You should support stem-cell research, even if you don't support abortion (like me)... what woudl you have them do? Just throw the carcasses away unused? This is an example of the willingness of politicians (not just Bush, but all politicians) to sacrafice morality for political gain. In this case he is pandering to the mindlessly pro-life crowd.
i personally would prefere if they didnt do it....
it may be a cure for many diseases but......i dont actually know.
i would just prefere it if they left the world as it was instead of trying to make even more humans live for longer increasing the population.
maybe im just worried about overpopulation....who knows??

What we're really talking about,is the availability of Federal monies for research..in other words,using the tax-payer dollars,many of whom,are Christians and don't want their taxes used to support the destruction of life. Private companies,can use their own money,for the destruction of life..without the support of Federal grants.
The democrappers are using this issue to make Christians look bad,when it's really just Christians objecting to the use of their tax dollars to support the destruction of life. Private companies and individuals,can invest as much of their own money as they want..and not expect to use my tax dollars for their insidious research.

Not all stem cells come from unborn babies. Everyone has stem cells in their bodies. People with bone cancer use stem cells from family members who match up [their own stem cells are corrupt from the cancer]. Stem cells can grow into any cell the body needs. Eventually , stem cells will be able to repair any body part, if research is allowed to continue. If Bush is against anything that destroys life, how can he send troops into battle, that destroys life, or rather he does. So, does that mean he's against himself ? Nope, I think if it is a government run research, then everyone is able to use it, but if its privatly run research then it goes to the rich or those that can afford it.

My dad died of bone marrow cancer two years ago. They were trying to kill all his cancerous cells so they could use his own stem cells to rebuild his bone marrow (blood cell factory). This is after no family members matched his stem cells for a transplant. The treatment to kill the cancer, killed him before it got all the cancer. A matching stem cell donor or a new method might have made a difference. He was only 58 and in very good health leading up to this. Took him in less than one year. He was a good and cool guy. If they aren't killing people or animals for the research, what's the problem?

I think it's still an important study and am all for it. I know some people will benifit and theses people are alreay living for manys of years who deserve a second a chance. How they use this new technology will be a bigger issue I beleive. I hope it benifits the needy rather than the rich.
In the cycle of reproductivity, stem cell research does not ever complete the cycle. Comes close, but no Cigar.
