Jake's Bunches O' Beans Grow Log
Well, the biggest change around these parts is that the 1st Batch, except for the Colombian Red Haze, is now in real dirt. I transplanted them today into the earth, and so far they seem to be loving it. I'm going to try to find locations for several other plants, so I don't have to keep up with so many containers.
As before, I have confirmed 1 Bubblelicious male, which I have planted near the other Bubblelicious and Old School, hoping the second BBL and OS are female so I can get some seeds.
Since the CRH is a slow grower, I left her in her bucket until she develops further.
Sorry for the delay in providing pictures. I took some over the past week, but they weren't the best as I didn't have much time. Hopefully, these pictures are a bit better to give y'all an idea on how the 1st Batch is coming along - updates on the 2nd and 3rd Batches will follow this post, as will replies to all comments.
1st pic = hopefully female BBL
2nd pic = male BBL
3rd pic = hopefully female OS
4th pic = CRH, still in her bucket
As always, thanks for stoppin' in!

Alrighty then - here is the 2nd Batch in all of its glory. Actually, you'll notice some deterioration of the lower leaves. I'm sure some of it has to do with nute burn; I don't know if I'll ever learn my lesson. Perhaps 1 day I'll break down and buy some nutes that are better suited for MJ so I don't burn my plants all the time. I know all about flushing and 1/4 strength moving up, but I don't know much about patience - all in due time I suppose.
1st pic = Lemon Skunk
2nd pic = Super Silver Haze
3rd pic = Sour Cream
4th pic = Sour Cream
5th pic = Northern Light
More update on the 2nd Batch will follow in a subsequent post....
Jake's Bunches O' Beans Grow Log
Here are the last of the 2nd Batch.
1st pic = SSH
2nd and 3rd pics show SSH which was planted in the earth. It really began faltering while in its Silo cup; its leaves began tacoing and appeared to have been burned; however, I had not given any of the 2nd Batch any nutes. Since I don't really know what's up with it, I thought I'd plant it in the ground to see if it could fend for itself.
I probably should post within Plant Problems, but I like learning on my own - feel free to input some comments/advice/suggestions if you feel like it; but, I'm not too worried about plant problems. Most of the time they seem to resolve themselves; or, I'll know if I goofed something, and I'll flush. Since I'm not inside, I can eliminate a lot of issues pretty quickly. Also, since I'm not inside, most other issues are outside of my control - ergo, no sense in worrying.
Next up - the 3rd Batch, which luckily will be short and sweet, as I've yet to transplant them into buckets. Transplanting the 1st Batch into the earth will allow me the buckets I need to transplant the 3rd Batch - I just need to go buy more soil.

Finally, we have the 3rd and final Batch. These critters are coming along fine. They actually are not far behind the 2nd Batch - only 9 days of veg, which you can't really tell.
1st pic = NL
2nd pic = NL
3rd pic = lateral view of LS
4th pic = apical view of LS
5th pic = same view of last LS
Oh - forgot to mention 1 last item; the PPP from the 1st Batch showed male, and it was not a very healthy specimen, so I yanked it and shredded it. The Bubblelicious male should do the trick for the beans I'm looking for.
Y'all be good now, ya hear!

Very true and spot on comment, my friend. Do you also go by the handle of Pinball Wizard? I swear I saw a dude that reminded me of you on another board. Speaking of pinball - back in the old days, I played a pinball game that was based on a carnival; it had a ferris wheel, roller coaster, etc. It was the wickedest pinball game I've ever seen. Maybe when I win the lottery, I'll track 1 down. Anywhichway, thanks for stoppin' by, my Southern compadre!

Noooooooo - I'm not The Man, and I try hard not to be The Man. But, you're spot on with the Sour Cream; it sounds amazing. I can't wait for it to grow up, out, and all around. It just sounds mind blowing. I haven't had G13 or SD, so I know it's going to blow my hair back. Sweet analogy about the menage-a-trois! LMAO!

Hot Dang - it's greenatik himself! Good to see you after all this time. Now that the Winter doldrums are behind us, we meet again in the Grow Log arena, eh? I saw you at another board, but did not have membership privileges to reply to your post over there. Now I see you back here, which makes my life simpler - I can't get around like I once could. I know you'll have some serious green porn for us all to drool over here soon! Welcome Back!

Killa, dude, you're always welcome in the center of the room! Sorry it took me so long to get some pictures up and runnin'. And, there really hasn't seemed to be too much development. I think all of my plants are suffering from the serious heat we've had - not much rain either! But, I hope the posted pictures satiate you somewhat. I need to check in on your green/purple beauties. My ladies are sort of the scraggly Hustler level of porn, while yours are the glamorous Playboy beauties! We'll see if I can't get my ladies some implants, porcelain veneers, tanning bed tans, brazilian waxes, and maybe I can elevate them to Penthouse?

Feel free to look around and add some advice; I need all the help I can get from you experienced outdoor guys! I need to go back through your threads to look at your nute schedule. I've been looking at Advanced Nutrients or the like; I'm sure they would make my life easier!

Shake! Rattle and Roll, brother! I'm still beboppin' along; just been difficult to get some good pictures. I finally got 1/2 way organized today and sat down to take some comprehensive pics. It's becoming a pretty good challenge keeping up with all of these lil' green buggers; but, it really is rewarding and relaxing. I don't think I could have settled upon a better hobby! Glad to see you here again, my friend!
Now, off to dinner before my wife beats me down! I've been derelict in my household duties putting these pics and update together. But, I will find some time here soon to check out all of y'all's logs. I think I get more joy looking at all of y'all's greenies than I do my own! Aloha, mis amigos!

no worries jake. i completely understand. and also understand what it's like to not take care of ones household duties. i have been building a new grow box over the past 2 1/2 days. (i might get a log up sometime.)
i'm glad the little ones aren't making you loose your mind. i think it's a pretty good hobby too!

hey jake they look a little undernuted to me. what kind of soil is that? I had an organic soil that looked similar to what your using, nice aeration with the perlite, but i found out soon that it has no nutrition in it whatsoever. If you decide to get some mj-geared nutes I would get the pureblendpro soil or botanicare granules for a time-release - both will work wonders
glad to be back man! you might get to watch me dangle my feet in hydro next run :blueknife:

Shhhhhhhhh.... My wife stepped out for a few minutes, so I had a brief opportunity to catch up on comments, and to get to a few logs. I look forward to your grow box construction log, shake. I'm still debating on whether to go indoor or not. I don't like having my ladies outside where a casual observer could put 2 + 2 together under the right circumstances. Good luck to you on keeping your hobby under control enough to satisfy your household duties. I think my hobby has turned into an obsession, but again, don't tell my wife!

greenatik, I greatly appreciate the advice. I need to pay more attention to watering, especially where I try to overcompensate during dryer times. I need to check each bucket, as each of these lil' greenies drinks different amounts. I'm lazy and tend to just pour water for all of them, not wanting to leave any out. I agree with you that there are at least a few of them that are probably overwatered. Also, I agree with you they very well may be undernourished as I am used to feeding in MG soil. I did go for some soil with no nutes, and even have some soil with no nutes and with supreme drainage, so water runs right through, as I imagine it does in coco coir. I'll pay more attention to both issues. Thanks again, my friend!

A white or clear plastic bottle or jug with the bottom cut from it can be used to buffer and improve the outdoor environment for little tiny seedlings. Put the jug over the wee plant. I use this for garden plants in the early Spring.
Use mulch also. Fine pine bark, peat moss, grass clippings/straw, wood shavings/sawdust, works to buffer the topsoil's moisture and can help with insect pests too.
