I think your best bet would be to travel to Santa Fe. I bet there are several possibilities there. I know that there are folks who will reccomend in Taos, Santa Fe, and Los Alamos for sure. Once the new wears off this law I will bet there are a whole bunch of nurse practitioners that will be available.Quote:

It wont take long for this to catch like wildfire. I read somewhere that Arizona is going to do MMJ Cali style. All states west of the rockies are going to pop wide open one of these days soon.
...Shoulda been years ago.
Thanks for the replies everyone. I have 1 recommendation already ( had to drive 5 hours to get it ) , Im just trying to get a second, but some doors may have opened up in the few hours that have passed since I started this thread, so hopefully in the next few weeks Ill get my other recommendation. A clinic ANYWHERE in the state specifically for this purpose would be amazing, especially for those of us in the more conservative parts of the state.
As in the southern part of the state?
Lol, yeah from what I've been hearing it's the whole southern half. It's weird how it seems like the doctors down here are TRYING to keep people on pharmaceuticals. My doc is giving me 60 percocet 10/325's a week and I TOLD the S.O.B. that Im abusing them and yet he will keep writing that script week after week. Im 25 years old and have already been through rehab for pills. It's sad that I have to break the law and hide things from my son and the rest of society just to get actual relief, yet if I wanna get f*cked up, all I gotta do is call up my pcp.
Or the northwestern part of the state.Quote:

We could call the Santa Fe New Mexican and the Albuquerque Journal, and make a splash in the paper. We could get with the few doctors that are willing and schedule as many interviews as possible. We might get a speaker or two from the local growers and that state senator fellow from Albuquerque that supports MMJ.
Who is up for a little old fashioned hippy type protest?
If I have my card by then, Im down to shake things up a little bit. I was actually thinking about getting with a reporter buddy down here and doing a similar type story and showing people that the days of " Reefer Madness " are gone, but I like your idea MUCH better. The only way we are gonna get anything to change is if we unify and make the message loud and clear. We need our medicine. Props bob.
If the condition you have is Chronic Pain and you already have your Primary Doctor's recommendation you need a 2nd from a specialist. Try a pain specialist or a Dr who specializes in the area of the body that you are affected.

Good luck and happy medicating.
Is it gonna slow down or possibly halt the process if neither doc is a regular doctor of mine? Also, has there been a halt on letting patients grow? If I don't have the option to grow down here where there isnt a dispensary, what other options are available?
One of the things that are slow is getting an appointment with a new Dr. It can take months if they are booked up.
As far as a personal grow license if you are an approved patient you can apply for your license and if all is in order you will get it. I think over 250 people have been approved to grow their own.

Cool, thank you. Good info to know.
Good luck.
Ok, one more quick question and I think I will have all the info I need. I live in an apartment that has 3 other apartments next to it, about 5 miles out side of town. Is me not owning my own home going to affect whether I can grow or not? I was going to build a carbon filtered grow box in my bedroom, with locks on the doors of the box and security cameras on the front and back door of my apt. With the design I have, you could never even tell what the box was without investigation and no one comes in my house anyway. Any info would help. Thanks.
I did a wardrobe grow in a 1 bedroom apartment, luckly i was on the bottom floor so it wasnt so hot and stinky. plus management has to give you notice before entering so just cover it up when they do. peace
Be careful what you say to the landlord.
Well what I am actually trying to ask is if not owning my own property would affect whether the board lets me grow legally. My landlord is a cool guy, and if I would need his permission Im sure I could probably get it, Im just worried that renting a place might affect whether the boards lets me produce for myself. I WOULD just say fuck it and grow anyway, but I have a 4 year old son and want to make sure I do things legally.

The politicians are really using this to pacify the people. They are in a heck of a position both on federal and state levels with the economy, and all of their corruption coming out. They also see the oportunity to get a whole lot of income from a budding new business (pun intended). So the administration is behind the MMJ program and wants them to basically turn away would be abusers of the program and permit the ligit people.
I also think that the main concern of the DOH people is that there are very few "incidents" associated with MMJ. Robberies, burglaries, growers producing commercial crops and things of that nature. Also kids and teenagers in the house and the situation in your family would be a big deal. It would be really BAD for the MMJ program to have black marks and really GOOD if people enjoyed this responsibly and tried to work within the laws...or pretty close anyway. Patients who need MMJ need the program to work. YES it is s tepping stone to legalization. YES it is a little bit closer to being able to grow 'em in rows like tomato plants... BUT WE GOTTA BE CAREFUL. And the DOH people know that really well!
So if your situation is good, your landlord is willing to say it is good, and you can have a conversation with DOH and get them to come out and personally look at the situation, I will bet you can get a permit.
Call 'em up. Make it happen. That is my strategy anyhoo.
Bob
Thank you sir. Thats the info I was looking for. I have no black marks on my record and I truly consider myself one of those "legit" people, so hopefully all goes well with it. Well, I think all the info I need has been gathered, and hopefully within the next few days I can get my second recommendation and be on the road to relief.
Sounds like you and I are at just about the same point. I will have my application all in order next Wednesday and will be hand delivering that baby to DOH with a great big smile on my face.Quote:
