What crazy things did you believe as a little kid?

Life was fun in the earliest years, wasn't it? We hadn't developed a firm grip on reality yet, and it could thus be made to conform with our imaginations. So I'll go first:jointsmile:

- When I was 3 me and my friend believed in "the dungeon". That is, we believed that if you dug deep enough into the Earth, at any place, you would eventually reach "the dungeon". Which would of course entail the cliche dark lair of stone, chains, bars and the such.

- I had no idea men shaved. Rather, I thought some just grew beards and some didn't. Some guys grew mustaches, some goatee's, some nothing at all.

- When my friends and I were discussing how babies were made, we came to the following conclusion based on a distorted organization of the facts: A woman and a man get married, they both agree they want to have a baby, and so she gets pregnant. Then when it's time to give birth, the woman goes to the hospital where the doctor puts his penis in her, thus inducing labour. LOL, ah innocence.

- For some reason I thought Canada had conscription. And so my plan was, when the military recruiter came to my house and said I had to go to war, I would say "alright, just let me get my gun" (to take to war). Then I'd come out with it, shoot the recruiter, and with the recruiter dead I'd be free from having to serve.

I really thought that you could dig to China. Kinda like your Dungeon thing.

I thought the world was gonna end in the year 2000..also, I never let my covers hang over the edge of the bed in fear of something under the bed grabbing them

Ha ha , my parents are to blame for this belief..I believed that if u played with your belly button ur ass would fall off...lol..Now thinking back what was their problem with me playin with my belly button.......wierd.:wtf:

I thought there were probably monsters under my bed and, if not there, in my closet or in the bathroom shower.

I thought that if two people kissed, it meant they were married. That seemed obvious to me from "You may kiss the bride" at weddings. Consequently I didn't think I'd ever get married because I was too shy to be kissed in public.

I thought Santa Claus was scary. Had to go get my parents or big sister up to go with me into the living room on Christmas morning in case he might still be there, and I refused to sit in his lap for pictures in photography studios. Seriously, what self-respecting kid wants to get close to a big, fat, hairy, red-faced, white-bearded stranger and smile for a picture?

I thought a jet engine in an airplane was the same thing as a rocket engine, so when our family traveled by plane, I was always sure we'd shoot straight up in the air like NASA spacecraft did and braced myself hard against the back of the seat.

I thought nuclear war was an imminent danger. There was so much talk about the nuclear arms race and the Cold War when I was a little kid in the mid and late 60s.

I really believed as a child that there was a such thing as Mary Weatherbee(a ghost).

Around the time 'Home Alone' came out, I made a "burglar alarm" it made a mess out of the hallway and den. I was so pissed off when my mom made me clean it all up. I actually believed shit like that would work.

I really believed that my dolls and toys came to life at night, I would sneak in my room and turn on the light and scream "CAUGHT YOU!" expecting to see my toys scrambling back to their places.

Oh also, I had a friend that believe when he was younger that the Earth might spin off it's axis. He would wake up in the middle of the night crying from nightmares about it.... weired, but little kids are :wtf:

Oh yeah..I believed if they let Charles Manson out of jail he would come and kill me

My little brother, who has Aspergers Syndrome, believed he was a different species than other people because he felt different and actually related to animals better. He said his species was the "Paddy" (his name's Patrick, we call him Paddy) and thought there were other Paddy's out there, somewhere.

Ha! Would you believe that I used to believe that Cannabis was a dangerous drug? I used to think it was bad and would ruin my life...

I used to believe that there were monsters and that toys came to life. When I was little me and my cousin seriously believed we saw something at his house move. I was especially scared of porcelain dolls. For this reason I almost always slept with the covers over my head.

i thought my sisters dolls stole my things when i was asleep and returned them
i thought the tooth fairy was gonna punch me in the mouth and steal my teeth
i thought that dinosaurs where a indangered species
and i was always wondering when i was little what would happen if i dug a hole from one side of the earth to the other what would happen if i jumped in
like would i stop in between or would i just keep going just keep falling

those two are the only things I think were crazy

When i was young the jason movies was huge. So if it was dark out, i wouldn't go outside or no where around water. I used to believe jason came from the lake down the road from my house. Who as kids always thought when you walked past a grave someone was going to reach out the grave & grab your leg?

haha, dude...Jason really does live in the swamp man...you know we done seen some crazy shit there...

I used to believe that if I slept with my wrists turned up a vampire would come get me...

also I used to believe I was dying of cancer, but that was right after my dad died of cancer...so...

I actually have a memory of believing that magic is possible.. very long time ago :smokin:

Steven King made me fear that just recently...if you haven't, red the wastelands...it's one of the dark tower series...that'll definitely make you remember why you were afraid of trains with faces...

Okay... this is a bit gross. But when I was a kid (like 3 - 5 years) I started to notice that no matter what colour of food I ate, it all came out brown. I came up with a theory that was a factory just on the inside of my bum that processed, packaged and "brown bagged" my terd before letting it fly it into the toilet. Yeah... I'm fucked!

this is so odd and idk how my mind came up with this, its not like someone told me this either. idk how old i was but i must have been really young because i can remeber thinking that wen i ate there were little m&m's in my throat that would pull this lever that would open this metal trap door type thing that would let all the food go to my stomach. i was even crazier back then. ahaha

I always thought at night that there was someone sitting outside the window with a gun waiting for me to fall asleep so he could shoot me. I would actually look out my window to make sure.

I also thought weed was bad for you.

At a very young age I actually believe that only black men were allowed to play in the NBA. I didn't find this discriminatory either, as I had no concept of racism, I just thought it was a biological fact that white men can't jump lol.:D

I used to think I lived in the most free place on earth, and that all people were great............................................. .......What a thing to think but I was only a little Sativa and not even MAD yet.

i used to think when i was little that the teachers lived in the schools lmao!

I used to think that the only time people had sex was to get pregnant.

i thought that if i went downstairs to late or got out of my bed i would be attacked by someone

when I was 8 We had our old christmas tree in the backyard and I lit it on fire thinking if it gets too big I would just pee on it....Man,that thing lit up quick and I yanked my pants down to pee and I was all scared my older brother caught me dancing around the fire with my pants down,I couldnt squeeze out a drop and it was really terrifying man.......Even to this day I get teased about it as being some horny pyromaniac who was trying to get his rocks off to a rageing fire.

I believed that dogs and cats were the same species. Cats were girls, and dogs were the boys. I have no idea where that idea came from.
