If u have a petrol lawn mower just start that up in there for bout 5 secs that will produce loads i think ?!?!
Erm, petrol engines produce carbonmonoxide not carbondioxide, I wouldn't.
Find a gardening store and buy some liquid CO2, or talk to your plants! You produce CO2 every time you breathe out :)
if the unit is a closed type(no vent)it will just recycle the air in the room(no additional CO2).but if it has a air vent switch open all the way,you'll get at least 20%fresh air mixed with the cooled recycled air that'll have some "CO2"in it....bonbon
HvyFuel, I never thought of that, but you are right. If you talk to your plants you would give them a lot more CO2. Would only work if you had a small amount of plants. I talk to mine a lot and play music for them. Music works great, especially in the morning right before watering. I am copying the SonicBloom tech, but I play classical music for them and water them 45 minutes later. They are doing even better since I started that!

I don,t talk to mine or play em music , i just piss on em for their craving for nitroengen.

I think you could get a cage and put some rats in it.
dry ice is a way I learned from dylan, make sure you plants never contact it though! and if you have money, get a c02 discharge system so you can moniter the levels
I ve read somewhere that you can produce co2 by using yiest.You add water and sugar and the yiest stasts to produce co2.Has anyone tried that?
co2 is mostly used in vegatative stage to build more leaf mass, during flowering the effects are not as effective
During flowering period Co2 will produce larger heaver buds and will finish faster then with out any added.

yes that is true you can mix yeast, water and sugar and it will produce a slow amount of CO2 for over a week BUT... BUT.... HOWEVER, from my PERSONAL experience (in retrospect i kicked myself) if you have a hydro system, i would say to NOT use this because if ONE freakin yeast particle gets in the water, it will just reproduce at speeds that you cannot control and your system will have a YEAST INFECTION.Quote:

i creat co2 by breathing on them AND putting a teaspoon at a time in a small bowl of BAKING SODA and VINEGAR. that gives it a good small shot of co2 if you have a smaller growing area,,,,,plus i put a CANDLE in a empty COFFEE CAN (i like small tea lighs or the religious kind in glass, they burn better) and it burn oxygen and releases co2!!! of course that happens ONLY when i'm in the area and can monitor it off and on. hope this couple other ideas help to give your plant co2
Yes; but not above the 200-300 ppm that is in the air by nature. To grow successfully with co2 you need to get it up to 1500 ppm and keep it there for the light period. Then run exhaust and exchange the air and do it all over again the next light period. Dry Ice does work and is easy to use, it can add up though. Like 5 pounds a day for the whole period get expensive. Even if you only used it every other day to save money you would see a big difference in the end.Quote:

another thing with c02 is proper temps for the plant to metabolize it properly. if the temps arent in the right range, the plant simply does not use the extra c02. Plus, if c02 came from AC units, there would be a lot of dead people running around, lol.

OK nooblets info time im gonna start charging for this info cause it seems like nobody knows what the hell they are tslking about ok first no air conditioners do not make or produce co2 and yes you read right yeast and sugar and water do produce co2 and yes i have used it before it does work message me if u want to know the formulas and exactly what to buy i done it before it is cheap and will increase your yield get back to me i know im a pro

Chrispy..dude I'm sorry but some of the answers they gave you made me laugh. Just search for co2 enrichment at OG or goggle the topic. At least that will give you a fighting chance to know when you hear the truth or some 14 year old kiddy just crap talking.

Good luck in your search...I use co2 from start to finish and would not think of growing without it as well as some other equipment. Watch the RH level if you use co2 plants do better in humid environments.
