you haven't seen anything yet
You have got to be kidding me!!
Some of those are Photoshopped pics, right? They have to be!!
All this time I thought my orange tabby needed to lose a few . . . he's sylphlike compared to those in the pics above!
My friend had a lardy orange longhair named Cupcake that was a good 30#. When she was sitting around (=all the time) she looked like a great big orange Tribble with ears. That cat no longer had a NECK. Fat cats are funny.
I know that the topic here is fat cats however take a look at the link below.
Brothers found guilty over 'grossly' obese dog | UK news | guardian.co.uk
There have been several instances lately in UK about owners being prosecuted for having obese pets I am sure there has been one about cats but I can't find a link to it. There have been a few about rabbits.
My opinion is that it is cruelty unintentional or otherwise as it seriously reduces the animals quality of life, but I am sure others will have a different opinion.

Poor animals look like some of todays young ppl. :D
Wonder how the obiesity affects their life expectancy ?
Betcha Weedhound would just about crucify these pet owners if they came through her vet .

Two different friends of mine have neighbors with kick-me dogs that are on diabetes medication after a lifetime of being fed table scraps and people food. One is almost completely blind. Two of them have to get daily shots. They all look like shit and don't seem to have much energy. Not cool; take care of yo' damn pets!
Dogs eat dog food. Cats eat cat food. People eat people food. Durrrrr.
While I agree that allowing your pet to become that obese is a form of abuse.. I would have to say it would pale in comparison to... oh... let's say... euthanasia :thumbsup:Quote:

LOL... opps...what if you were... say 5? :DQuote:

It was very hard and ummm hard. As far as flavor it was pretty bland. I guess if cardboard had a flavor that's what it would've tasted like.Quote:

Haha! Meanwhile, Dog is looking at your steak thinking about a trade...
lol!!! i have eaten dog bones before...nothing like being stoned outta your mind at work, cant leave, oh yeah....I've eaten a few milkbones...go ahead, laugh, but they actually weren't bad. curiosity is a bitch
So there goes your theory stinky!!!....lmao
I agree to the fact that its abuse. Stinky is right though. You can essentially "LOVE" your dogs to death. I give my dogs people food occasionally, but if its more than once a week even, my pit turns his nose up to the dry food. And they eat canidae and call of the wild mixed...not exactly cheap dog food....
the people food i do give them is usually just meat. maybe some potatoes, fruit occasionally, but its actually good for them. I dont give em McDonald cheeseburgers...lol REAL meat n stuff

I've got Pats on Merrick 'campfire trout feast' lately. That shit is EXPENSIVE lol but she just loves it and her coat looks better than usual. It smells like salmon and I suspect it's primarily salmon cannery waste, but hey, that's GREAT for dogs.
She always gets the bones out of my beef and pork- ribs, shank-bones, t-bones, ham bones when I do pea soup. Those are given as treats after she's had her food, to keep her busy while I'm at work. Otherwise she'll spend the day playing in my laundry basket, an I'll invariably come home to a pile of panties at the top of the stairs.
lol...Pats eating good! merrick is more expensive than taste of the wild..and fish is the most expensive...When the economy wasn't to shit and alot of people wanted their dogs trained, I fed em Orijen Wild caught six fish....they LOVED it...but shits 80 bucks for 33 lbs!!!

I think I'm paying $30 for 15# at the farmers co-op. Depending on how her skin looks when we are past this hot spell where she's been itching, I might go back to a mix of that and Nutrena herring/potato or just the Nutrena. It seems to be a solid food for the price. Pats is also my new jogging buddy. The little piggy acts SOOOOO much the martyr after a run around the block, when I've seen her dashing around the yard for hours on end with her dog friends... lol. I'm like, nice try, Pats... have some more water and stop frontin'. lol
sorry to be a killjoy but I really hate seeing animals like that. Poor things. :(
haha yes! minus the dare part...I guess curiosity was enough. I sat inside a shed that was constructed just to hold dog food (this was on a farm so pretty big bin) and uhh... well uhh.. about half pound of dog food later my mom found me :thumbsup:Quote:

That's sad.
The owners should be more responsible. The extra weight may limit the kitties future. The kitties will probably suffer from arthritis and malnutrition.
Oh! It's not nice to feed kitty too much...
my ragdoll cat died of old age a couple of weeks ago. and our fat cat #20 lost a couple of pounds since the dog has moved in. They do keep each other on their paws.
my dog prefers can cat food. likes chicken but fish is her fav. I give her kibbles and bits with a little can cat food each meal (2 a day).
The guy (Spike) in the pic below is 16 lbs and that's as fat as I want him to get , I have to agree that overfeeding isn't doing pets any good at all.
As for eating dog food , I have eaten Bonio dog biscuits on a couple of occasions when people have bet me I wouldn't.:D
