If you have a full sized, 2wd, regular cab truck with 6cyl, and manual trans, the insurance companies don't care what you do with it, its still classed as a work truck and the rates are next to nothing. If you add 4wd, it becomes a "toy", and the rates double....if it has an extended cab or crew cab, they double again. You can easily have insurance rates that are more than the notes.
I carry high limits on my truck ($100k/$300k liability, $50k uninsured motorist, comprehensive, collision, emer road service, and ZERO deductable on my glass), and I like only having to pay $62/month for insurance. You can do as you wish, but my wallet and I are happy where we are at. :thumbsup:
