We are not on the agenda, but we are going to show up in force to let them know that we will not let them shut down dispensaries. We need patients to show up at the meeting and sign up to talk to the committee. You will be given 1 minute to talk with them and let them know how you feel. We would love to have a few hundread patients there to show the committee that we mean business. We have been nice and polite for too long and they are now turning on us. It is time for us to fight back. We can keep them at this meeting that they do not want to be at for hours while we tell them we do not want them to limit our choices on where we can get our medicine. A bunch of the dispensaries have sign up sheets so that you can be reminded of the meeting. All SSCC members that sign up and talk at the meeting will receive a free gift. The meeting is on January 19th at 3PM at City Hall, 915 I St. in the City council chambers. Get there early and fill out the form so that you can tell the Council how you feel.

So What Ever happen about closing down the dispensaries? Are they still going to keep them open?

Shastacoman, why don't you open up a dispensary and charge 5% over strret pricing like you said and make a killing. Let me know when you open up, I want to come and buy medicine from you. Please let me know right when you open because you will not be open for long unless you dont pay all of the stuff that my dispensary pays.
Getting back to the original post. We had about 75 people at the Law and Leg meeting. We had about 20 people speak to the committee. We just let them know that we disagree w/ them shutting down any dispensaries that were open before the moritorium. We are planning to attend some of the City council meeting in the near future. I will post the info to this forum a week or two before the meeting. Thanks to everybody that showed up at the meeting and supporting us.

there are a few pushing for it so they can domminate and rake in the money. collectives pay the vollunteers and pay for the buds. shasta man lives in marijuana nirvana of the 707 where every other house has a garden for cheaper prices.
money being made but it gets well dispersed for the risks being taken.

oh make no mistake my brotha, its like that all over from sacramento, thru marysville/yuba city, all the way up thru redding, and to the oregon border. from the nevada border all the way to the water.
MOGREEN,
you dont have to come by and buy from me, there are literally hundreds of people from my place to sacramento and everywere in between that you can buy it cheaply, and get the same quality as you get from those shops. i know of one guy that lives in my county that has 15 different strains all the time, and he has some of the BEST stuff ive EVER seen in california, for about HALF of what those shops charge. i thought about opening up a shop. i own my own properties, shop space, ect, but like i said, i have a conscience, and really cant see making money off of someone else pain, as i know how i feel everytime i have to go to the pharmacy and pay over $3k a month for my pain meds from them, especially when it probably doesnt cost the pharmaceutical company pennies to make it.
like i said, my whole point to this is that when you do the math, these dispensaries are NOT paying even a small percentage of what they rake in each week/month/year out in expenses. if a dispensary can show me that they pay as much as they are making in legit expenses, ill be the first one to get on here and post it and eat my own words, but they cant. i worked in managment for a large retail store that made literally millions a month, and even with multiple employees, utilities, store insurance as well as health and dental, the stores operating expenses didnt even come CLOSE to $50K+ a month.
ill virtually GUARANTEE as long as these guys are making money like they are, the counties are not going to cut them any slack whatsoever. all they see is the thousands of legal ( and illegal) dollars that run thru these places each week, and wonder where their shares at. i wonder how many of these shops started out in the 80s and 90s selling mexican dirt weed on florin rd either next to AM/PM or 7-11...LOL!
another thing ill guarantee. the anti-MMJ people will eventually shut most of them down because of it. why in the world do you think that there are so many "pro" AB390 people in our government now?...its not because they are "compassionate" to the plyte of the working man with health problems, its because they see BIG dollar signs. if one small shops making $50K+ a month, what do you think the shop whos selling 5lbs a weeks making?..or 10lbs a week?....thats literally a fortune for the state in just taxes alone......

Hey Shasta, non profit companies can make money, but nobody owns the non profit, so they cannot use the money for themselves. It has to be used by the corporation. It can be donated or used for improvements. Yes the dispensaries are making money but it belongs to the non profit corp., not the people who run the non profit. There are collectives that are not set up as non profit corporations, but my collective is a non profit corporation registed w/ the state.

OK...and you dont make a salary?.......your not making ANY money off of the venture?......does the state regulate how much you can pay yourself for your time and effort or your "employees"??... whos the "corporation" and whos the CEO?...
look man, lets just let the issue drop. people can draw their own conclusions from the figures and prices. i honestly dont believe your not making butt loads of money at the prices your charging, you know and i know you are.
whenever you decide youd like to open up a "collective" in shasta county, be sure and let me know. id come and manage it for ya. id love to have a few of those $50K + paydays myself. i can use a new cabin cruiser, and another harley

Shasta, I still have not been paid back all of my initial investment. I am getting paid a salary, but believe me it is well below $50K a year.

id let the issue drop. i happen to know someone whos bought pot from someone there at your place WITHOUT a recommendation (quite a bit of smoke actually) , and they came from inside your place ,and sold right outside your front door. i grew up in sac and have TONS of friends there that smoke.
point being, your place aint as "legal" as youd love everyone to believe
