Bob Marley.
Melonoma(sp?) to be exact. And it's kind of interesting, Melonoma is often seen in Europeans more..Bob's father was a white and english. That's another thing, Bob Marley is just as much white as he is black (give or take the mother's dominant genes) but other than that, he's 50 - 50. I always get weird looks and snickers from black people when i wear my bob marley shirt. It's about the music people. Goddamn.
Yep..not a well known fact that Bob Marley was half white..like you said..his father was white and British.
They originally thought the melanoma on his toe was an injury from playing soccer but in fact it was cancer which spread throughout his body.
Speaking not-well-known facts, (totally un-related to Bob Marley)
Robert Deniro is actually more irish than italian. His mother was of irish ancestry and his father was half italian and half irish..he ended up with an italian last name but he's %75 irish. Weird.
Who's Bob Marley? ;)
No way! That's weird, I never knew that. Interesting.Quote:

Yeah I was saying earlier to some people that the type of person he was, he wouldnt've wanted to live any longer than he did probably. He knew his time had come, he did what he was made to do and it was his time to go. His music and identity wouldn't be as prolific had he survived to this day. Same goes for Hendrix.
do u get that shit in the us?i mean walkin down with a bob t shirt being white do u get hassle?im from ireland and basically cars goin by mostly white people with 50cent boomin out of the sterio, would people look at u funny 4 doin that in america?shit walk by my house any day and its either 2pac r bob comin out of the speakers and iv never had a strange look maybe about the volume but thats it,lolQuote:

Yeah I have the DVD "Rebel Music". It's a documentary about him, it's cool.
It depends on what area you're in, but yes I do get weird looks from some black people when I wear a Bob Marley or Jimi Hendrix shirt. Most of the black people who snicker don't even listen to either of them. When they snicker or laugh, I just smile at them and walk on. There's no sense in making a big deal about it, they're the ones with the problem.
I'm a big, dutch, white guy. I'm 6'4, I have a big red beard and I still wear my Marley shirt with pride. It shouldn't be about the color of your skin, or what you look like. It's all about the music and what he stood for. And if I do get a strange look, I ask what the fuck their staring at.
he didnt do it because of his rastafarian religion. he believed doctors cheat the gullible by pretending to have the power of witchcraft.
Exactly. Bob believed that Jah, or the herb would help him through it.Quote:

1 of the greats
I beleive he got cancer in his toe because of a soccer injury which ripped off his toe nail. How that turned to cancer, I have no idea.
... with all this speculation its definately time to break out the movie and give it another view.

"Diagnosis
In July 1977, Marley was found to have malignant melanoma in a football wound on his right hallux (big toe). Marley refused amputation, citing worries that the operation would affect his dancing, as well as the Rastafarian belief that the body must be "whole"
Bob Marley
Rasta no abide amputation. I don't allow a man to be dismantled.
Bob Marley
—From the biography Catch a Fire
Marley may have seen medical doctors as samfai, confidence men who cheat the gullible by pretending to have the power of witchcraft [citation needed]. He finally agreed to undergo minor surgery to excise the cancer, which was kept secret from the public."
-Wikipedia
Aside from this,
Imagine the world we'd have today if we all followed the easy going ways of Bob. Rather than building weapons or chemical death, we'd be supporting life and enjoyment, respect for all.
Marley is one of those people you'd want to go back in time to hug.
He left so much love.
Robert Nesta Marley
My sig shows how he felt about being half white.

LEGEND!!!!!!!!!
My god, so true man. PURE LEGEND. He was burried with bud. I imagine that somewhere in space, floating in the great cosmic and heavnely beyond, is bob marley, yes bob marley HIMSELF, except, its a replica of him, cast in solid 24 carrot gold, and speckled with the finest jewels from all over the mines of jamaca. And in that place, yes in that VERY place, is a place many religions refer to as NiRvAnAa. im so high right nowQuote:
