So far there is 39, and that's in the wee hours of this morning. I wonder how many will have left by the time I return from work?

McCain will never win because of 3 reasons. He's too damn old, he is just not very smart and he has to much of a temper. A POW is not someone that I would want to have there finger on the big nuke button.
you're right, it'll be so much better having a liar in control.Quote:

There was a problem with the site in the link, and I was not able to see the article or view the list. But this is something that has been in the mainstream news lately as well. There were a few pundits after the VP debate who said they felt Palin did a lot better job of salvaging HER OWN image in the debate than she did helping McCain in the election --- some of them thought she was looking ahead to her own career after McCain loses. And there have been a few stories about McCain's primary rivals, like Huckabee and Romney, weakening their support of McCain, probably looking forward to 2012 as well. Some time back I posted an article about how 25 Republican candidates in Washington state, including the Republican who is running for governor, not listing Republican as their party affiliation! They are Republicans, but they don't want the word next to their names --- not only throwing McCain under the bus, throwing the whole party.
This election has the feeling of a total rout. Republicans don't seem to even be fighting their defeat --- they are breaking ranks, turning on each other, throwing down their weapons, and running for their lives.
We'll see, but I think it's a matter where if your to the right at all you'll be voting for McCain. Now Clinton was enough down the "middle of the road" where the lack of enthusiasm could have been a concern but Obama? Obama is SO FAR to the left where McCain is considered the lesser of two evils by any "conservative".Quote:

People can say what they want to friends, spouses, polls, etc., but in the end they're alone in the voting booth. Ever here of the Bradley effect? That will be playing a factor here and has in the polls. How many states was Clinton suppose to either lose or get blown away in but either come close or won?
Have a good one!:s4:
you have to wonder what America would be like of that nit-wit
Al Gore had been elected 8 years ago
Versus the way America is now because of the nit-wit that did get elected?Quote:

A VERY INCONVINIENT TRUTH: POWER: GORE MANSION USES 20X AVERAGE HOUSEHOLD; CONSUMPTION INCREASE AFTER ??TRUTH??:
The Tennessee Center for Policy Research, an independent, nonprofit and nonpartisan research organization committed to achieving a freer, more prosperous Tennessee through free market policy solutions, issued a press release late Monday:
Last night, Al Gore??s global-warming documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, collected an Oscar for best documentary feature, but the Tennessee Center for Policy Research has found that Gore deserves a gold statue for hypocrisy.
Gore??s mansion, [20-room, eight-bathroom] located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).
In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.
The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh??more than 20 times the national average.
Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh??guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore??s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.
Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore??s energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.
Gore??s extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore??s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.
??As the spokesman of choice for the global warming movement, Al Gore has to be willing to walk to walk, not just talk the talk, when it comes to home energy use,? said Tennessee Center for Policy Research President Drew Johnson.
In total, Gore paid nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for his Nashville estate in 2006.?
OK. We need to do carbon footprints of lots of people??but how do you measure it? House/houses size, cars, private jets??what else should we include. And how do you offset these with hybrid cars, solar heating, wind turbines, etc.?
We need an algorithm folks. Got one out there?"
ah, the nobel prize winning nitwit
yeah america is lucky they didn't have al gore for president or else they might not stuck in iraq while saddled with a $10 trillion national debt and a recession back home...then there wouldn't be anything to talk about here
look man, its not the prettiest of pictures either way, but its true. all politicians lie. i mean look at mccain. dude lies all the time and when he gets confonted he just kind of squirms and smiles.Quote:

stop being a spectator in YOUR government. and if you realize that they dont have your best interest in mind, then you just disassociate from them like i do. my life is my life and neither mccain or obama will change my plans. period.
maybe you could give us a few examples of where and when he lied?Quote:

Is that the video of Joe the UNLICENSED Plumber telling Obama that, with his 40k salary and plans to buy his boss's business, the 250k+ tax increase he's proposed has ruined his dreams?Quote:

Obama and McCain Tax Proposals - washingtonpost.comQuote:

However, if it's an incorporated business, McCain's plan is much better in the short-term for the cost of future deficits. McCain's tax for business is far more efficient than Obama's. Business taxation would be 10% less under McCain and Obama and the wealthy would make back twice their income, opening up for more investment. Unless you are making over 200K, investing is important to you, you are a business owner of a very successful sole properitorship, partner(s) or Limited Liability Corporation, you work in an industry that republicans tend to lobby for, you would be doing yourself an economic disservice to vote for McCain. It's simply the facts.
oh my god, are you fucking arguing over who is better to control you?!?
STUPID!
Thanks thcbongman for the link.
I have seen both proposals but I like the side by side comparison.
The conservatives must make a lot more money than me.
PS:
Trickle Down Economics have never worked.
TAX EM they have been sending jobs overseas for years they could care less about us, just profit.
Who will profit from the market crashes ? Only the people with money left, the rest of us will have to sell just to eat.
:s4:
So, am I hearing this right? Mccain's plan is to have more tax breaks for the wealthy to stimulate the economy? havent we been doing that the last 8 years, especially the last few months? going to war so the oil companies can have the biggest boon in their already very lucrative business, letting mortgage companies insure $60+ trillion in unsecured securities(them paying them for their "mistake" with imaginary money coming from us), encouraging sending every job they possibly can out of the country so stock holders can get an extra 1/4 of a point and the CEOs each get 50 million dollar checks............when does it end, when does big oil, big pharm and wallstreet have their greed for power and money satiated enough to let us move on as a species? unfortunately, I think its never.
that said, the economy is cyclical and it will rebound no matter who (thinks they) controls it, or who wins this election.
db:(
Sure if you say it that way it sounds stupid!!!Quote:

Didnt the Republicans have control of congress and the White house for a substantial amount of time since 2001? if he knew about it in 2001 why didnt they take care of it when they had the chance? democrats couldnt stop anything during those years.
so dems were protecting wallstreet based insurance companies, that sounds republican to me. gotta make sure your buddies are as rich as possible, right?

EDIT: sorry, i forgot we had evildoers to find so I guess the rest of the countries problems can wait till the last 6 months of office time.
Fannie and Freddie are NOT THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL!
There are a LOT of lenders that aggravated the problem, and they were only two of the many causes of the crisis.

Taxes: How did this get turned into take from the privileged give to the poor? What Obama is proposing is increasing the tax is on the Individual people that make over $250,000.00. Not Businesses, Our taxes go into a giant pool that is then divided up by congress. He is just shifting the burden.
Now for the business taxes: It is said that America pays some of the highest in the world. On paper this is true. But in reality there are so many loopholes in this tax system THAT IT IS SICKENING. I know small business owners and majoir corperations that use the loopholes to buy personal items and then claim them as business expense's. Sure you can say it is stimulating the economy. But wouldn't we all be better off if they stopped this practice and used that money to benefit us all. ( we have a failing infrastructure, roads and bridges, water and sewer systems, etc.) If we got rid of all the loop holes we could then lower this tax significantly.
I am no economist but IMO the only real fair way to tax us is to completely redo the tax system to a flat tax! Which neither candidate is proposing.
