Do any of you guys write?

I love to write but the only time I get inspired to write poetry is when Im feelin down. But I like to "try" to write creative short stories when Im high. I have a poem on poetry.com and they are putting it in a book and want me to buy it. I think its a scam and they put everyones shit in the book so they can profit alot from the book. Anyways I wanted to post it and get some opinons and see if anyone else likes to write songs, poety, or any kind of short stories.


Through my eyes you can see I've had it rough
My short life has been long and tough
I've been through trials and tribulations
That seemed unfair but taught me patience
Through my eyes you can see I've been mistreated
And all those times I wish could be deleted
Through my eyes you can see my pain
And the innocence I wish I could regain
Through my eyes you can see my tears
And all those times I wish I could disappear
Though I know my time is not up
The road before me is long and rough
Through my eyes you can see my fear
And watch as I shed one small tear
And when you hold me so close and tight
I get the feeling everything will be alright
For you are the one God sent to me
To bring me out of my despair and misery

Poetry.com is most likely a scam... They publish a lot of crap just for the money.

If you want a really good website for writers head over to http://www.zoetrope.com/

There are a lot of published writers there who are more than willing to help you in your intrest. You are required to review 5 works for everyone you submit, but the reviews are actually helpful unlike fictionpress and poetry.com

I write only for english class... It's mostly compositions, which my english teacher hates recieving from me. I like to write creative and interesting stories, rather than the dull stories written by the rest of the class. Yet, she finds a lot of my stories to be inappropriate, though it's supposed to be creative writing. My last one, we were supposed to write something about hands. I took it upon myself to make a story that nobody else would think of, and I did. Everyone thought it was great, except for my teacher. It started off with two guys entering one of the guys coffee shop.

"What are you guys doing?" his father asks.
"Holding hands," the two boys reply.

This is to make it seem like they are homosexual, and later on it explains that they found plastic hands in a box in their basement. They thought they were fun, so they carried them around.

Yeah.. that's about it. I was high earlier so now I'm tired and Im probably gonna go to bed :thumbsup:

My talent lies in writing Jim Morrisonesque poetry while tripping on a hallucingon. To some it's pretty good, to most it's the most horrible poetry you ever read! Here's one of my works:

Natural Escape

Observe the beauty around your eyes

Digest the sounds and the natural high

Reflections of nature's mirror

Gauging your soul by the river

The trees, the greenery, the liberation

Escaping the modern distraction

Computers, cell phones, electronics

disconnection, and political phonics

hatred, racism, and soul decay

humanity slowly being lead astray

Escape your materials for a moment

To see the world still has charm.

i like to read tho, in fact i just finished "Cujo" the other day, that book doesnt really hit you til the very end. anybody else ever read it? or how about "the stand"? "the library policeman"? "the sundog"? "the langoliers"? "it"? i used to read a lot of forgotten realms and dragon lance novels, but ive finished nearly all of them twice and its not much fun after that

I wrote teo amazing poems (im very humble) but the computer that they were on broke and now they are lost.... One was a sonnet about an obscure woman who became slightly notorious during WW2 and the other was an imagist piece about an inscence stick burning. I loved those poems, i miss them...
