i used to run constantly when i smoked heavily..id always play sports where i was constantly running..if not just running alone..and i noticed my lung capacity was extremely high..im sure it helps but you still might have mild to heavy smokers lung depending on how much you smoke..but running greatly improves lung capacity and endurance and heart strength...might notice your pulse being lower because you heart is strong and less beats do the same work..
