im very sorry to complicate the matter but i believe your wording of the bulbs is incorrect, its true that flowering bulbs are 2700k or lower, but these are not labeled "soft white" they are known as "warm white", the "soft white" refers to the neutral color around 3500k-4000k used in the home, though these can still be used for growing it is not the best spectrum that the warm white 2700k puts out, i hope these links help, 23/27K Spiral - 23/27 Spiral 23/50K Spiral - 23/50 SpiralQuote:

Yes thats wat i thought cuz i said in my reply it was warm white but when he said soft white i thought i was wrong and didnt say anything...thanks for clearing that up for us
Hello ghostofduke , the information I gave him is correct. I would not have given him information that I wasnt positive about. You are going by somewhat outdated information on cfl's (at least in the usa) there are more terms than "warm" and "cool" nowadays. The energy star rating program , which cfl bulb manufacturers must use if they want there cfl's energy star rated mandates the clf's be called certain things or have the kelvin rating on the package or both.
Here is a link to the the manufacturers specs of the "GE soft white" cfl bulbs. Note the kelvin rating is 2700k , which is good for flowering.

One more thing I recommended these bulbs to him because the GE bulbs
(the "GE daylight" and "GE soft white" Cfl's) are available in every walmart in the usa and walmarts are everywhere here. GE partnered with walmart to get people to use cfl's so there in every walmart in the usa.
yes yes but today a quite nice thing happend, i managed to get ahold of a 400 watt high pressure soduim bulb and lamp. . .im woundering if i can use this lamp for the whole grow process??? i was also very happy when i went to my friends house where my plant is located and he told me he was only breaking balls about my plant being eaten:D
i would probably start over any way(not being a dick or anything.. its an honest mistake) .. that plants pretty stretched.. and u say its 4 weeks old...get u some cfl's and start over .. believe me it will be worth it.. and keep the cfls within a couple of inches from the plant .. this will keep it bushy and stop the stretch...
INSpectaDeck, here is a suggestion since you now have a 400watt hps. You should use that for flower, and in another location uses a few 26watt "GE daylight cfl's" for vegg. That way you can grow out clones/seeds/vegg plants with the daylight cfl's while you have your other plants flowering with the 400watt hps.
You could Vegg under hps if you wanted to , but the node space will be farther apart (aka streched out farther) then if you vegged under cfl's that are in the 6500k spectrum ( the GE daylight 100's) Remember with cfl's to keep the lights approx 3-6" from the plants that will make them grow nice and bushy.
If you use this method I suggested you will be able to harvest bud approx. every two month's. (when one crop is finished flowering , you grab the plants that you have in vegg and put them in flower, vegging more plants while the crop is flowering)
The Vegg chamber dont got ta be huge either if your just growing a couple plants n maybe a few clones a 2'lengthx1'widthx2.5'height
Grow box will be all you will need,You could use a cardboard box many people do just make sure you have proper ventilation. put four-six 26 watt "GE daylight 100" cfl's in there and you will have a great vegg box.
Yes you can use a hps light for the whole grow but mh is better for veg and hps better for flower or hps n mh for flower n veg is even better
thanks alot. . .i got a question about this HPS bulb. . . it looks kinda "heavy duity" do you think this thing is going to run up my electric bill being on for 12 hours a day?? my friend has this at his house (the place my plant and is) mini green house and was thinking we soould make it a mini veggie room. it has three shelfs and is approx. 5' hight at its highest point with a kinda ^ shaped top(im sure u know wut i mean), and basicly all the same mesurment u said it should be. and of course it is all clear plastic sourrounding it i was thinking about cutting holes in it and putting flc bulbs right in it. . .is that a good idea??. . .ill try to get some pix of it so maybe u can give me some ideas.
thanks again

I now have 4 CFL "daylights" i bought, they are so bright its unbelivable. . .im really in a huge debate weather to get rid of my tallest plant and start a new one like notorious suggested, im hopin with the new lights that it will just start to grow in right. im probaly going to just give it a few weeks n if the progress dosent look good ill just nuke it lol
