Don't bash socialism-communism. Communism-socialism is the perfect form of goverment for a peaceful soceity. It's a system based on no money(so no one can get greedy) and everyone doing their part and helping each other out. Marxist theory was genius, but seadly he didn't realise the world we live in. Socialism-Communism is the perfect form of government, but sadly most people are too lazy and when a dictator rises up saying that he has the perfect way to run the country the lazy people immediatly follow him thinking they can get a easy way out. Communists are my sworn enemies,and socialism ain't far behind..both systems,concentrate too much power and control,in the hands of un-elected officials and prevent the majority from ever making a better life for themselves,including financial independence. Both seek to replace God with themselves and control all speech and thought.

But my vision of socialism is not like those enacted by so-called "communist" governments like China, Cuba, Vietnam, the USSR, etc. Your argument rests upon the false conclusion that common ownership of the means of production causes corrupt bureaucracy, but in reality, this only happens when the State (whose main purpose in any society is to protect the elite from the masses) is retained after the attempted abolition of capitalist exploitation, which of course creates a new elite even more exploitative than the capitalists. Communism thus cannot be separated from direct democracy, the ability of the people to directly exert control over their own communities (do not confuse with representative "democracy" where society is ruled by a wealthy few). True communism means common ownership of the means of production by the PEOPLE, not by some government bureaucracy or by the rulers of the fascistically-structured capitalist corporations. And history shows it is not impossible.

P.S. Every Democrat I know has been an ardent supporter of capitalism, defined by Webster's as "an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market". I can't think of a single Democrat who would disagree.

People can 'debate' the legitamacy of this "War on Terrorism" all they want. There is just too much bull to form any conclusions about Bush solely on his foreign policy, and that policy may very well suck, that isn't what concerns me.

The dislike for Bush came up inside me long before this bullshit. It came initially from him saying "there ought to be limits to freedom" in response to a website that criticized his past drug use. I am confident that I have said this in posts long ago, but I shall reinstate. Anybody who says "There ought to be limits to freedom" in response to a website excersizing the basic right of freedom of speech in a "democracy" otherwise known as the United States should not be the fucking president.
Take a look at texas, with is high incarceration rates. Prisons full of people caught with even personal use amounts of drugs (most of them black), drugs that Bush himself admitted to doing. Every other drug user is evil and should face time in prison for a victimless crime, except if you're a member of the Bush family.
He steps up the War on Drugs, terrorizing medical marijuana patients. These people have terminal illnessess, Bush wants them in jail because the medicine they depend on the live isn't allowed in their own country.
He wont stop there, he'll send the DEA to Canada to bitch-whip the VPD. Put a man in prison for life, for selling marijuana seeds...from another country. Under the Patriot Act Mark Emery is another narco-terrorist. Right up there with the Columbian Cartels, which his administration has failed to stop. Sure he sprayed acres upon acres of good land with insecticides to, maybe, cut down the cocaine production. Why then has purity increased with availability and the lowest prices ever? Why is his solution to lay to waste more land?
What would be so hard about mandating even a 20/80 mix of biodiesel to petro?

The answer is that he's a dirty politician, and I doubt even amsterdam will deny that one. All of them are dirty though right?
It seems to me that Bush has just over-blown an already devastating national tradgedy to focus his administration on some fucked up foreign policy based on the classic shoot first ask questions later methodology. Good way to keep your eyes off the issues at home.

He was deperate to win the war that (in his mind) his father lost. Instead, he is losing the war his father won. He cannot except that, which is why Americans will continue to die so long as he is in office. Clinton got a BJ from a fat girl, and denied it later. I've done that myself, but I've never sent 2000 men to their death so I could prove I was tougher than my dad.
