Scariest movie ever
The Evil Dead trilogy rules over all other horror movies.
Evil Dead 1, Evil Dead 2, and Army of Darkness- not only are they a bloody good time they have interesting characters making smart decisions which is the hallmark of a good horror movie. I cant tell you how sick i get of stupid motherf**ckers in horror movies making stupid decisions.

Cheap jump out scares and corny scripts don't do it for me. I can't stand movies like Halloween's and Nightmare on Elm Streets. I find them so cheesy and horrible. There is a few exceptions. Like the first two Child's Play movies I enjoyed.
However the movies that freak me out are more the psychological or ambience type scares.
The Omen Series is to me by far the eeriest movies I've ever watched. The Exorcist movies are pretty good as well.

Quick note about evil dead trilogy- if you're watching it for the first time start with Evil Dead 2. you wont miss anything and its the best one of the series.

all this time and still i haven't got a better move to add, then rose red... nothing is really scarry anymore..
although, pulse DID have me looking over my shoulder while pissing... but i was stoned as hell, and the only one awake in my house (which has horrible lighting) and pretty much every 'portal' (watch the movie you'll see what i mean) imaginable in my house....
i think some of the best horror movies (atleast of what is considered horror these days) are the ones that end with the problem still there, like in pulse. i guess the best horror movies have always ended that way (as an example, aliens come, everyone of them gets wiped out but the last scene shows a single egg starting to open)

I've gotta cast my lot for Event Horizon. That one has a good mix of creepy suspense, mind bending concepts and gorryness.
That flick gave me a few bad dreams and I saw it when I was in my late teens.
Try frame by frame on the distress call video that the characters have to clean up before they can watch it (fucked up stuff in there).
I'd like to post about some recent movies that are scary but all the horror genre is now is a series of gratuitous blood bath scenes.
The first Saw was pretty good but mostly just for the great plot twist at the end.

Cronenburg's Shivers scared the ever loving piss out of me on my first viewing, and still does.
