol). It started as a simple spelling/grammar rant, but led to the same basic plea that you are making. My post was ignored. :(
Anyway, I think that it would be a HUGE step towards wider acceptance of the use of the herb if we could convey to "THEM" that we are mature, intelligent, and productive members of society with morals (more morals than most politicians, etc) with families, careers, and tangible property. We also provide widely-used services and products to the public along with reintroducing our earnings into the economy.
With the education system failing our youth of today (future leaders of tomorrow), we need to be more proactive with educating them on the importance of setting a positive image. It seems to be popular and "cool" to not-give-a-damn what people think about you. This is a horrible byproduct of more and more activism for individuality. What people tend to misunderstand is that it IS important how you are portrayed in professional and social settings and you can maintain a positive reputation while still keeping your own individual opinions/beliefs. There are ways to express those beliefs and opinions without looking like a degenerate, unintelligent thug.
In any case, I've been typing this on and off for about 3 or 4 hours while working so I'm gonna just post it and go eat. :D
Good post. 2
TGF
P.S. Seems like you abandoned that whole roadcam thing. :o

thanks for the response ... (I dumped my other monicker, as it resembled one of my e-mail addresses, and started a SPAM explosion) ... :D ... as to our public perceptions, I like the main proponents behind the MPP, Marijuana Policy Project ... these activists look like "Young Republicans", and are busy lobbying Washington D.C. ... haircuts, suits and ties, and hopefully, bagfulls of bribe money :D ... those are the guys that will get the changes made, not unwashed dreadlocks in the streets ... no offense meant, I was a longhaired hippie when the Earth was young ... :rasta: ... but, the Harvard-educated-looking 'suits' carry much more weight, and will improve the public perception of the American marijuana user, I hope ... currently watching Nevada in this election, a lot could turn on that vote ...
