First Experience - I don't think I was high...

Hello, I recently had my first experience smoking weed and I don't think I was affected. Many people say you don't feel it on your first time (or second, or even third), but my cousin who I smoked with said I must have been high because of the amount we smoked.

Within a few hours, I shared a blunt with two others, shared a double-rolled joint with three others and did about 8 bong rips... does that sound like a lot? Should I have been high from that?

The people there were saying that I probably felt it but didn't know because I was looking for it... but I mean, I've been drunk before and I know when I feel that, and those same people tell me getting high is just as much of an experience as being drunk.

So what do you think? Should I have felt it or is there a decent chance that I just felt nothing? Thanks.

Well as long as you arent exaggerating the 8 bong rips and the blunt and joint. The 8 bong rips should of been enough by itself to get yourself high. And yea you probaly dont know what your lookin for. My only advice is... Do it again! And again! And then see what happens =). Just dont concentrate on it just smoke and see where it takes you.

By the way, from your experience, do you find that getting high gets easier as you smoke more and more or do you build a tolerance?

Well at first its easy as hell to get stoned. One hitter quitter as they always say. You really dont start to build a tollerance for a while. Unless you start off smokin every day.

Yeah, I don't understand it... I must have been inhaling because with the bong I was taking in way too much smoke too be holding it all in my mouth or something. I could feel the burning in my chest. Maybe I didn't take the hits as fully as I should have. I would have to say I exhaled pretty quickly, maybe around 5-6 seconds after I inhaled, but regardless, I really felt nothing. I'd say that if I was high that night then I see no reason to get high... so I'll give all the tokers the benefit of the doubt and say I didn't feel what you all know and love. :p

No, now I know you didnt get high because your body was new to marijuana :p. Your suppose to hold the smoke in, but for no longer than 3 seconds. If you got a big hit (but not too big of a hit) I dont think it'd hurt to hold it in for just a little longer :cool: just keep doing the same you were doing before until you finally feel different.

you should have been high as fuck man, unless you were inhaling right...just keep trying man trust me its worth it. :smokin:

8 bong rips? What kind of rips? Did exhale a thick cloud of smoke for 5 seconds then cough like hell until you though you were going to puke? That's a beginner's bong rip.

Some people hold smoke in their mouth the first time and think there's some complicated trick to it. It's really just like breathing. Breath it in just like you take a deep breath to go underwater.

first 2 times for me, nothing. 3rd my eyes were bugging out and it was actually a little uncomfortable. But on my 4th my body felt so fucking awesome. it was total euphoria

According to Mr. Miyagi (my younger brother's nickname as he likes to be called), holding hit in longer arent 'bad' for you.


I have found if I take one really good hit and hold it in for 15 - 20 seconds I get high a lot faster then if I keep sucking 'fresh' smoke from my pipe... Plus one bowl goes a lot further ;)

First several times I smoked, no matter how much, I couldnt get 'high'. I did notice after like 30mins - 60mins I started to feel 'different' but not like my friends... Then after a solid 2 - 3 weeks of smoking I slowly but surely started getting 'high' as a kite.

Give your body time and remember: Relax. Dont worry about getting high, enjoy the weed, your friends, and just chill out. I also found a few beers makes the whole experience so much more intense.... Though some guys (and especially girls) get 'sick' when they combine weed & alcohol... Never was a problem for me though.

Seems like when you get enough smoke in your lungs to choke yourself you get pretty high pretty quickly.

its wen u hold the smoke in until u cant anymore or wait until the bong gets bak to u to exhale... i usually do that to make sure u gonna get wrecked lol

but i tihnk that maybe u didnt inhale enough because usually the first time people smoke they dont kno how to do it..but if u say u felt burning in ur chest maybe u just need to smoke again...ur tolerance level could be high too

THC is abosrbed instantly. There for a natural breath [about 3 seconds] is more than enough to get all the THC into your blood.

Holding a hit in only coats your lungs in tar.

The reason some people may "feel" higher is simply because they are holding their breath [oxygen deprevation]

This isnt good, as it fucks your brain over.

DONT HOLD HITS. There is no point what-so-ever unless you want to die quicker.

How is this possible? He hasnt smoked before, he cant have a high tolerance yet. His will be low... very low. Just keep smoking.

I know, I usually dont hold my smoke in for a long time, not even when I'm with other people passin the blunt around, but one time everyone was tellin me to hold my hit in until the blunt came back around to me. I really dont like the fact of holding the smoke in with a blunt because of the tobacco I inhale with the actual blunt it self. But I did it anyways and it did seem to get me fuckin blown more than I can ever recall so I just hold it in until I feel like it needs to be released now :p.

hahaha... ahh those days

i remember the first GB hit i took (not the first time smoking)....(*reminisces)

it was in a 5gal bucket and we used a 1gal milk jug......
i took a huge 1gal rip and sucked what felt like a 1/4 gal of water up (i didnt know about how a GB worked at the time, i was so concerned about sucking up instead of pushing down) and i instantly started coughing/vomiting at the same time all over the GB and in the bucket.....hahahaha what a laugh thinkin back on it, but at the time i was so embaressed.....lol

but as far as you getting high on the first time, just smoke the blunt/joint like a cig (hold for a couple seconds) and as long as you inhale correctly you should get high eventually, some noobies dont get high the first time, but with practice comes perfection (as long as your body inst fucked up and you can never get high)

now that would suck

i figure naturally some people can take things more then others...that is why some people get messed up there first time and others there first second third or maybe even fourth time...ive seen this happen many times so i figured some people might have just high tolerance naturally to it
