She's a Goliath Birdeating Tarantula, like in the movie Arachnophobia and just as mean! If you even look at her wrong she flings the little hairs from her back at you like an Amazon native shooting poison arrows with deadly accuracy. They stick all over and itch for days, then if that doesn't work she stands on her back legs, hisses, and bares her 3/4" fangs. I suggest never getting one, lol.Quote:

wooohoo....thats some snake action you got goin on...i had a room mate who had snake just like that and it always got loose in the house...you have to make dure they are kept fed or they can turn on you....we never found the snake so it was a little unnerving living in the house...i had a water bed that i knew i was going to jump into and find it one night or it was going to crawl in bed with me:stoned:
She has, and it could've been bad if it weren't for safety procedures (2nd trained person in room) and instincts/experience from a lifetime of working with them. I've been keeping various reptiles and other creepy crawlies all my life, and large pythons & boas for the past 7, 8 years. They can be the most gentle and tame animals, but unfortunately in the past few years groups like PETA & HSUS are trying to outlaw them federally because of a faulty gov survey and a few deaths from irresponsible keepers. I'm already an "outlaw" because of the rest of my lifestyle choices, hate to be completely one because I choose to keep "dangerous/injurious wildlife" instead of golden retrievers, who account for the most injuries/deaths from animals kept as pets...If it weren't so cold (and expensive to do so) I'd move to Canada.
Yeah, locking cages on all animals dangerous or not and inside a closed room. I've woken up to a snake curled next to me for warmth before, it's not as amusing as it sounds when that same snake is your meanest and previously strangled you into unconsciousness...
thats living on the edge my friend....those are mistakes you don't want to make twice:thumbsup:Quote:
