Hey folks , it's been a while .
I haven't had the time , nor the motivation to care for the usual DWC / Drip hybrid system we usually run . Kinda tired of the long long flowering time of 16-20 oz. phat girls anyways . Can't smoke all that wood that comes along w/ those grows either . Yep Stinky , I listened ;) . I've been quite envious of the selection / variety you've got too .

"Short Version"
We added a 1000w hps. and cooltube to the room since last time . 3000w and 435,000 lumen now . Temps peak at 88-90 degrees now though so hydro w/ 3000w is out of the question .

3 gal. pots . containing
1 gal. Ocean Forest
1 gal. Happy Frog
16 oz. worm castings
1/2 gal. pearlite
3 Tbl. Sp. Hydrated lime
And topped off w/ Pro Mix <- gotta get rid of this peat moss crap somehow .

Nutes are Latewoods recipe full strength every third watering once they were ready + KoolBloom and Sucanat late in flower .

We poped a whole mess of strains .

Most are 10 week or less strains . We went 10.5 weeks on almost all of them . We ended up w/ 17 good plants .

No time for sweet pics. yet . Maybe after it's dried and cured .

The purple plant is 1 of my favorites = Menage A Trois from Mist of Destruction . The other is Dutch Dragon from Paradise Seed Co.

Also a word of warning to VaporTek users . The lil green light on them is enough to cause veg. growth and hermies . Cover it up if you buy 1 . 1 CottonCandy stretched like hell from it , and 1 PowerPlant hermied from it .:mad:

As much as it spooks me , A burner / LP might fit our situation a lil better . We're at Home Cheapo 5 days a week = easy to swap LP tanks . All the gearhead friends would ask questions at the welding supply store about all the Co2 tanks , and they're not open on the weekends either .

Rhizome / or anyone else for that matter - Whats your take on all the basic Systems , controllers avalible ? The 40% increase in yield claims I'm seeing are prob. hogwash like the savings claims of a didi-ballast I bet ? I've only seen 1 person here lately playin w/ Co2 . :(

Single orifice burner @ ~400, scaling up to ~1200 for a commercial unit. Can't imagine a PS garden needing more than one orifice . ( Pauses for giggles). What's an LP tank cost these days, like $30? I know I pay $6 to refill a grill tank.

You can control either system with-

-A cheap 15min interval timer ~15
-A decent digi timer ~20
-A cycle timer (analog) ~110
-Cycle timer (digital) ~150
-A ppm controller ~450 and up

Well, w/ the tank the hazards are pretty much flooding the room w/ unregulated gas, and dropping the tank on yer foot/lap. I guess theoretically you could snap off the valve stem, but it's only 800psi, so it won't go off and do the rocket thing like an o2 tank.
Big danger is tank discharging accidentally, displacing air/02 in an enclosed space and causing suffocation. You'd need a very tight room, and to be leaking the volume of the room in co2 over a short period of time to do this, but it's possible. ( Guy I knew died this way w/ a tank of NO2.) If you don't sleep in yer room, I wouldn't worry about it.
And, obviously, all the compressed gas stuff- standard cautions.

W/ a burner, you have a lot of the same issues, plus the presence of an open flame in the grow. LP goes gaseous @ well below atmospheric pressure, has same leak factors, flammable gas, yada yada- but you usually catch leaks, because you can smell em. Modern burners have electronic ignition, so the pilot flame is no longer an issue. Installed by a competant person who has read and followed the installation instructions, and has a reasonable understanding of how to not catch shit on fire, and checks for complete combustion on a regular basis- I'd say the risk is about nil.
Again, you could drop the tank on your foot/lap.

Combustion CO2 has a co-generate of water vapor, and throws a little heat. Not a hazard, just a management issue. That, and the set-up cost, are why I'd rec a tank system for a small (6x6/under) room and a burner for a larger room.

Be aware that higher atmo co2 levels can cause pH drop, esp in a DWC rig- again, management.

Either way, delivery gear will last a lifetime, control gear less so. I don't remember the CO2 yeild ratio for LP, but I wanna say it's right around 50%, so 40# of propane will last about as long as 20# of gas. Check my math on that, though.

See list above. Right now I think the Sentinal stuff is the best bang/buck in the market, but YMMV. I don't trust the CAP stuff for this application- I know of one ppm-1 that stuck on and cooked the paint off of a burner. Long time ago, but scary...

You'll be freakin amazed what juicing a well tuned room can do. Think Nitrous- car's not running well, it won't go all that fast... Car's got a good mechanical tune and is running @ good effieciency already, and ya bleed in a little nitrous...yummy.

I've yet to see somebody introduce CO2 to a well tuned room and not have to tie the first run down off the lights. But if yer not already tuned, you get bupkus.

Think about how a dramatically increased growth rate is going to affect your process, and that should tell you if gas is something you want to play with.

It is possible to g(r)o(w) too fast.

I've talked a lil w/ a fellow grower whose giving the Co2 a whirl for the 1st time and done much research since reading your post here . I found that a furnace is the last damn thing I need in a room experiencing heat probs. already = a Burner / LP is out of the question . If and when it does happen it'll be a reg / cyl. system for sure .

Sealing the room isn't an issue but it's pretty big , like 4x as big as that 6x6x6 . = all the runnin w/ cylinders might not be an option w/ me in the position I'm in / w/c .

The only time the room hit 90 was 2 or 3 days I didn't run the Cent. a/c for myself . Spoiled bitches have a direct heat / a/c run too . I run lights at night so I'm not fighting the sun itself too w/ temps . Average hi temps were usually 83-84 . I'm gonna play w/ it a lil the way it is for a while .

We just drilld n welded a bung for an O2 sensor in our streetcars exhaust so we can run a handheld downloadable Air / Fuel meter to see A/F mix at W.O.T , Prt. Throttle , under a load . A 400 HP hit of shits coming real soon . :D Secondary fuel systems already run , A W.O.T switch , programmable delay , and progressive controller w/ rpm spike switch incase wheelspins a prob. the comp. will automaticlly back out of it so it can try to hook . Deep 10's on a Drag radial n look harmless .

What's up Keeko , Shov , N/D , Stealth , Dutch , And Marc too .

12-1 gallon glass jars 1/2 to 2/3 full depending on the strain . Your damn close bro. No acurate scale here .

It's not nearly as dense as my hydro stuff . I'm afraid to push it w/ nute strength in soil due to nute / salt build up , burn , lockout etc... I have never in my 20 yrs of tinkering gotten a plant to recover from nute lockout in soil for some reason , fuckers just stay in limbo ?

I been talking about that in paticular w/ Weedhound offsite too . I feed full strength nutes once every 3rd watering . Were thinking 2/3 strength every 2nd , or 1/2 strength every . I need a grow w/ all 1 damn stable strain or clones to do a controlled acurate experiment regarding pushing the feeding envlope .

What do you feed Dutch ? And how often ?
This WhiteWidow you speek of looks crazy man , 7 of these strains are new to me - WW being one of them . It honestly looks Frosted Flakes frosty man . The yield wasn't huge but I only got 1 good 1 so I mighta got a bum pheno etc... though ?

Same as you, man...:thumbsup:..every third watering. Generic 20-20-20 veg...10-52-10 bloom (flowering) ferts....plus a little mollases starting at week #4 into 12/12.

I had one of my WW's go into a 2 week "limbo" too, last grow...so I started adding a pinch of epsom salt in the water (something, I normally do from the start)...and the cola started growing again?..go fiqure.

I only grow in the fall/winter/spring. Too hot in the summer, and I only grow Nirvana white widow/white rhino. I just love that 10% amber: crippling high....:rhinoceros: ...I only have one 400 watt, CMH/HPS light. It does fine for me. (ps...WW is a light nute feeder)

Bottomline: Whatever, you are doing...it looks great to me. Enjoy.

Definitely interested in the outcome of your CO2 dilemma. I tried it 20 years ago using a tank and it bumped my yield by about 33 percent or so. Can be a pain in the ass if the room/cabinet is too big or limited overhead. Worth it = Yes. PITA = Yes (IMHO).
