What makes you cry?

I dont make what Im feeling a mystery, if Im happy, you will know it. If Im pissed, trust, Ill let you know. If Im sad, i usually hide it behind a stoic expression and vague responses.. I cant cry in front of people, with all the shit thats happened to me, I've learned to control how much emotion I let out.. most of the time if i feel the need to cry, you will see one tear.. not a word or even a sob. I've mastered the art of swallowing my tears so to speak. Yet i can also cry on command, which has come in handy a couple of times..

I'm generally a happy person.. I laugh alot, always making observations and making funny or smartass yet still funny comments about everything around me.. If youre with me, You will most likely laugh the entire time. Especially if theres is or has been weed involved.. Theres always the time when something I see or hear triggers the urge to cry.. for example, seeing a hurt animal, the old Zales commercial music before they changed it to stupid Vanessa Carlton.. Seeing or hearing about another young american dying a senseless death.. The Star Spangled Banner.. hahaha yes, i know its stupid.. someone, especially men ask "is it food yet?" when asking if whatever meal Im preparing is done yet.. long story behind that..
What triggers the urge to cry for you? No flaming.. please.. Who's man enough to admit why they cry?!?

I rarely, if ever, cry out of sadness. But I cry from frustration. When things in my life that should be working simply refuse to do so, I have a hard time with that.
When the man I love did the right thing by himself and his family and moved back to Alaska, I cried not from sadness, but from frustration that the 'right thing' meant that two people who love each other may never meet again.
When my dog died of lymphoma at only 5 years old, I cried out of anger that she was so young and was only just starting to blossom into a really great dog after I had spent the previous 2 years working her through issues from having been starved and beaten by her previous owner, and she had such a short time to be a cool, relaxed, housepet.
That's what makes me cry.

First, Id like to say that Im very sorry to hear about The Tess. But, at least she died with a mommy who loved her very much and no doubt was at her happiest to have found a caring soul to finish out her journey on this earth. Remember that all dogs go to heaven and she is now at the happiest she has ever been.. I also saw that the animal Gods have blessed you with another beautiful soul. Congratulations.
I hate it than when I get super mad, I cry. I want to yell scream, stomp, throw shit, punch someone or at least a wall, which I learned is not cool for my hand. yet all I can do is cry.. which pisses me off even more. frustration makes me destroy objects.. like breaking stuff.. im trying to stop that..

There is a hole in the drywall of my bedroom wall from a day when I was very frustrated to have come home from a 14 hour work day to find that my unemployed boyfriend of the moment had failed to do the ONE thing I had asked of him that day, which was to take out the recycling for trash day. I had 7 hours to shower, sleep, wake up, and drive to work for my 8am shift at the lab... My knuckles didn't feel so hot afterwards, but better the wall than his nose. Frustration is the emotion that I am most afraid of because it is the only thing that causes me to lose my cool.

Agonizing physical pain makes me moan and whimper like a little kid but crying does not happen anymore.
I am a man, tears are for women to use as a weapon against us.:D

sometimes when im stoned i will look at my kids
and then start thinking some awful shit
like i might picture my son getting hit by a car
or my daughter dying in the mountains...just crazy shit
my eyes get all waterty and i feel like hugging them

some movies get me all emotional
i try and hold it back or look up so tears dont fall
even some kids cartoons are sad ....i think its cuz im high and i get carried away
its fun though

but for serious matters i wont shed a tear

Sitting in a chair getting ready to fire up a bowl and getting in such a hurry I knock it over and spill all my weed on the floor. That'll make me cry every time. Or if I have already smoked a little and knock it over I laugh my ass off.:D

Running out of weed......and the movie Saving Private Ryan...misplacing weed but then I find it and I cheer...

I tend to always think too much, or analyze situations or life in general, and i often get messed up. Confusion is one of the things that makes me cry the most, when too many questions are left with no answers...
Also i'm scared of death. Not of dying myself of course, but of seeing all the older people i love die over the course of my life. I haven't lost much people yet, but my father is like reaaaaaaaaally sick, doing experiments to cure leukemia at the final stage, with 2yrs of life remaining max, and 50% chance of failure. And when i see my grandparents who were in huge families saying they dont even have 1 brother or sister left out of 15, and even their friends, it makes me think how life must suck when you're alone..its just sad..
Hah and i just realized thinking too much about death creates confusion also, how everything's linked eh..

I was brought up with the mentality that crying is a waste of time and energy. I've only cried a handful of times in my life. Once when i was 10, and once recently when my friend was diagnosed with MS. That was through shock though.

I still get sad - i still feel pain [although since my back trouble my pain threshold is through the roof - i nearly cut my thumb off a few months back and i laughed and didnt bother going to hospital untill i nearly passed out from blood loss.] but i just dont cry.

I dont know weather thats a good thing or not.

I don't boo hoo cry too often, but I do tear up a lot. Oh lets see, I can get all teary eyed at silly things such as Extreme Makeover Home Edition, and countless movies to real things like thinking of something unspeakable happening to my family.

Stinky and Hilder- I feel yall for sure. I cry out of frustration more than real sadness and I don't outright break things, but I am a thrower which winds up in some broken things. I cry and then I throw. It helps, god knows why, but it does.

I do cry easily. I tear up practically two or three times a week just watching the news or during conversations about various things w/ my friends. These are the things that can make me cry if they hit me at the right time:

When I see or hear about violence against babies or children
When I see or hear about violence against domestic animals or other inhumane treatment of them
When I see or hear about extreme pain or violence between domestic partners, at least under several circumstances. I volunteer in this area, so I see a lot of it and am a lot less sensitive about it than I used to be.
When I hear hatred and racism, which are the same thing, and when I see terrible poverty
When I look at my enormous son and think that he was once just a little infant baby boy and now look at him. Where did the time go? (I teared up as I wrote that.)
When I miss my sister or hear of anyone having to suffer through cancer or painful terminal illnesses. I cried last year when Geonagual was going through the loss of his mom. (I teared up as I wrote that.)
When I think about past pets who've had to be put to sleep.
When I think about the fact that my parents are getting older and frail and won't be around forever, particularly my mom.
When I think about two of my now deceased grandparents who I was particularly close to or when I think about the pregnancies I miscarried and wanted so badly to be able to successfully carry to term.
I will cry like a baby this May when my son graduates college. He's already bracing his friends for it.

I'm not constantly sitting around in a weepy puddle about these things, but when something catches me on a deep emotional level, I'll cry about it and not just let the emotion go unexpressed. I need to get mad more of the time than I do. Several of the things up above get me mad, too, like hatred and racism and violence against children/animals/domestic partners, and I need to express it more as anger than I do.

Lest y'all term me a basket case, I'll add that I cry for joy a whole lot, too. And I laugh way more than I cry.

movies ( the pursuit of happiness for instance ) make me tear up, and when alot of pressure is put on me i usually get teary eyed for some reason

Movies get me, too, Nolan420. I've been putting off "The Pursuit of Happyness" because I know it'll get me.

I had to put my face in my hands and sob briefly after the movie "Atonement," which is out now. It was the idea of war and thwarted love and unreconciled grief.

When someone is so unhappy, and the only way to help is for them to realize they need help, and they don't.

I cry because I can't be the person many people have expected me to be.

Isnt it? BG and Geo's posts made me choke up a little..LOL. that post up there "every time ET goes home" made me laugh for awhile.. friendowls post is heartwrenching, stinky, we on the same river, diffrent boat. wow, i didnt think this threat would turn out be so nice...seem this is why I love this place. I miss yall.. Ive tried to move on, but this place is comfortable for me. I just cant stay away.. its become home, and yall have become my friends.. aww hell, now I feel like crying..

Personal tragedies aside like the loss of a friend or loved one I would have to say...

Music. Damn Billy Joel singing Piano Man gets me every time. My room mate can always tell how I'm feeling because of the type of music I listen to while toking. Or when something happens to someone who makes the music I listen to. Dime dieing was hard just because I have been listening to Pantera since I was 10. Layne dieing was also hard. Kurt and Bradly Nowell, more so Brad because I had some older brothers of my friends who were really into them.

As you can see I have a very music centered life, too bad I can't play an instrument to save my life. I really don't see it as a bad thing, but I'm always the guy that people as when they want to know the name or artist of the song. As long as it's rock I can pretty much name them all when I listen to them.

Dogs in pain always made me cry. Especially Fry's Dog in Futurama and the old dog in Homeward Bound. :(

Lonliness, constant rejection can break me down sometimes. Listening to Neil young really high in the dark can be quite emotional, its brought tears to my eyes before. Though i was thinkin about my ex when listening. Oh yeah, extreme physical pain. ouch

Standing at my brothers grave for a while gives me that really bad lump in my throat.
I've seen a movie that made my eyes "well up", but it is a emotional story. Dead Mans Shoes, my favorite movie.
Other than that, I guess being psychically in pain, specifically cut and bleeding.

This made me tear up yet again (no big surprise there).

I've felt like crying these last few weeks seeing much-loved, long-term members feel like they had to leave. That's very hard on people like me, who love you guys as my friends on a very deep level. So Hilder, nothing made me want to weep from joy more than your post above.

If there were one message I could send to the folks in our wonderful "circle" here, it'd be this: Try to roll with the punches. Why not wait and see what happens? Realize that even if the forum takes a slightly different priority direction, we'll still have plenty of social interaction, which we thrive on. Medical cannabis may increasingly hold the top spot, but a lounge where folks can talk like this will likely always be a part of the place somewhere, and that's a necessity.

To be effective ambassadors for cannabis, we above all need to come together and form a bond that strengthens our resolve. It's our social interaction that allows us to do that and affirms our recognition that cannabis lovers are deeply and truly nice, smart, fun people. I really love how this main lounge has had a resurgence of fun, provocative threads that bond us because that's exactly what we need to do right now to feel comfortable amidst all this change.

Every time I hear Southern Cross I get choked up from the power of the words. Same with Bob Seger's 'Roll me Away'. I guess it's pretty emotional to hear anyone talking candidly about choosing to just walk away from whatever it was that they were comfortable in their lives. Those two songs just get me every time. It's the frustration over the futility of the path you're on that does it.

i cry easily, very easily, normaly i can rate a movie by the number of times i cried in it. (lion the witch and the wardrobe got 12). i cry when childrens dreams are snuffed out and i cry when people hate something they dont understand.

i cry a lot.

but for now, i cry over why people need to tell me what i can and can not do to my own body.

And that episode of Futurama with Fry's dog, Seymour gets me, too.

Yes, Thank you all for participating and making this a thread I am proud to have started.
I dont have a problem with the site taking a diffrent direction and focusing on the medical aspect of marijuana. I believe it is a step in a positive direction, and I hope it becomes a contributing factor in the legalization of the plant we all love. I understand that we have no say in the direction that the owner wants to take his site, it is after all his to do with as he pleases. However, there was no explanation, not even a warning. when we asked, the mods appeased us by saying that it was being tweaked to make it better, but, at least I didnt expect for it to become what it has. It is still a quality site with quality members and information, but once the changes came into play, the atmosphere and the feedback we got gave off the impression that we, recreational users were no longer welcome here. every question was met with a slam or a threat of a ban. the whining did get out of hand, gotta hand yall that. toward the end i got tired of reading about it too. it was a hostile place for a bit there, and that is not what I came here for. This site holds some of the smartest, most compassionate, warm people I've come across in a while and I will alway remember everyone I interact with regularly fondly. I dont think I can leave. Even if its not what it used to be and I miss the sexuality forum the most.. lol.. I had some laughs there.. I wish I our Virtual Circle could be a real circle.. Id love to blaze with yall.. I've met a few people from the site and met a couple who were really cool and still see regularly.. but most of yall are far away.. :(

For day, after day, after day. AAAAHHHH CRAP I better stop. Boy when I get serious, I get serious. Well, that stuff, and any other desasterous crap that can happen in life. That stuff will make me break down , and cry like a baby, fall on the ground, going into convulshuns, and other realy scarry shit. Sad movies, Phenomenon, Love Story, Bryans Song. Sad stories, Terms of Endearment. Sad songs, The Living years. These things have drawn a tear from my eye, these are the tears you are looking for.
