hope the sergery went well my dad had the same thing done 4 years ago
nah i don't mind...
and i only asked because last time she went we basicly had to fight to keep her off here
You'll be home before you know it. Good luck, bird!
She's probably doing fine right now. Love ya Birdgirl :hippy:
Thanks, guys and girls, for all the sweet, lovely messages. I'm back at last, and it wasn't even that long, but it seemed longer because when I got home from the hospital Friday afternoon late, it seemed my dad had gone onto my PC to check his email (I'd set it to run a virus scan while I was gone) and crashed my machine. Fortunately, my brother in law worked on it a while tonight and re-installed some stuff and has it back up and cranking along.
Hope you're all well! I won't regale you with any gory details, but I'll be taking it somewhat easy in the next week or two as I begin spinal rehab and supposedly take a slow approach to getting back into keyboard position. We'll see how long that lasts.
I was a wickedly disobedient patient and a real nuisance in the hospital. Surrey's Princess, I apologize to you on behalf of all nurses. You people are angels from heaven above, and then people like me land on your shifts . . . .
Have y'all all been behaving yourselves?
yay she's back!!!! And of course we have hahah
depends on how you look at it really <.<
there have been a few 'problems' in your absense... but worked extra hard at keeping the other mods up to date, so it equaled out <.<
glad you're home.... now go eat SOME FRIED CHICKEN! :D
I'm glad everything went well for you BG!
As for me, I'm back in the hospital :(
At least it feels like a vacation, just the extended break I needed.
I plan to eat fried chicken on Tuesday night if I possibly can! Can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to that, too. I'm having some trouble swallowing still as a result of the doggone neck incision. So my big dietary components right now are Jello, popsicles and pudding. It's sorta scary, really. Tomorrow they may be putting diapers on me if I stay on this babyfood diet much longer. I'm ready for something more solid. Like steak or a big pork chop or a turkey leg!
NO!:D Read my post in politics and you pretty much got it. LMAO!Quote:

You're back in the hospital, THCBongman? For real? Tell me it ain't so!!!
welcome back birdgirl, good luck with the rehab:thumbsup:
Yup. I had a biopsy on Thursday, went pretty well, and pain-free, I thought it was going to be a quick recovery. Released Saturday, and I thought I was okay, then had to go back today because my lung collapsed. Now I'm not sure how long I'm going to stay.Quote:

When do you get your path reports back on the biopsy, hun?
And why do they think you had the pneumothorax? Did they do a pulmonary biopsy?
Do what the docs and respiratory therapists tell you, OK? We want to keep you inflated!!!
i leave for a few days of out of town work and on my return i find you have abandoned us. imagine my surprise to find the boards in a state of complete anarchy and utter disarray and it's all your fault. i find it quite inconsiderate of you to put your own health ahead of the welfare of the community and it has been decided that you are no longer to be allowed to make such decisions for yourself. from now on you are required to have the written consent of at least two thirds of the membership before being allowed to disappear for a period of more than forty-eight hours.
personally, i was in favor of chastising you with a severe spanking, but after further consideration it was decided that you might enjoy that a little too much. so consider yourself lucky to be getting off with no more than a verbal warning.
unless you really want that spanking. in that case, give me a call and i'll be more than happy to oblige.
:giveflower:
here have an internet dog on me!
welcome back
i bet u are glad its over!
The good news is that it's all scar tissue and no teratomas from the initial review. It seems I like minimal cancer tissue in my body now! They're going to have the "holy grail" of all TC patients examine it and see what he has to say.
Basically they cut me in 3 parts on my left side, it was a video-assisted biopsy. It was exploratory. My lungs are one of my strongest assets, I was so opposed to doing it at first because I didn't want to mess up my breathing rhythms when it comes to exercise, but I relented once again for the best and just to know.
But boy I'm sick of going back to the hospital! 5 times in the last 12 months takes a toll on ya :(
they are free
it takes a while to load, though
TV Links
Much appreciated. Need the entertainment!
See why I missed this place so much??? Because of you, Del-Norm!! Hysterically funny, wicked whack jobs like you! What a wonderful laugh you just gave me!!Quote:

XOX!!
Uhhhh BG.......I don't think D of N was joking....I was asked to be on this BG deciding committee but was too busy getting stoned.
Welcome back
Glad to see you back and ok Birdgirl. Take it slow and easy.
Sorry to hear that about you thcbongman. Best of luck to you, hope everything turns out ok. Stay strong.
my fav. episode, is the "blind guy" who squirts water from his waist at the river's intertube rafters as they drift pass .....their reactions when sprayed are funnyQuote:

Good to see you back!
All my best, Alex.
I'm in total agreement. It's the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. I roflmao the second time I saw it too. I'm thinking about that spinal fusion thing too. I've got degenerative arthritis in two places on my back and I'm in pain almost constantly, with that degenretive part meaning it's only gonna get worse. I really, really hate hospitals though. People go die there. I'm just a big pussy I guess. I think BG needs to be spanked.....hard! And I know what you mean about the exercise bongman. It just makes me feel better and really I miss it if I can't do it.Quote:

Peace,
horror business :rasta:
Good to have you back despite just finding out you left :) hope the opp went smoothly
Birdies back! How is everything? All good I hope :D
I'm a little late, but welcome back. Its good to hear that the surgery went well, and good luck on the hard part (rehab)
my apologies, BirdGirl, I just now, noticed this thread ... I didn't even know you were in the hospital ... I do hope all went well, and you never see another hospital
Thanks, kids, for the warm welcome. All seems to be well. I'm a little tired of people--like my parents, mostly--being oversolicitous and saying things like, "C'mon, hun, why don't you go easy on that for now?" and encouraging me to take it easy instead of simply do what I feel like doing. I felt like vacuuming earlier and my plans were quickly interrupted. I love them for all being concerned, but ortho-neuro surgery is a much different thing these days for most youngish, healthy people. We get well fast and we can tolerate a lot more post-operative activity than the old-style "slow recuperators" realize. Tomorrow, my parents are going home even if I have to get in the car and drive them to their door themselves. Which, of course, I won't be allowed to do since I'm in a neck brace and there's no driving for four weeks.
Thanks, Image Reaper. Yep, had two bad discs removed and vertebrae in my neck rebuilt and fused together. I hope to see no more hospitals soon, either. At least till I go to work in one!
