America The Great
I'm sick of both sides. The dingbats who think the US is evil and the dingbats who think the US is perfect and can do no wrong.
Every country has it's flaws, it's problems. They're different to the context of the culture and the economic system. America is a such vast country, from place to place depending on economic prosperity, it's a vastly different. Go to a place like Northern Virginia. Even if your poor, your well off. Incredible, well-managed government services. Then there is a place like Flint, MI, incredibly poor, economic depression, poor government services. There are have places like this all across America.
I understand your point that the people who complain about it are usually in the well off catagory. This diminishes the message that there are some serious economic and social problems in some areas in America. However another message is out there, America is great and can do no wrong. The extremes of these 2 messages is like a see-saw, you keep going but it makes everyone forget about the issues, the real ones. Messages like America is great cover up our problems and distort the truth. Messages like America sucks because of blah blah blah diminishes the interest in tackling serious issues. Back and forth over and over again.
