Do they look stunted or do you think they are growing fine. This is their 25th veg day. I have them under a 400w HPS. I will add my other 400w HPS for flowering.

i cant really tell , but it looks like they're little stretched.
theres been some strech on them for sure. That fixture is not letting the light get to the outside plants. either rotate the plants or take the reflector off.
Those outer ones are screaming for light. Uhh huhh, see, I can hear them: "Light, light, I need light!" lol
Seriously, they do look a little stretched. You may want to go ahead and add in your other light so you can distribute the light over that further distance you need. You would have seen that stretching DRAMATICALLY if you have ever used flourescent lamps. I kept my lamp a little too far away, and my baby is over a foot tall at 4 weeks!
Attached is a picture of my 2 babies, started at the same exact time...The little one is a polyploid (mutated)...I think maybe it's because the seed was a little immature, iono....but see the difference in height? I learned my lesson about that weak ass flourescent bulb. (Also, the little one was stunted a little bit because I transplanted it from a cup to that pot.)
Btw, it looks as if the plants are suffering from either over-fertilization or light burn also. I am thinking that they are suffering from over-fertilization.Quote:

I think that the very last pick at the bottom shows symptoms of over-fertlization. Do you see how the very bottom leaves curve downward/inward? It also appears to me that these leaves display browning on the very tips. Check to see if these leaves feel dry to the touch. This condition begins right below new growth and then spreads to the rest of the plant. Over-fertilization also stunts plant growth, as it appears to you.Quote:

How can you compare one strain to another on how it is growing? I just looked at my girls right now and the one your talking about has reacted to the additional light extremely well. On the pic your talking about, its Afghani. Look at the leaf formation. Some stems only have one leaf finger on it. Another reason for the leaves to be smaller on the bottom is that i did not top this girl, nor the rest of them. Not yet anyway. The concentration of growing for Afghani is on top. Reason for the leaves on the bottom to be smaller. I have not pruned them either. I am waiting a little bit more, then i will take clones (the bottom smaller growth). Hey i am still going to do what i have been doing. I will keep posting and you will just have to look out when i post on what my yield came out to be............................. :) Oh yeah, one more thing. All the leaves should feel dry to the touch as i don't mist them and water or any moisture doesn't get to their leaves....
I'm not talking about the leaves formation, but the leaves symptoms. I am not talking about the size of the leaves either. The very bottoms leaves of the plant that I pointed out to you shows symptoms of over-fertilization as I previously posted. When I said 'check to see if these leaves feel dry to the touch', I was describing to you another symptom of over fertilization. These symptoms can occur when the nutrients the a soil mix become so concentrated that they draw water from the plant, leaving the leaves curled and dry. Right now, this has only begun on the lower leaves, but will eventually spread to other growth. How often do you fertilize and with what brand, N-P-K, etc.Quote:

What's the strength percentage of the recommended mixture that you are using? For example, full strength: 100%, half: 50%, 1/4: 25%.
I only water once a week...every 2 days sounds a bit much....also, don't think that just because it's a different strain that it's not going to follow the same guidelines as every other strain...they have their differences, but they all basically metabolize at the same rate (they all give off the same amount of heat, with some margin for error, therefore, they're metabolizing the food and water just about the same.) You want to make the plants' roots look for food and water, they'll get stronger that way and learn survival, so that if you screw up in the future, it might not affect them so much...the better the roots, the better the buds; I'm told that one over and over and over and over....and if you overwater and overfert...they'll get "spoiled" and won't do what they naturally do in the wild, spread throughout the dirt and FIND the water and nutes...and you can suffocate them from too much water or food...
Thanks for the advice!!!! :) I will no longer be ferting my ladies. I have already gave them ferts three times at once a week.

The directions on the box say to use 1/4 tablespoon per gallon of water. I follow that to the T.

Hey your right. I won't be giving them much anymore. But is 32oz of water enough for 9gal of soil once per week??
hmmmm....if your plants drink a lot of water and you notice it drying quickly, maybe twice a week, something like that...my plants are starting to drink more water now that they're growing....32 oz for 9 gal pot? Well, I use one of those plastic Solo cups with holes in the bottom of it, and fill it almost completely, for each of my plants in probably 1 gal pots or something like that...if you have drainage at the bottom of your pot, don't worry about it, just soak the soil and the excess will drain off...you wanna get it soaked but let it dry out really good before you water it again...if you don't have drainage at the bottom of your pot, you may want to consider repotting or making some kind of little holes for drainage, that's the surest way to know, let a little excess drip out before you decide you're done watering, but let all that dry out before you water again...good luck with your grow ;) jadeius
oh, by "soaked" I mean "saturated"...not "drowned"
