I haven't been on erowid.com for a few months, i just went on and it's all changed (that's cool i like the new look of it). But it made my computer so slow and 31 pop-ups came up, like all the ones titled "you computer may be infected", just all that spyware shit came up, hope it doesn't happen every time i go on there as this computer was fucked up for a good 5 minutes lol.
What browser are you using? I'm not having any problems with slowness or pop-ups on Firefox.
BT Internet Explorer i have. Always works fine, but the pages on erowid were loading really slowly and it was making my computer freeze, but it's fine now i'm on here, like the pages are loading instantly as they always do. Oh well i know all the info on stuff i need to know about so it's not much of a loss, but i'll try again later and tell you if it's any better :D
I'm using Internet Explorer, I didn't get any pop-ups. So I doubt it's the browser.
Perhaps you have spyware, then. That is often the cause of mysterious pop-ups. Run Ad-Aware and see if it turns up anything.

I Luv Firefox. Especially the feature where you can create permanent tabs. I set mine to my Yahoo DSL page, Google, Dictionary .com, my schools website, and of course Cannibis.com. Itâ??s like have having 5 homepages all at the same time. I just toggle back a forth between them. For anyone who doesnâ??t use it, I highly recommend it.Quote:

likemclever: the tab feature is worththe change alone, the speed is a sweet bonus ( especially when tweaked a bit), photo zoom,quick link bar,mail, superior google bar, I can go on . Im havin fun exploring it. I wish I had done this long ago.
My advice to anyone with a highspeed connection...CHANGE or at least sample it.
