Anything in particularly in mind? Indica, Sativa or Hybrid?

Indicas usually build phatter thicker buds....however strain is only part of the recipe for high yields.... You'll also need the right equipment, space, knowledge, nutrients and time to give love....Quote:

For me, Cheese & Bluberry Kush, SOG, (sea of green), DWC, (tub o nutes with a bubbler and a net pot) and very good lights. I use T5 and T8s for veg then you could use HPS lamps or what I like now is a very good 3W LED/diode 325W array that could do it all start to finish, just pricey. But so far very very reliable and damn do they work! They are at least twice as good as my 600W HPS. This indoor is with a paranoid 1st timer (also financer), so, no pics yet, maybe later. Hope you have great luck, and keep us all posted. Think about telling us how you do and what you used, as we all learn a lot from each other. As you can see there are a lot of folks willing to help at this site. PS I know Cheese is usually grown 'out' but it did really well as an 'Inside'.
Dutch? You think White Widow would do well under these hot LEDs?:)

Perhaps you I misunderstood your post or perhaps you mis-stated the claim but otherwise I'm calling BS. I grow under 300w of 3w single chip LEDs and there is no way they out produce a 600w HPS. Not even close. Further you state that you are a 1st timer... so how would you know? I like my LEDs and they do produce but let's not grossly inflate their value, eh? This round I added 400w CMH. We're a few weeks in to flower and so far it is kicking LED ass. I've retired my LEDs to veg only for which they work VERY well. Also, for those considering LED, don't buy in to the longevity argument. Yes, the diodes will last forever assuming no power spikes (which will kill them), however the transformers that drive them and fans that cool them will not last 1/4 as long as the diodes... just something to consider.Quote:

No, I think you read me correctly alright, Perhaps I'm just impressed with the early (vegatative) effects of these 'hot' LEDs, and trying to rationalize the expense. But since what you are telling is, for me 'no harm, no foul' because I can still use them for the veg cycle and move to a '400 CMH for the bloom. Hindsight proably would have gone T5s to veg, way cheaper. Again thanks for your post Bigs, I'm old enough to know I don't know much, just young enough to want to learn at lot more. Oh and do you think that 400 CMH would cover a 4' X4' area well?
p.s. Are we all calling the same variety "Cheese"? Our (Cheese) plant type is very much a dominate sativa blend, yet doesn't get very tall and branches like crazy. Seems like it should do ok as SOG grow what do you think?

I have 2 x Blue Cheese, 1 x Big Bang 2 and 1 x Chronic growing right now.
I am also an LED grower. 190w Pro-Grow 260 and 4 x 20w CFL. I'm truly amazed by how well LED beef up my ladies...
I tried the Big Bud x Northern Light in my last grow and it was a very good producer ! I even had branches breaking after a watering ! Great bud and great yield !

What's the highest a plant can grow? I've heard they could grow 30 feet or more is that true, and wouldn't all the buds make the plant fall over or do you need strings to hold it up if it was even above 15 feet?
My two most favorite indoor strains (cash crops) from years ago were AK-47 and Misty (White Widow family). Although the AK-47 didn't have as good a yield as Critical Mass had, I felt the better high was worth the compromise. I eventually crossed a Misty female with an AK-47 male and lucked into a very nice phenotype that looked like a snow covered AK-47 at harvest. Although the phenotype was a bitch to clone the increased tricome density made the cured bud look sugar coated and although not always true with increased tricome density, it had a much stronger high than either of it's parents.
But for my personal use I grew Sugar Klingon. I paid a pretty penny for the seeds on the auction site associated with Heaven's Stairway in Canada. But they were well worth it. It was only an average producer but the bud had a creamy sweet berry taste that lingered on the tounge long after the last toke. Please give me a shout if you know where these seeds or clones can be obtained today.

AK-47 always big and juicy.
Cannabis nutrients Cannabis requires phosphorus, nitrogen and potassium like any other plant. It also requires certain metals and trace elements for healthy growth. You will find plenty of ready-made cannabis nutrients being sold, and giving the right dosage regardless of the lack of superiority of the elements is bound to yield good results.
Two guys here in NorCal are seeing the "good leds" be very productive. They got rid of the duct work, extra cooling, noise, vibrations, high power bill, one luxury problem though more aroma OMG.
again being LEd's there not going to produce super large yields as for light imprint , to the op best strains i found for maximum yields are kush strains Purple kush huge yielder, hybrid strains like pure power plant is another massive yielder most dutch comercial growers preferQuote:

I love seeing old threads get resurrected! Seems the original question was "But i want YOUR opinion. What is the highest yielding cannabis plant?", which morphed into set up and other factors affecting yield.. So here's what I've experienced and learned over the last few years:
Yield is a function of plant size, regardless of the strain.. small plants, little bud. Big plants, lots of bud. You can do things to control this.. I personally like to grow in standard commercial nursery pots using soilless mix. Hands down the least hassle. In my set-up, I use 2' x 4' carts with a trellis assembly of the same dimension built in. I vary the height of the trellis depending on what strain I'm growing. What works here for me is: 2 x #5 or 1 x #7 containers in the cart.. the #7 will allow for one big assed plant, which I normally use for sativa dominant plants.. I always prune (generally FIM) and get them all to branch making multiple bud sites and fill up the trellis. This typically results in somewhere around 12 oz dry per cart.. sometime more, sometimes less.. I also have 6.5' of vertical head room to the lights.. Top yield for me was +15oz off of a single plant in a #7. This was a Barney's G13 Haze that had several buds over 16" long.. so much for the description of a medium height plant..
Basically it's all dependent on having good space, light, ventilation, proper temp/humidity, and ultimately knowing what you're doing. Skilled growers can usually get a good yield out of most good genetics..
Regarding top yielder's - I think it's hybrids.. best of both worlds, sativa height and indica weight.

my previous grow was 4.75 pounds 5 plants 2k lighting in heat of summer this grow is 5 x 15 scrog 1800ppm of co2 with over 600 bud sites and over 350 that will be the size like this one on 5 gallon pail its all about making bud there buddy that 45 gram bud there wet is over 1/2 oz dry imagine 600 buds like thatQuote:

Now that's some crazy shit! I imagine a lot of work too.. I go for less work these days and have gone back to a single room for both veg/flower, keeping it simple. What strain is that in the pic? The bud by the bucket? Nice.
strain is PPP i vegged 5 weeks trained them then flipped only hard part is getting under table to clean all sucker buds off weekly other then that it works like a charm pretty much most efficient way i found per sq foot yieldQuote:
