Help me with a CO2 Question
Okay, I saw on a grow video (from pot.tv) that if you cant afford a CO2 tank (which I cant) the next bext thing is to get Club Soda and a spray bottle.
My question is this: Once flowering begins, do you mist the club soda onto the flowers also, or just the fan leaves ?
Please help

Help me with a CO2 Question
Just a heads-up I seen something for sale that looked pretty good. It's a small bucket that has fungi or something inside there that releases CO2 at a good rate for a few months.... it was a grow product and cost £100, you can find it on a few websites but im not sure of the exact name.
I've also heard of using carbonated water is feeding but I havn't looked into it. Would be interesting to hear more about the club soda..

Help me with a CO2 Question
no this process it used to release CO2 into the air in the room. burning a candle produceses CO2 also, but this is not safe or practical keeping a candle burning all the time. if never heard of using clubsoda to produce CO2 but then again i'm no Magiver. But if wouldn't go spaying clubsoda on your plants til you know exactly what your doing with this, could #uck up the plant.

Help me with a CO2 Question
soda water, sparkling water, i think they all contain carbon dioxide to give them a punch. the key is carbon, that is what the plants need. i noticed in "I Grow Chronic" that this method was used and it appears to work. i have done it to my plants once already with no adverse effects. i will continue to do it. as to whether to do it on the buds or just the leaves, i would think only the leaves need it, that is where the carbon is used. spraying on the buds can't be helped at times in an attempt to get the leaves, but i don't see it hurt mine any.

Help me with a CO2 Question
Thanks for the responses guys! since colorockman told me that burning a candle releases CO2 I have left a candle in the room (very small about 6x2x7) during the light schedule and when I am there.
mordok, I saw that in the I Grow Chronic video also, that is why I was so curious.. It seems very legit, just unsure about the buds and the leaves, Ive been told it may be able to cause mold.

Help me with a CO2 Question
Have you ever heard of "excellofiz". They're tablets that you put in water and it realeases co2 into the air. Not as cheap as club soda or candles, but a whole lot cheaper than a co2 system.

Help me with a CO2 Question
insane! all of this is insane!ya dont want to be spraying anything on growing bud let alone club soda which is bound to be full of sugar!,,, jeeze try coca cola itll sweeten up the bud!!!,,the carbonated mineral water i would maybe go with ,,,,but again no spray on my flowering plants especially after the first four weeks and then only for bugsthe tabs are good , but ya have to remember to circulate all that vapour rich co2 around plenty or youl get mildew,,,
seroiusly dont spray your plants with club soda!
welcome to the world of endless possibilities,,,,hydroponics!

Help me with a CO2 Question
I guarentee you there is no sugar in club soda. All it is is WATER that is CARBONATED. Its exactly like regular water... only... carbonated... So i dont see how it can mold plants or cause mildew... please someone help!
As for the tablets you place in the reservoir.. Each tab only last 8 hours... and thats a lot of money :/

The thing I am most worried about is I dont know if the soda water will degrade the THC levels... someone please help!

Help me with a CO2 Question
does anybody remember sience class? Remember making paper mache volcanos with the bicarbonate soda and vinager? well heres how it works. The reaction of baking powder (bicarb) and vinegar is used as an example of an irreversible reaction.
The nature of atoms and molecules is touched on enough to explain the reaction - how a solid (bicarb) and a liquid (vinegar) combine to make a gas (carbon dioxide).
Moral of the story get a container make a mini volcano in it in you growroom. Doing that once a day should do the trick!

Help me with a CO2 Question
Hi,
The guy I get all my hydro supplies from told me this and a friend of mine uses it daily to spray on her plants (I will too when they get out of the seedling stage)--sodium free seltzer water sprayed on the leaves like a foliar spray. A very cheap, harmless way to give them some extra CO2. I have animals in my plant room so can't use anything that would raise the CO2 level to an unhealthy level (for non plant breathers) The only harm to the plant is burning the leaves if they are wet too close to the light. As far as spraying actual buds go I would be afraid to spray my buds with ANYTHING because of all the trapped moisture that could lead to some serious mold. I don't think buds dry out very fast because of all the dense plant material there do they?

Awesome dude! Thank you so much, I think I will probably do this 2-3 times a day in there, this is brilliant! Although I dont remember making volcanoes in science class =(. But still, genious!!!

Help me with a CO2 Question
the bicarbonate and vinegar sounds real good!, is there any way i can automate that!???lol
knew i should have studied more in science class, the only thing i could remember to use bi carb for was pH up! lol.
and i thought you americans called sweet fizzy drinks club soda
ha ha ha ,, would nt suprise me i have read of peoiple spraying there plants with coca cola!!! in here!
dont spray on the buds of a plant,, you will get mould guaranteed!!
happy growing, and have fun with the volcanos ,,,, i know i will!
lol
ooh could you find out how big a volcano to make ?
dont want to suffocate with over generous amounts of carbon dioxide!

Help me with a CO2 Question
well ive done some research and found that 1 litre of vinegar and 100 grams of baking soda makes about 1 cubic feet (1ft x 1ft x 1ft) of CO2, and this makes a high concentration in your grow for up to two days. So, you can do a volcano once every two days and this will be enough to boost your plants growth in say a closet, but if your closet isnt completly sealed you might get away with doing it at sooner intervals.... wow that was fucked i need to find my bong hope i helped

Dude...that is totally cool. I'm suddenly finding myself actually liking Sponge Bob.:D
BTW...if anyone is interested, this is the video that they're tlaking about, and what he's using is carbonated water. No sugar in it. This is excellent for anyone wantiong to build a hydro set up who hasn't a clue how to do it. Such as yours truely.
I Grow Chronic
These plants evolved being rained on, so I'm not quite sure why the buds getting wet should be such a worry. Though I would be worried about washing the THC away. Don't know if that's possible or not.

I feel like such a nerd.. lol thanks for thank link its a good watch.. also the reason you dont want to spray your buds proberly the main reason being mold.. dont wanna be smoking no moldy buds do we? lol yeah good old sponge bob is pretty cool.. being as childish as i am try this look at his nose and eyes upside down.. lmfao

Help me with a CO2 Question
there is another anser to this co2 dilema!..
a simple one, but effective.
increase the airflow of fresh air into the grow chamber, the amount of co2 in the atmosphere is sufficient for a very good grow! also i believe if you run your system at night, there is a naturally occouring higher level of co2 caused bty all the outside plants exhaling and producing c02, s opposed to oxygen! the nearer to the country side you are ,[ or a well planted patio or garden] the better but the principle is the same draw the freshly co2 enriched air of the patio and double the airflow to the room..
there was a system used where to rooms where ran at opposite times and the co2 enriched air was punped to the flowering room during lit hrs and reversed at night!Remember that plants create oxygen whilst in photosynthesis, and co2 whilst not!
a kilo of bicarbonate of soda seems to be an expensive alternative to co2 injection in the long run!
so i'd save my money and buy a co2 rig!
happy growing.
welcome to the world of endless possibilities,,,,hydroponics!

Help me with a CO2 Question
Yes, very true. A litre of vinegar and 100 grams of baking soda every two days can be very expensive in the long run. So this is my current solution; I bought a 100 pack of tea candles (very small, about 1 to 2 inches across and not even an inch high) and a 9 candle holder, and I light 9 candles during sun light hours.

Help me with a CO2 Question
it's not the cheapest way but it works great me and my buddy buy a brick of dryice and split it and put it in hot water.the dry ice is solid co2 when put in hot water it turns to gas and fogs your room out with co2 its like 80 cents a pound and 2 or 3 lbs is great for 3 or four plants. when you do it turn off your fans and place the water and dryice above the plants if you can the smoke tends to fall down i love this method

Help me with a CO2 Question
what you could do for a cheap co2 maker is get a colman stove the kind used for camping and either a small bottle or a big bottle of propane. and leave the burner on over nit... but have it the lowst setting..almost like the pilot light..this will make just the same as those big expensive ones..just becare u dont burn your room down:rasta:

Help me with a CO2 Question
the idea of creating co2 to aid in photosythasis during the night!!!!???? is somewhat confusing, the plant creates co2 when the light is off, it needs it during the light hours,, burning also causes carbon monoxcide! not a good effect, if not vented it can be deadly to humans and plants!

.
Sugar + yeast + water in bottle==CO2.
Tommygirl, is that you??? :)

Help me with a CO2 Question
Most simple is probably the Dry Ice Method, most money efficent is Baking Soda+Vinager, just shake it every now and then, add more Vinager once all the Baking Soda has absorbed all the vinager, and like other posters have previously posted, redo every 2 days or so.
