    Scariest movie ever

Give me your opinion of the scariest movie ever. I'm tired of not being scared of movies. I want the bloodiest, goreist, most f*ed up movie ever. I heard the Descent was bloody, and I'm going to rent that one in a few days, but I want the best movie ever. I want one that will make me crap my pants and make me have nightmares.

the descent isn't that bad really... it's kinda gorey, but i can promise you seen lots gorrier... it's over dramatized alot....

scarriest ever? well honestly i don't know.. these days horror movies are more focused on torture.. they can scare the shit out of you if you can put yourself in the torturee's place... but... they're not that scary...

feast was pretty bloody... but it has alot of comedy in it as well that takes away from the scary proportion...

i don't think there really is any scary movies.. i think as we grow up, that fear kinda goes away... i mean a movie can make us jump, but it's not like it's instilling fear in us where you're constnatly looking over your back, afraid to go the bathroom type magnitude....

i'd also like to see a movie that just plain scares the living hell out of me.... it's been awhile..

Well, blood and guts has nothing to do with scary. The definition of 'scary' is hard to say really. Any movie in this era is not 'scary', like Slip said, the aspect of torture has rose, which is disgusting sometimes...but far from scary. Movies these days are all multi-genre.

The Descent was the best thriller/horror flick I've seen in many many years. If you want a lot of "BOO!" moments, that's a good one...also has some blood. It's just a good movie overall IMO.

But, really, the only horror movie that slightly scared me was The Exorcist, and that was when I saw it in the theater and I was a bit younger. Not gorey or bloody, but 'fucked up' works. Other than that, maybe the first few Freddy, Jason, or Halloween movies. Or possibly The Shining...basically you have to go back into the 80's to find actual scary movies.

Honestly, I'd say the less blood in a movie, possibly the scarier. If a movie is scary, it doesn't need blood or gore at all.

Also, The Haunting, wasn't that rated like PG lol?

Yeah, that shit was dumb IMO.

I was just thinking though...maybe Scream would be something she would like? I'm sure you've seen in many times though, but if you haven't that was a pretty good 'new' scary movie.

Or maybe Blair Witch, which isn't very scary, but kinda creepy I guess.

Lame? I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be bitchy, I just really want a scary movie.

lol well you're just gonna have to realize all today's movie makers are intrested in are either heart felt stories, ridiculously stuipd and impossible action, or blood and gore..

movie makers these days don't know what horror really is.. well in a sense they do, but not as we know it... they know horror as the most horrificly bloody scenese they can show.... but that's not horror, that's just violence.... HORROR makes you unable to sleep at night, fearing candy man, chucky or freddy krueger will get you while you sleep... HORROR makes you not able to piss in the bathroom without getting outta there as quick as you can, often leaving a piss streak down your leg... HORROR sticks with you forever, while today's 'horror' is gone from your memory in a day or so, until someone brings it up again...

if a director could create a real horror movie these days... he'd be the richest son of a bitch allive.. if he coudl manage to make a movie that ddidn't rely on guts and blodd to scare the shit out of you, he'd instnatly become an icon... and instantly make billions upon billions.

I'm confused. What's lame? I didn't say anything was lame hun (well, I must say, The Haunting was quite lame). I was trying to be very helpful to you. Did you even read my first post? Maybe you skipped over it? Slight confusion....

But, yeah, Slip's post above me is very accurate. And, you were born in the 90's so I dunno if you've seen many of the 80's 'actual horror movies'. But, check out my first post for some ideas. Honestly kiddo, scary movies have become an American past-time, you gotta go a few years back.
