I know that weed actually relaxes and therefor widens bronchial passageways and therefore your lungs are able to clean themselves much easier. Also when you smoke weed it creates a basic environment as opposed to an acidic one (in which cancer can grow) so weed helps prevent cancer as well

Hi all, just stumbled across this thread... from what i've heard MJ is 5 times more carcinogenic than tobacco (1 joint = 5 cigarettes) although as it effects your body differently than tobacco the carcinogenic chemicals in MJ are easier to get rid of. hope this helps in any way :thumbsup:

Marijuana has only been proven to affect cancer cells. Whether or not they actually promote or inhibit cancer is still unknown.

i think you could overdose on pure THC if you snorted it. you'd probably have to snort a LOT of it though. also, regardless of the chemicals in weed, it's only deadly if it actually kills people. it doesn't.

All the 1 joint = 5 ciggs bullshit is false. And wether it promotes cancer or not, it won't do it nearly as fast as cigarettes. Plus, there is a whole mess of chemicals in Marijuana that contributes to that system in your body that regulates fatigue and hunger and stuff... we don't know what is in it exactly... or at least what alot of those other chemicals do. But most promote good health, though we all know that smoking anything can't be good for your lungs.

But anyway the only way you could overdose to death is by eating like 2 pounds worth in 20 minutes. Because the weed takes time to break down in you stomach you would have a chance to over dose. But if you smoked it you would feel the effect straight away and fall asleep before you could overdose. But who the fuck is going to make brownies with two pounds???

This is my opinion:
Smoking anything is bad for you but ciggs are worse because they contain lots of unnecessary chemicals to make the smoke "smoother" (*cough*) like flamougerhide (spelling). Even though weed has 5 x the tar

1. Tar does not cause cancer; if it did low tar ciggs would not cause cancer
2. How many joints do you smoke a day? 2 maybe 3 joints a day for a heavy smoker. I smoke once a month and out of a bong so that helps

I donâ??t think that weed stops cancer, I think it makes people with cancer (kemo ruins appetite) and HIV eat during the treatment that can save their life.

Yes, I believe it is possible to get cancer from weed but unlikely.

Any one that says ciggies are better than pot in any way deserves to be gang-bashed to death with spiked clubs.

and look at my sig, and look at ciggie death and MJ death. even though more people smoke ciggies, there would still be some deaths from maijuana if it was leathal.

In summer I smoke 6-9 joints on an evening alone, I guess I'd be fcuked then. Anyway. You indeed have to use huge amounts of marijuana to overdose on it, so basically you can't call it an overdose anymore, because you can die from any substance. You can die from water, if you drink too much of it (which is really much, btw), and you can die from potatoes, lollypops, chocolate, anything. In that respect, it isn't the THC itself that kills you but the weed itself if you get what I mean.
