i played heroquest for a bit...that was pretty fun...
.i have a d&d set buut i could never be arsed to learn it.....its fucking complex!
Don't you know shades are -3 to spot checks?!?!?! An' it's all about 3rd edition, son.
:p.
EW 3rd Edition blows!
1st Edition Modified the way I like it all the way!
Hey 3.0/3.5 is a pretty good update to the rules. Modular, not to much broken and in constant need of clarifiying.
I started playing when I was 10 and had a blast for a while with AD&D but got into other things and didn't play for a long time. Had some old gaming buddies around when 3.0 came out and we put in 10 bucks each and bought the 3 core books and the 1st level adventure (Forge of Fury?, we did that whole series) and played.
Next thing it was every week. While not perfect at least with 3.5 they made nice changes to balance it more. Of course now WoTC is moving on with 4.0. Personally I can stick to 3.5ish rules.
Lately I am running Expedition to Castle Ravenloft with Ravenloft rules. Which just means darker, scarier, and most probably unwinable.

Hah yea i play dnd with a few friends of mine, actually as of late we've been playing a Serenity role playing game (based around the firefly series, if anyones familiar with that). Been trying to get a buddy of mine to run a shadow run campaign for a while though.
I used to play, and we had a lot of fun until my players figured that they could be out doing stuff in real life rather than sitting in my basement pretending to do stuff with their imagination. So now they play D&D Online and WOW.
:(
when we played d and d in the day wed be like 2 d 10 to kick incoming ogre in the nuts
*roll* 20- clean nut shot to the point the ogre pukes from the pain and i gain an honor rating...
we played haphazardly
I mostly just play White Wolf games. d10s rule!
hehe
we played some vampire/werewolf/mage for a while some paranoia, d20 modern(which is shadowrun prettymuch)
We shift around with games since were all older anyways so might as well do strange things.
As for the online games I used to play DAoC for a while and had alot of fun then played Shadowbane. Now I really have to time to do that so pen and papering it once a week is good.
my poor players they had a stalemate last night versus a green hag I made just for them.
The paladin called her mount last night and in strides this black stallion with pure white mane and tail fire burning eyes and snorting breath. everyone stopped talking and just stared at me.
Damn ravenloft is fun. Lets the Dm be even more tenacious with characters who play badly. Since you can curse them right!
I never played any of the whitewolf games, but thats more so because i dont respect them as a company. They try and sue just about anyone they can, even their own player base for gawds sake. They just came off as really skeezy to me.
Ya white wolf can be "skeezy" but their old World of Darkness games were fucking awesome. One game I look forward to play is scion. It's where the titans come and rage war against the pantheons again. You are the son/daughter of a pantheon deity. There are many mythological gods to choose from, although none are from Asia. I mean like the Norse, Egyptian, Greek, Aztec, Mayan, etc. I hope this made sense because I am fucking crunk!
I am kinda interested in seeing how Monte Cook does the new World of Darkness since the last one sucked.
We always played revised.

I always enjoyed checking out the great net spellbook and seeing all the crazy spells that people come up with.
I pretty much gave up when edition 3 came out, too much invested in my old characters I guess, and too lazy to convert, and too broke to buy all the new books.
