Love at first sight?....not exactly but wtf

Ok, i find it odd how every once and a while there will be someone you get to know though a party, school, whatever, who you just become randomly fixed on. It doesn't matter how well you know them (most often rather someone you don't know at all), but all you want to do is be with them.

Keep in mind, this doesn't have to be a total knockout in terms of looks, but there is some untangeable aspect about them that just draws you in. Maybe this, like love, is unexplainable, but either way it is an odd thing that seems to happen every once in a while...........particularilly right now for me, involving a girl i met at a party. Despite her good looks, there was something else, like some greater power that was begging me to be with her, which is exactly what i feel is going to happen...

christ...am i on the same page as anyone else here?

OP, i know EXACTLY what your talking about. For the past summer i've been totally in love (not really but you know) with this friend of a friend, the girl lives 35 miles away, tho

Its not that odd. I have recently developed a "crush" on someone I have known since freshman year of highschool, which was ages ago. Didnt like them back then, do so very much now.

Best bet is to just go with it. Give it your best shot.

I always attribute that phenomenon to pheromones when it happens. It still happens even when you're old and married, only you don't act on it. (Well, some people might.) It's some chemical-attraction thing that just connects you.

Do you think that it happens when you're both compatible.. I mean, does it generally mean that the other person is also feeling it? Cause once in a while when it happens to me then the young lady starts to get squirmy like a little kid who has to pee and I'm not sure if she's feeling it too or if she is uncomfortable or if she actually just has to pee. (BTW, I know it sounds like a dumb middle school question but I had middle school at home with my mom and sister and then in high school it was just really too awkward to talk to girls so I really don't know anything. I'm 27 and yes, I know how lame this sounds so if you're gonna flame me take your best shot it won't bother me a bit.)

Thats the nail on the head for the most part. You would be suprised what you can attribute to pheromones.

Most times that you see that person that you just immediately want, but dont know why, thats pheromones.

Your lover seems to be just so much more sexy today, for no apparent reason? Its likely its pheromones.

Those little bastards have a hand in alot of what goes down with interaction between humans. And its not just in men->women women->men. It happens between those of the same sex too, but in a slightly different way, not so much the sexy, but more of the respect and honor kind of thing.

maryjanehaze, that feeling you get i know it and personally i cant explain it anymore that the soul connection. there are so many people you meet in this life that you like perfectly well, hell maybe even fall in love with. but there are very few that you well, you click with. people put it down to many attributations. a biologist would put it down to pheromones and our biology and i would agree to an extent. but then i have always believed and still do in a spiritual and unexplainable side to the human psyche. scientist and philospohers have debated it for centuaris, but that feelin well, everyone knows it and maybe those who don't well, they don't allow themselves too.

but then again i don't know you age and im not saying young people don't feel it. just when i was 15 16 alot of the times i thought i had really connected with someone, turns out i just wanted to get laid. but its the finding out that counts. in that when we got down to the nitty gritty of conversations and psyche we were worlds apart after the inital cock thinking.

there is only way to find out

I actually found the quote by Meher Baba while researching Pete Townshend, formerly of The Who. He's an interesting fellow. I'd watch television interviews w/Townshend and what not, then after listening to one of his songs "Pure & Easy," where he shares his religious beliefs, my interest was peaked. Meher Baba is quite interesting too. He was very popular around the times of the counter-culture, especially so. Everyone was high! Some could handle and some couldn't. I'll talk about it more later when I've put in the appropriate thought. I think it's pretty self-explanatory though lol.

yo i like your take on this snowblind and ganj, its weird because it seems like it would be so natural and common, just a shadow of a thought, but for some insane reason fate also. I am 17 years old, and this girl and I have hung out several times after previously mentioned party. We happened to meet again at an open house party and ended up getting decently drunk and all over eachother in this upstairs bedroom. It was intense, and thankfully not a one time thing. I picked her up later and we got high and went swimming and are continuing to hang out and her friends and mine are starting to know eachother really well. Even though most would say this is just cute social hooking up it seems like way more. Just thought id give the update, and that for some reason it wasnt a "go for it" situation, really, it just kinda fell into place.:thumbsup:
