Well, there is nothing you can do about any of that now... people don't know about the zillions of different shit they are putting into us unknowingly, without us even knowing.

hah the pharmasutical companies are getting away with alot of shit no doubt, they have the FDA under their thumbs as well.
It's just the not knowing that bugs me... cause then how could people decide? If they knew that what they were putting into their bodies was dangerous and continued on anyways (Like ciggarettes in the 50s) then I wouldn't care what they do.
Commercial food production tends to be a "dirty" business in regards to production practices...
On the other hand, large commercial production has led to more food availability, and safer food in some respects.
To be clear, in my view, Monsanto is an evil company for sure ... but on the other-hand, if it's any consulation, the CEOs and their rich friends eat much of what the company helps to produce ... so if it's harmful, the bigshot executives and their families, etc are likely going to be done in too LOL!
The scientists who actually develop the additives, growth hormones, etc are likely among those who may choose to take steps to mitigate their exposure by reading product labels, buying "organic", etc ... again, the typical bigshot executive, especially of companies like Monsanto, Exxon-Mobil, just eats whatever with not a care in the world ... so in the end it will even out, if the stuff really is that bad.
In regards to the air ... oxygen is more harmful than most anything else typically found in the air these days in respect to the human body. A related molecule that does great damage is ozone - it's supposedly a good thing high in the atmosphere, but is very bad to human health at ground-level.
On another, but related topic, studies have shown that low-level exposure to some toxins, including some forms of radiation (don't recall the exact term, but sure someone can do a wiki on it) can actually be healthy! Seriously.
When it comes to various chemicals, such as some hormones, the result isn't always obvious ... relatively large exposures may have little to no effect where as lower levels of exposure may have a profound effect.
The leading theory on early puberty is that hormone exposure may be having some effect, but the main reason is better nutrietion; food may be full of added chemicals, etc, but it's also full of all sorts of artificially added essential vitamins and minerals that people in the distant past often didn't get enough of - more nutrients will tend to lead to better, larger growth; ask any gardener LOL!
Anyways, if mass-production food, etc is so bad, then why was the number of deaths in the U.S. the lowest recorded in many years ... and the average age people die at continues to go up - it's in the high 70s now in the U.S.
What people should worry about first way before food additives, growth hormones, etc in food are those common hazards that injure and kill many people every year ...
Falls / stairs, electricution, not wearing seatbelts, cigarette smoking, lit candles causing fire, pressure cookers, etc ... the list of common everyday hazards is amazingly long - those are the ones people should focus on before worrying about 1 in a zillion hazards; being aware of them is fine, but one should prioritize - life is all about managing risk and the level one is willing to accept ... only way to be 100% safe is to be 100% dead; we're all going to end up there anyways so one might as well enjoy life while practicing moderation in their activities - many of the longest living people eat mediocre diets, but have a good attitude on life and live everyday to the fullest.

there is no way we could make the world safe, they try but there is no way to even fully 100% protect one person, let alone millions and billions... i really don't think anyone should be able to illegalize anything, i mean all it does, is promote more crime. how can they look at one 'drug' that is nothing more then plant matter, not chemicals or anything added, and say that it's bad because someone killed themselves with it. yet, tobacco kills thousands (i think) daily.
i say give the people whatever the hell it is they want, if they want the drug that bad, they're going to get it, one way or another, illegalizing it does nothing but make more and more crime. if people were allowed to grow whatever plant is that produces cocaine, and marijuana in america, those mexican drug runners that are kidnapping/killing wouldn't have a reason to do it...
if it was so easily otainable here, what would be the point? illegalization does nothing but make more (severe) crime, which makes me wonder if that's why, maybe they can't just live with a happy and secure world, maybe they just can't live in peace. it is in our animalistic-human instincts to be teritorial, and alot of times just down right out aggressive....
[QUOTE=God v2.0]damn, everyone needs to quit bitching and shut the hell up, you are all going to die, and soon. The air you're breathing right now is extremely carcinogenic. car exauhst has a nasty little chemical in it called benzene, now benzene is EXTREMELY carcinogenic at the microgram, its also in every breath you take thanks to henry ford! or whoever the hell thought up the internal combustion engine.
so rest easy. because there is nothing you can do about it. you are going to die.[/QUOTE
Good point about benzene.
Its in what we drink also.
Sodium benzoate or potasium benzoate combined with ascorbic acid reverts back to benzene in the container when manufactured.
You will find these ingredients in many soft drinks. Ascorbic acid, (vitamin c) is great it just shouldnt be combined with benzoate derrivatives.
Still love the milk. I go through about a gallon of 2% every 5 days or so. I just like the way it tastes. I'd drink even more of it if it could contain any less fat and not taste like water. When I'm that worried about the dangers of modern society, I'll chuck my cell phone, stop eating packaged foods, quit smoking and get rid of all of the electronics in the house. Till then, I'll just live for now and die happy :D
alot of this is bullshit, ive drank about a gallon of milk every 2 days for basicly my entire life and im 18, its 2% food lion brand
im the skinniest person i know, ive never broken a bone and ive been hit by a car, the doctor said my bones are much much stronger than the average person, my calcium intake is was so high when i was growing up it ended up on my teeth, my teeth are bigger than most ppls so i had to have 4 permanents pulled and 4 baby teeth pulled early..and i rarely ate dark green vegetables...

One other thing I forgot to mention. The FDA allows fecal matter in the milk along with the live bacteria and pus cells.
