New here, I just thought I'd share a couple pics of my ladies. The one on the left is a Blue Widow and the other is a Blue Hash. I tried to go with an organic soil mix this time so the only thing I have given them from seed is plain water (and a little molasses when they went into flower). They are 25 days into flower (24 in the pics) under a 600W HPS. How they lookin?

they are looking very nice indeed:jointsmile:my set up is almost the same as your only iv got 400w hps .my room is 3x3x7.5 foot ,what yours looks about same or bit bigger ??an what sort of intake an outake have you got?i can see your ducting for venting >>mine goes into attis which its joined to a 100rvk fan ..
Hi green fingaz, my box is 2x3x5.5 feet tall. I just have a 160 cfm duct fan taking air from the box, through the cool tube, and out the back of the box. I also have a small hole with a fan at the top of the box blowing air out the back too... the only intake is a vent at the bottom. Stealth isnt too big of an issue for me so they both just blow into my livingroom.

Just a simple soil mix... organic potting soil, perlite, vermiculite, peat moss, blood meal, bone meal, and dolomite lime. They are currently in 5 gallon buckets and I transplanted them 3 times since seed using the same mix each time. Seems to be working well and giving them everything they need as they have only received plain water since sprouting. I used to use all the latest and greatest chemical nutes, but I like this way better. No mixing, no keeping track of feedings, no over-fert/under-fert worries, and its a whole lot cheaper and cleaner. I just add water and the soil does the rest. Now that they are in flower I add molasses to their water about once a week or so. Its my first time growing this way so we'll see how things turn out. They should be ready to harvest in about 5 or 6 weeks. No problems so far but harvest is still a long way off. lol

Appreciate the tip! I dont add any external nutes though... they are only feeding off of what I put in the soil when I mixed it. Working good so far I just hope its enough for them to feed off of until harvest time, I really dont want to add anything if I dont have to.
they look helthy but they also look real strechy how high is your lamp? they look like they are about on track for 4 weeks but them long stems are liable to snap becuase they are streched out like hell 10 grams would proabbly snap them things get some supports and next time think aobout doing some lst or scrog if your plants are that strechy

Fatherjack.... The soil will deplete itself.. Through the uptake of nutrients in the soil being used by the plant. So your gonna have to add something later. Just don't be scared to try new things.. But keep it simple too. Even if it's a 1/4 of the suggested strength... Your plants will LOVE you!
They didnt start stretching bad until I went to 12/12. The light is just 8 1/2 inches away from the tops and I topped both plants twice. The odd thing is the BH was short and bushy as hell till the light switch... then she went nuts - almost tripled in height. The BW was always taller and she just doubled in height. (BTW I experimented this time around by keeping the MH bulb in until they were two weeks into flower, then I switched to the HPS... think that had anything to do with it?) The final transplant in the 5 gallon buckets happend just a few days before 12/12 and their only supposed to flower for around 8 weeks... you dont think the nutes in the soil will last 8 weeks? Could I just spread some bone meal on top of the soil before I watered if they start to get hungry? I was really trying to avoid chemicals for this grow if at all possible. This is my first time trying to grow organically and the first time I have tried these strains so I'm learning as I go. Thanks for all the replies btw... I appreciate it.
I think I misunderstood... Sorry! I had no idea you were goin' organic... Guess I missed that,huh? I do know that my Miricale Grow soil will deplete during veg and says on the bag ' Last up to 6 months".. Bullshit! I still have no problem with adding nute to new MG soil... It's how ya do it I guess? Lots has to do with the strain involved in the grow,too. Bone meal won't hurt ya... But the molasses is gonna do ya lots of good! It has all the trace minerals as well as pure cane particles that help the plant uptake the nutrients and from getting a nute-lockout. In which flushing is involved.. Therefore washing all your hard work down the drain!Quote:

I though about revegging them and then taking clones but I dont know, I'm not very good at things like that. I'm very sure they'll be be potent though... these ladies were stinkin up the house their second week in veg. On a whim I took the little tops I cut from them when topping and fired them up. Yep... even the two week old cut tops got me a buzz. Now granted I'm not a heavy smoker, but still... I was impressed!
Really! You should reveg and only pop 5 of those beans... Your sure to get 1 female that you could take cuttings from.. It's not rocket science to take cuttings.. It's easy as pie! There are so many growers here that are veterans.. Lots of great info here too! Take a few and try to start them when you have plants in veg.. Can't hurt you when ya make a mistake or even fail at it! You are sure to learn from any mistake witch is way better than havin' somebody tell ya how.. Lots of video's on youtube that will help cultivate cuttings! Need me? Ask... Be more than happy to put ya on the right path My Brother!
Forgot to add... it took 13 days from the time I ordered on Nirvana's website to get to my mailbox here in Tennessee. Not too damned shabby! I've ordered seeds from Attitude before (coincidentally where the BW and BH came from) and it took almost a month.

What bothers me about cloning is your on a time limit and one mistake and your SOL. Even with a mother your still at risk of her dying. I bought the 10 regular seeds with plans of breeding to provide an abundant supply of seeds that can be stored until I'm ready to use them. I might try cloning later on, but I want to be sure I have a back-up plan... i.e. my own personal seedbank ;) Call it the boyscout in me... but I always like to be prepared, cause if Romney gets in were all screwed!

Looking good. Wow all this info is making my head spin. So whens the correct time to clone? And how do I know im not cloning a male? Mine haven't started flowering yet but in 2 weeks I will
I wasnt talking about not taking care of them Ga.. what I meant was you never know what can happen. I've had the power go out for a month before in December and I've had my water pipes freeze up and couldnt get them thawed for over a week. Theres always bottled water but no lights for a month isnt good. BUT who knows... I might try to take a clone off one of these and try it out. I've still got my CFL's and my little 150w HPS light, would the 150w be too hot to start the clones or would I need to use the CFL's?
Drew... I of course dont know much about cloning, but I would think that you would only clone a plant that is a known female. Using feminized seeds to get your mother from.

Just a thought... I've never taken a cutting from a feminized seed before,nor an auto flowering seed. There is too much that can take place without regular beans! I think fatherjack has some regular Northern Lights... So the info I suggest pretains to a regular type bean..

Well it appears that the Blue Widow stems are in fact too thin to support the weight of the increasing size of the buds. As you can see they are starting to droop so I may have to string them up somehow. On the plus side, they are starting to get a little frosty. :jointsmile:

I'm almost in week 7 of flower and I'm not seeing any amber trichs, just roughly half and half clear/cloudy. They are both supposed be an 8 week strain so how long do you guys think it will take to start seeing amber? I'm looking to harvest when I have mostly cloudy with equal amounts of clear/amber. I have 9 days left to hit the 8 week mark... think that will be enough?
Here is what they look like now. In the center top is an Ice Kush (12/12 from seed started in another grow box under a 150w hps) and the center bottom is some jalapeno's I was experimenting with. I dont think my yield is going to be as good as I would have liked, but I think thats because I didnt take GA's advice and relied too much on the soil mix to feed them. They really havent fattened up much since the last pics I posted. I should have fed them more. Lesson learned.

Your plants are beautiful. On your next grow. Try some Coffee and Coffee grounds. About a quart of Coffee at watering time. They like their Coffee strong.
