Ok, quick ( and probably dumb ) question.

I believe that the people that make the decisions in the DOH are genuinely interested in doing a good job. This is a BIG DEAL and is really in the spotlight. The politicians are really using this to pacify the people. They are in a heck of a position both on federal and state levels with the economy, and all of their corruption coming out. They also see the oportunity to get a whole lot of income from a budding new business (pun intended). So the administration is behind the MMJ program and wants them to basically turn away would be abusers of the program and permit the ligit people.
I also think that the main concern of the DOH people is that there are very few "incidents" associated with MMJ. Robberies, burglaries, growers producing commercial crops and things of that nature. Also kids and teenagers in the house and the situation in your family would be a big deal. It would be really BAD for the MMJ program to have black marks and really GOOD if people enjoyed this responsibly and tried to work within the laws...or pretty close anyway. Patients who need MMJ need the program to work. YES it is s tepping stone to legalization. YES it is a little bit closer to being able to grow 'em in rows like tomato plants... BUT WE GOTTA BE CAREFUL. And the DOH people know that really well!
So if your situation is good, your landlord is willing to say it is good, and you can have a conversation with DOH and get them to come out and personally look at the situation, I will bet you can get a permit.
Call 'em up. Make it happen. That is my strategy anyhoo.

Thank you sir. Thats the info I was looking for. I have no black marks on my record and I truly consider myself one of those "legit" people, so hopefully all goes well with it. Well, I think all the info I need has been gathered, and hopefully within the next few days I can get my second recommendation and be on the road to relief.

Sounds like you and I are at just about the same point. I will have my application all in order next Wednesday and will be hand delivering that baby to DOH with a great big smile on my face.
Let me know how it goes and good luck!
