Each person has their own mind set, and they think differently. But don't come here trying to bash on me for being a little worried of my dad's reaction.

I totally get that. My step-dad was like that very much and was very stubborn about it. If anything surprized him or even confused him.....I was just introuble no matter what.
You sound like you'll be cool tho. Just do it in a gentle way. Like others have said if they've pretty much told you, you could smoke then I think your fine. Maybe their actually just waiting for you to tell them.
I do agree with the showing him your a man thing. I got kicked out when I was 17 but damn it I stood up for myself and now me and my parents are better then ever and it didnt take as long as I expected. The whole situation was water under the bridge in no time.
