to help this never ending war with spider mites, i bombed my room three times before switching the lights down and still two weeks later there were some little fuckersthat survived. die hards. i know this fucks are waiting just before harvest to just infest with there little colonies of fucking. u know they reproduce every six hours. must be all that tch sap just driving there hormones crazy, making web bridge's, and shag houses all in between my purple urkle buds. its my first time trying this method, seeing if any one out there has had success with this? don't want to use and sprays, organic or not.

I know, mites are tough work. I'll be interested in following your ladybug attempt.

Use a small dish with pebbles and fill with water leaving some of the pebbles above water. Ladybugs will live longer when they have something to drink ;).

Good advice on the water for the ladybugs ... The Borg be tough ... especially fighting them organically. Chemically, piece of pie or is that cake? I won't do cannabis that's been exposed to chemicals ... man-made chemicals that is ... are their any naturally occurring chemicals? Anyway, I've tried tobacco, pepper and numerous other 'teas' and had varying degrees of success with some of them ... ah, but they never beat The Borg! Neem oil, green soap, dilute lye nothing totally irradicated them ... 'cept for a chemical, the name of which escapes me now methly something or other ... trust me it's not important ... you don't want to use this crap ... it would be like taking poison ... not good!
Bottom line, fight 'em organically with everything you can teas soaps etc. everyday! Control 'em ... minimize 'em ... if you can wipe them off!
Harvest ... dry ... cure (very important).
Now ... clean every surface in the growroom, nursery, etc. AND every piece of equipment ... to say again ... EVERY PIECE OF EQUIPMENT, lights, fans, ducting, everything with a 10-15% solution of bleach and water.
There, isn't that better ... now you're ready to start growing in a Borg free environment.
Ya gotta keep at keeping your growing environment clean, not silicon wafer steril, but clean dam it!
Don't wear your outdoor gardening clothes in ya growroom, eh!
Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it ... cause it's server me right these many years.
Later,
Helen

Pyrethrum can be made into an insecticidal spray. It's what most commercial "green earth" products are made from.
I have some growing in the garden but haven't had a need to try.
Ohhhhh shiiiit. JINX.

Pyrethrum didnt help me, but it did burn the buds.

MYBE I SHOULD HAVE DONE A LITTLE MORE RESEARCH. APON FRIST LETTING THE ARMY GO, THEY SWARMED AROUND LOST AS FUCK. AND SINCE I DIDN'T LEAVE THEM IN THE REFRIGERATOR LONG ENOUGH THEY ALL STARTED FLYING AROUND(THEY DONT FLY IF THERE UNDER 55 DEGRESS), EVERY WHERE BUT THE PLANTS. I READ ABOUT THE WATER BOWL WITH ROCKS TO LATE. SO NOW I HAVE 4300 DEAD LADYBUGS I HAVE TO CLEAN UP. I'D SAY THERES ABOUT 200 STILL HALF ALIVE. FROM WHAT I'VE READ LADYBUGS ARE MORE APHIDE KILLERS THEN MITE KILLERS. THATS 32$ DOWN THE DRAIN. LIVE AND LEARN. NEXT ASSAULT WILL BE THE GREEN LACE-WIG LARVEA.

How anti-climatic. I was anticipating reading all the details of a bloody borg war, but all that happens is the defending army dies.
Hope you have better luck with the larvae!

lets revive this since ladybugs are great garden additions
i love em cuz they do some damage to mites (none this grow) and look cool walking around on plant.
unfortunately, they have a way of getting caught in the cfls and dying, or stepping between the contacts on the light sockets and leaving zapped carcases....

I've got lots of lady bugs in my room. I'm always catching them on my porch and bringing them in. I've always got 2-3 that you can spot right off. Another 3-6 usually hide around.

There are two types of ladybugs - the orange asian invaders and the usual red ones. Red ones are the ones you want.
just got an army of ladybugs
I've seen two types. One with the normal red spotted shell, and another with some other color shell. I've never brought what you call "orange asian invaders" into my house. Mostly out of fear of the unknown.
What are the orange invaders?? And if one got past me, would it be harmful?
just got an army of ladybugs
The orange ones bite, more a washed out red really, and if squished in retaliation their blood can sting a bit. Otherwise they serve the same purpose as the native ones.

hm. i always thought that they were just the ugly ones in the family. ive got about a 50/50 population of both

Sounds like you only need a few of these nukes.

damn, lots of mite-munching power. id avoid it tho, just cuz ya dont want them on there at harvest, leaving larvae and eggs all over your smaokables

Go to Spider mites and their control with predators and read up on predatory mites.
They can help with your spider mite problems.
The best way to prevent spider mite infestation would be a proactive
approach, and release predatory mites before you have a problem....
Strawberry growers have been doing this for over 30 years...
Once you notice you have spider mites it can get very costly to control them.
Hope this helps.

its been years since i had to do this i used i think it was a mixture of baking soda and water. spray on the mites and it cacoons them in a substance that is like concrete to them. now do some research on his cause like i said its been years and i may be wrong about the baking soda, but im pretty sure it was either that or very fine round flour
also them orange bugs will eat your plants, or at least they enjoyed my green beans
