The vividness effect is the tendency for humans to overrule Probalistic reasoning because of testimonial evidence. The truth is, is that you and everyone else in first world countries are more likely to die because of a car accident. You cannot dispute this it is a fact go look it up if you wish. It amazes me that your family has suffered such tragedy as it is so unlikely (statistically) but non the less it happened.

Any population approximately follows the normal curve (See below). And the center is the average (thus what we should follow). As we can see there are many cases with large deviations from the average. For example my family at one end with no one ever dying from terrorism and your family at the other. These are not representational of the population and thus reality. How about my family I have 4 people who have been seriously injured or killed in a car accident but I understand that isnâ??t representational of reality.

So by me saying that you have succumb to the vividness effect Iâ??m saying that you may have looked at some stats saying that cars are more dangerous, but you look at your family (testimonial evidence) it overrides your reliance on the statistics (which you should be following)

Iâ??ll use the USA as an example because I know the stats
Car accidentsâ??300+ per week
Terrorism --- 3000 in 2001 non or little since

Chisme as much as I understand where you're coming from and respect your feelings about this situation we also have to look closer to home.
How many brit white folks do you know who collect the bins?

I have worked for over 30 years and I recently injured my back , I found out just how the goverment values people like myself by the lack of proper treatment and the insulting amount of benefits I recieve for 3 decades of working and paying my taxes.

The goverment and the people need to get their act together IMO.

All of this is being stirred up on purpose. Nobody suggested there would be riots or problems until the BBC did a news report suggesting that it MIGHT - only might - eventually happen. A Muslim leader said he'd had no indication of anything like that. Another community leader said the same, but the 'riots' theme was still palyed out in the newspiece. No support for the idea at all, just a conjecture.

This is a game our goverment is creating to make a gulf between us and Muslims, do not fall for it. I understand that posters here are unhappy, that they have issues. But don't let this get out of hand. Don't play the game.

I live in Bristol, which has a massive Muslim community. Any signs of unrest there? Any changes in day to day feeling in our community? Any posters about political meetings or angry graffiti on walls? Protests? Fights? Bit of scuffle outside a pub or two? A scowl even from the Muslim family who run the shop at the end of my street??? Not a bit of it. Life goes on and nothing has changed.

But we're being made to think that things are changing, quickly and dangerously and that Islam is the 'danger within'. Please, think, see all of this for what it is. Manipulation. The only way to fight what's happening is to withhold belief in what you read and see on TV.

I have to disagree. The abolishion of religion is a clarion call for dictatorships and the rise of human evil. Religion keeps government in check, as does government keep religion in check. This is a natural balance that should be preserved at all costs.


Ironically, the reason fanatic Islam is allowed to do many of the things they are in the UK is because the UK has lost much of it's conservative influence. Each day we hear and read about MUSLIMS being arrested on terror charges, and quite a large number. After being subjected to this for several months, its going to sink into your sub-conscious until you wake up one day and think 'hey, all muslims are terrorists!'. Well, maybe not quite like that, but its getting awfully close and its extremely sad that nowadays, most people cannot even trust a tanned/brown coloured person in the fear that they may be a muslim. I don't really know much about this because I'm not the type of person to want to learn about this from the news and such. I show no interest in it because there's so much shit going on throughout the world revolving around the same kind of scenario. But I'm going to post my thoughts.
From what I've read on here, and from what I understand, overall I think it results to the government and their sly ways of conning money and people, I think they're rediculous.
Some of you English people will understand what this is about; people from other countries won't because I don't think you 'benefit' from this; benefit, yeah right.
My point is EMA; Education Maintenance Allowance. I'm just 17 years old and I do not recieve EMA. This is because their income boundary for EMA is £30,000 a year. My step dad is on £40,000 alone. My mum is on £15,000.
My first point is that it's my step dad on the high payroll, he is not my blood-relative. He is not going to give me any money, why should he? We live in a quarter mill house, I have 2 brothers, a baby brother and one at primary school. My mum's money is already spoken for right there, among debts and such. I recieve no income. But they don't seem to understand that.
How is EMA paid for? Taxes.
This is what bothers me the most, it's all abig con. My parents pay for peoples EMA through their taxes, but I don't recieve it because MY PARENTS, i mean.. My step dad is on a high payroll? Great. :confused:
Some of you will reply with telling me to get a part-time job. I have done, but it's difficult to goto college full time, then work part time, among sociailising, and such.
My point of the story is, the government are shit.
