Do any of you guys write?

I love to write but the only time I get inspired to write poetry is when Im feelin down. But I like to "try" to write creative short stories when Im high. I have a poem on poetry.com and they are putting it in a book and want me to buy it. I think its a scam and they put everyones shit in the book so they can profit alot from the book. Anyways I wanted to post it and get some opinons and see if anyone else likes to write songs, poety, or any kind of short stories.


Through my eyes you can see I've had it rough
My short life has been long and tough
I've been through trials and tribulations
That seemed unfair but taught me patience
Through my eyes you can see I've been mistreated
And all those times I wish could be deleted
Through my eyes you can see my pain
And the innocence I wish I could regain

Poetry.com is most likely a scam... They publish a lot of crap just for the money.

There are a lot of published writers there who are more than willing to help you in your intrest. You are required to review 5 works for everyone you submit, but the reviews are actually helpful unlike fictionpress and poetry.com

I write only for english class... It's mostly compositions, which my english teacher hates recieving from me. I like to write creative and interesting stories, rather than the dull stories written by the rest of the class. Yet, she finds a lot of my stories to be inappropriate, though it's supposed to be creative writing. My last one, we were supposed to write something about hands. I took it upon myself to make a story that nobody else would think of, and I did. Everyone thought it was great, except for my teacher. It started off with two guys entering one of the guys coffee shop.

"What are you guys doing?" his father asks.
"Holding hands," the two boys reply.

This is to make it seem like they are homosexual, and later on it explains that they found plastic hands in a box in their basement. They thought they were fun, so they carried them around.

Yeah.. that's about it. I was high earlier so now I'm tired and Im probably gonna go to bed :thumbsup:

Writing is one of my passions. I like to write poems or just stuff about how im feeling, kinda helps to see it in words.

i try writing short stories, but i always lose the mindframe i was in when i concieved the ideas for it and it just floats away

i only really write songs :)

My talent lies in writing Jim Morrisonesque poetry while tripping on a hallucingon. To some it's pretty good, to most it's the most horrible poetry you ever read! Here's one of my works:

Natural Escape

Observe the beauty around your eyes

Digest the sounds and the natural high

Reflections of nature's mirror

Gauging your soul by the river

The trees, the greenery, the liberation

Escaping the modern distraction

Computers, cell phones, electronics

disconnection, and political phonics

hatred, racism, and soul decay

humanity slowly being lead astray

Escape your materials for a moment

To see the world still has charm.

i like to read tho, in fact i just finished "Cujo" the other day, that book doesnt really hit you til the very end. anybody else ever read it? or how about "the stand"? "the library policeman"? "the sundog"? "the langoliers"? "it"? i used to read a lot of forgotten realms and dragon lance novels, but ive finished nearly all of them twice and its not much fun after that

I wrote teo amazing poems (im very humble) but the computer that they were on broke and now they are lost.... One was a sonnet about an obscure woman who became slightly notorious during WW2 and the other was an imagist piece about an inscence stick burning. I loved those poems, i miss them...

Short poems, short stories.
I'm slowly trying to gain confidence in it all...
Teachers/friends/parents have always tried to tell me i'm gifted...
But the confidence always gets in the way...
Anyone else have this kind of problem?

My problem is with whoever contributed to your lack of confidence in yourself, Inferius. You are gifted. Smart. Talented. Nice. I would have had fun raising you into someone who believed in himself in a big way. Because even complete strangers on a cannabis forum (like me) can see you've got a lot going for you. I want you to grab life by the horns and go conquer the world, both creatively and personally.

I write, too, by the way, as everyone probably already knows. I do it for therapy in addition to having written professionally for the years before I went back to school. I keep a journal. Write short stories. Poems. Occasional freelance articles on subjects I care about. Have done lots of poem-writing since my sister's been sick. I think it keeps me sane.

I wrote a limerick once, it goes

There once was a man from japan,
who named his kids with a can,
his first son was ding,
his second was ling,
and his daughter was ding-ching-chin-chan!

My 6th grade teacher didn't get it...

For me, relaxing and letting the sensi smoke clear my brain helps for sure. Especially when you can just sit and enjoy, maybe see something new in yourself or in the world. peace

I write mostly prose. Well, used to. My ex stole that ability from me, but that's another story and maybe another prose. But here are two pieces of mine, they're long so I won't be offended if you don't read 'em.

I would love to get to know you, and be the girl who you don't take advantage of, but I'm too much of love addict and you're too much of a dick. I would love to hug on your arm like the eye candy you crave so bad but I'm too fat, and you're too critical. I would love to be the one to do lines of coke with you and drop acid in my bedroom, but I'm too afraid and you're too cheap. I would love to rescue you from your assumed fucked up life, to hold your hand down the rocky path to recovery, but I have no idea what you need to recover from and I don't think you even want to recover. I would love for you to be my next love, to be my next heart throb, to be my next boyfriend, but you're too much of an asshole and I'm too much of a pussy and I'm not going back to my old ways. I would love to write you poetry and for you to absorb it like the pot smoke that so frequently haunts my room, but you're not poetic, romantic or even that intelligent. I would love for you to make love to me and make me swoon, but you're too raw and I'm too mentally distant for that to ever happen.
