Plant from femmenized seed has seeds...

Hey Guys,

So much to my dismay I've discovered my femmenized Master Kush plant on week 7 of flowering has seeds. I thought the swelling of buds was just the buds getting denser in the last days of flowering but there's no denying they're seeds.

So I assume my plant turned into a hermie from either a light leak or some other form of stress - what I'm wondering is if the seeds I get from this plant are going to be femenized as well? If so, that's pretty awesome and I'm not quite as upset

Any input would be appreciated!!

get used to it ... 'feminized' seeds SUCK :mad: ... now, you not only have a hermaphroditic plant, but you also have seeds that will produce more hermies ... destroy it (by smoking, of course:jointsmile:), but don't perpetuate that bad trait ... and, don't waste future $$$ on 'feminized' seeds :smokin:

:( That's sad. WTF hadn't I heard about fem seeds sucking before? I've been reading/growing for about a year now. All my previous grows were males (3 times all males) which is why I decided to go the fem route... incredibly expensive seeds ordered from over seas. Man, what a freakin buzz kill...

it sucks to hear that dude i thought feminzed seeds where the dogs bollox to because of the hefty price tag and i got 6 feminized seed off my bro which i was gonna start after ive finished my mates grow for him :(

that sucks man. what site did you order them off of?

you sure hit a bad string of luck ... hey, it happens to most of us ... hopefully, your future odds just took a big leap, and you have all the bad luck behind ya :thumbsup:

They were Dutch Passion Femmenized: Master Kush off of Online Growshop Ali�«n . Definitely not very happy to hear this but what can ya do?

I guess next time I can try harder not to stress the plant. It grew a lot bigger than I had anticipated so I wasn't fully prepared.

don't give up yet ... you may get some good females, just be sure to look carefully for developing male flowers throughout your grow ... if your plants don't turn hermie, you're good to go ... it is VERY common to get hermies, but, it doesn't 'always' happen ... my major complaint with the 'feminized' seedplants, is making seeds from them, and continuing the problem ... they're still excellent to smoke, no damage done there :jointsmile: ... :smokin:

I just harvested a couple of my Dutch Passion White Widows, grown from their 'regular', cheaper seeds - got 5 females, 5 males, some of my worst 'sexing' results ever, but they DID germinate very fast, were fresh ... :smokin:

harvest as normal. next time round grow a strain thats slightly more immune to stress.

I had one hermie from 12 feminized ice seeds a while back, they say if you temp goes over a certain temp you got a good chance of it happening.

damn, that sucks, o well, maybe all this bad luck will somehow give you better luck in the future...i dont know. haha

btw..what are feminized seeds?

feminized seeds are supposedly supposed to be guaranteed females when u grow them :thumbsup:

o wtf, how come ive never heard of that! haha, how can you tell though, i thought that it was sortof an myth that you could tell. like with the vains and the shape and the Volcano on the bottom and what not. does it actually work??

You can't tell by looking... we recently covered that on anoher thread... but you can guarantee fem seeds by selfing a female plant with forced herm -> male sex parts that will produce pollen with no Y chromosome, giving only XX seeds which will express as female.

now i never knew that part about it :) so i suppose thats why there a bigger risk of your plants turning hermie because its kinda allready half hermie :wtf:

you are exactly right! the origin of fem seeds is by definition from a forced herm, and you don't know HOW the herm was forced, or if you are going to unknowingly re-create those conditions in your own grow... chemical herms- gibberellin- are one thing but photoperiod stress is easy to unwittingly recreate and end up with your own crop of feminizd beans... in the bud you just wanted to SMOKE lol! :D

So the seeds that will be in this bud are going to be femenized seeds, not full hermies?

i had the same problem with my arjan's haze #3 femalized.

i was growing 2 plants and my brother inlaw was growing 1 plant and we both ended up with with seeds, 1 of my plants was fine and the other had seeds about 50 seeds, not many but still its seed, was well gutted cos these babys took 13 weeks to flower, still the weed tasted pretty nice.

these seeds came from the green house company.

also bought some white widow femalized seeds when i bought those and started those seeds about a month ago, all seeds popped but when they come to sprout from the pots nothing happened . finally 1 seed sprouted from the soil and the other 4 was just a no show :(

i wont be buying greenhouse femal seeds again.

Unless you have complete control in your growroom don't even mess around w/ feminised beans . You can't have any stressors in the grow or this will happen every time .

I have used feminised seeds with almost all my latest grows, and i suffered from hermies for the first grow as i had no extraction system. Though now i have a completely controlled setup im not worried about hermies.
The only reason i now use feminised is so that i can grow several strains together without having to grow double the plants to sex them. I now have 4 strains growing [8 plants ,2 of each strain] and have only had to germinate the 8 seeds i used.
Like xcrispi says above don't bother with feminized unless ur sure u wont stress them, but given the correct conditions they can save u space in ur growroom.

Order your feminized seeds off of Marijuana Seeds (cannabis Seeds) High Quality Low Prices. The price is not cheap but the strains kick ass. I ahve bought quite a few seeds off of that site and have received all of them in high quality. Even the regular seeds have high female to male ratio.

the seedbank you link us to doesn't seem to carry name-brand seeds ... I would be quite sure they are just selling 'knock-offs' from legitimate breeders (if there is such a thing, as a 'legitimate' breeder these days :D) ... I suggest your money could be better spent at one of the more commonly-used seedbanks ... a 'new' seedbank pops up amost daily, everybody trying to make the 'fast buck' ... usually, these new seedbanks are posted up by a new member, too :wtf:
