friends with benefits: ideal human relationship?

i think this is where the human race is going, sex-wise. think about it:

friendship is arguably the best kind of relationship. unlike parents, siblings, lovers and offspring, friendship can easily last your entire life. no matter what age you are - child, adult, elder - you always have friends. in friendship you have love but without attachment, dependency or commitment. it's free.

and what's the best thing you can do with a friend of the opposite sex? have sex, of course. i don't need to explain why sex is so great.

so, friend + sex = near-perfect relationship. that is, if everyone did it. right now, the clashing majority of traditional pair-bonding and the minority of friends with benefits sparks jealousy and confusion. yes, there is the problem of STDs, but personally, I believe that STDs are a result of all the negativity we now associate with sex. i think casual sex would promote a much healthier societal attitude on sex, thus making sex itself healthier.

it's simply another stage in human sexuality. our ancestors had the animalistic "fuck any stranger you see" approach until we developed pair-bonding. and until recently, the concept of sexually-active friends was pretty much unknown. every "friend-with-benefits" i've spoken to agrees that it's much more enjoyable than a committed relationship.

and that's my rant. destruct or support it as you wish.

friends with privelegges or benefits is a lot better then a relationship. no stress, no heart ache. just sex.

Nah, friends with benefits is cheap. Find love...it's out there, I promise. I can have sex with a stranger and never see them again, but I cannot have sex with a friend and still be just a friend the next day. I either sit there and feel wronged that we're not moving on the next step or I feel shy like we shouldn't have done it in the first place. Too complicated.

Friends with benefits does not work... I have done it... and all it does is make the girl hate you after it is done... That is what is so awesome about marriage... it is suppose to be your best friend... but also your life partner... however people now adays seem to like to marry to early... or not know a person before they marry them.. hence all the divorces...

Yeah i used to be like that, but i also beleave that there is a one and only for everyone, i never thought i would fine that person but i have. and wouldn't trade her in for all the pussy in the world :D (ok i might be lying there ;))

Tough call...both ppl have to be in the same place, so to speak. Feelings sometimes get in the way. But I think if it's just once or twice it can stay just for fun. But if it becomes a regular thing, then it becomes a relationship all on it's own and who wants a good time to become a relationship? :rolleyes:

Its not always the girl who gets hurt, i was doing the friend fucking thing and the guy totally started getting real heavy and i soo wasn't in that place. The only way it can work is if u both feel the same and that rarely happens.

I can relate to this post. I'm in 1.... maybe 2 (i relapsed) of these right now. I may sound slutty which is horrible but I'm just mostly confused about what I want from life. I have to say friends with benefits sucks... ass. Especially the people I've choosen. The most current guy doesnt kiss because he only does that if he is in love (which then he doesnt have sex) or he is drunk. Neither of those is he around me. I secretly like the guy more than he knows... but I could never tell him. About two weeks ago he said... "my name. you want all this romantic shit but that isnt what this is." and before that "yeah its fun. sex is like a game.". Hows that for nice. :( Oh well I have emotional stability issues where I feel like everybody has to like me and I know if I said "no more" then everything would be messed up. The hard part is seeing them at school everyday, I'm only 16 and perceived by most to be a well good-girl who doesnt smoke pot or ever had sex. Yeah we are pretty good friends in the public's eye but sexual partners in the privarity of our places. So basically.... i think friends with benefits is HORRIBLE. I don't even know why I do it. :mad:

i think that everyone has different needs and desires. so, what would be perfect for one could be wrong for another. what i'm saying is that your ideal relationship depends on you. :)
personally speaking, i dont like shallow relationships. having sex deepens your relationship to another level even if you dont want it to. those feelings cannot be smothered by denial no matter how much youd like it to :cool:

Obviously, friends with benefits is not the ideal relationship for everyone. many people find safety and security in pair-bond relationships, and are not ready for the uncontrollability(is that even a word) of FWB relationships.

Friends with benefits is lame. It fucks with your head.

i agree with that...but i think most humans can get attached...eventually. which will blow up in your face or hurt her feelings(now no one wants that. thats just crule)
