Is it possible to get a DUI for being pulled over high? I mean a light high is easy to hide but I'm worried about driving completely stoned when it's kind of obvious lol. I think most people think it's OK to be high if you have no paraphernalia or bud on you..?
Hmm, I think the question is a matter of opinion. I would say if you're sure you can handle it, yea. I've noticed more attention spent to detail and more carefull driving. But sometimes this includes driving 20 mph under the limit and stopping at green lights... I wouldn't worry about it. My friends and I smoked and drive daily and the only issue we've ever had is getting paranoid when we see a cop. Just relax :jointsmile:
I have no idea, I mean, it's not illegal to be high, but driving is a whole different story. I'd have to say to check your state laws. I'm pretty sure they could because we all know cops hate us and would do anything to piss us off.
I'm not worried about being pulled over high for speeding, driving bad, etc. I mean I just happen to be driving high and my tag light is out or something and I get pulled over for something meaningless.
They will pull you over for a broken tag light.
Yes I know these things and don't care about being pulled over for them, I'm just worried about being caught high while I'm on the road. lol
I don't know, every cop is different. I've never heard of being fined for being high.
I don't know how every state does it, but here in PA im pretty sure its possible to get a DUI because you are high. Its a pretty sketchy situation though and cops will probably only do it if they are assholes or they think you were serisously disabled enough to give it to you. Its hard to prove and its gotta be a lot of paper work....so as long as you don't drive like an idiot you should be fine
If the cop feels like being a dick, then i think they have it in their power to fine you or something, but usually they wont do anything. I think as long as they dont smell it, and u werent doing anything reckless u should be alright.
Around here anyways, i dunno about other places. Ive been pulled over completely blitzed a couple times before, and they didnt do anything.(damn stop signs)
Ive been pulled over high, he didnt care. It was for my license plate light.. Althought it was the scaryest thingever lol

Its illegal to be under the influence while operating a motor vechile so something can be done but most of the time nothing is unless the smell it which gives them probable cause to search your vechile.
DUI stands for driving under the influence, so most states, they can field test u, and if u fail they can take u in, and test u and wat not...

If you can pass the field sobriety test then you ok. If your too stoned and fai then you recieve DUI.
Fucks sake, no wonder the cannabis laws ain't changing; people driving whilst heavily ripped. It affects you, and just because you are chilled out, doesn't mean that you are super-human and are immune to car accidents. Getting pulled over when high should be a 2 yr ban, suspended sentance and a high fine. Don't forget, its not just your life you are putting in danger, it's everyone elses too.
Fucking grow up and act more responsibly. If you cannot see straight, chances are you will not be driving straight.
I think you're dissing people who roll stoned a little too hard. I don't know about you but I can still see straight when I'm stoned. If you are a good driver and you have some experience smoking weed so you know how it affects you, I see no problem driving stoned. Some people might disagree but it isn't as dangerous as a lot of people make it out to be and I personally find it to be fun.Quote:

yes you can be charged for DUI if you're driving while high off anything (not just weed)
the only thing i don't get is if you admittedly tell a cop you're on bars for example, and driving (but not prescribed them) you can be charged with DUI.... but if you're prescribed that med, you can't be charged with DUI....
whether you're prescribed it or not you're still driving under the influence of it.... so wtf?

You really shouldn't drive high to begin with anyways. Your judgement definetly becomes impaired while you're high. That's cool if your not putting anyone else in danger but if you drive around stoned and something suddenly happens where you need to act realy quick you might not respond fast enough. No, it's not gonna be like the above the influence commercial where you keep driving when the girl pulls out infront of you but lets say a kid jumped infornt of the car all the sudden. Would you be able to slam on your breaks? I wouldn't. Maybe some people can. But I know I wouldn't do it unless I really had to.

want to hear the height of stupidity?!?!?! here in Australia one of the families friends is a parapalgic (sp) { in a wheel chair }, and if he drinks technically a cop can book him for being over the legal drrviing blood alcohol limit!!!!!! hasnt happened yet, but wat the fuck is he meant to do? will they jsut confiscate his wheel chair or something and make him crawl home lol?
