If it gets to a point that you would have to "single out" people in here I think a person should think about getting a life.
It's always an easy cop out to state something on that order when there is a ban but I can't see that being a normal thing. IF I ban a person and they send me an e-mail stating that they either had a bad day, frustrated in a thead and finally let loose, something explainable, I change it up to either a lower ban or just dropping it all together. Send an e-mail though stating what an facist asshole I am and it'll probably be a different story.
My major point of moderation in here is in the politics forums. I've been told that I seem to pick on the left wing a bit more but when 98% of posters are from a certain affiliation, it's kind of a given that more of that group would be moderated percentage wise. LOL...our top right winger would definately confirm though that I've chased him into another site to state that things better lighten up or else. I can also think of two others off the top of my head that have also been in the spot light for different terms.
I like to think of myself as an equal opportunity asshole.:D

Favorites? Certainly not, but if you are a habitual grouch I'm going to remember.
I try to be really fair - if a user gets a warning, infraction, or ban, there was a good reason, and I expect them to take it with enough dignity not to try and sneak back in under a new account, or send me nasty emails (or have their AUNT do it, lol!).
If it gets personal, I'll sometimes even email another mod to double check that I'm not overreacting to something simply because I'm miffed.
Anyway.
I'm just a user here too. The less time I have to spend dealing with flame wars, the more time I can spend in the grow area troubleshooting your plants!
There are some mods on here that are great mods and even better people. Others, not so much.
Haha...yeah...you already said that.Quote:

This "POWER" accusations usually developes in the first few weeks, month of a new mod. Reason why? Members that feel that THEY deserved that position come in riding the new mods ass and when they finally get spanked, they cry "POWER TRIP!".
Next time I get pulled over by a cop I think I'm gonna say something on the order of "Hey buddy, I'm a moderator on a cannabis site! Maybe you don't know it but I pull alot of weight around these parts!" Isn't that kind of what people of "real" power do?
Also, if we didn't give infractions or bans because of rule violations, Sundance would be questioning why the hell we are even moderators in here.
The circle of life:
The mods moderate the members, Sundance moderates the mods, the advertisers (who's money supports this site) moderates Sundance to a point, and the members moderate the advertisers in either sales or lack of. So who really has the power? I'd say the members do.......

You know P4B you probably wouldn't get pulled over by the cops as much if you didn't have that big bumper sticker that said "I'm a Can.Com Mod so Phhhhhhhhhh" ;)
Actually, OLDE ENGLISH '800 made me up a t-shirt with Modfather on it. That'll show them boys who's boss huh?:lol5:

HAHA weedhound, that cracked me up...
I saw some kid with NORML stickers all over his car the other day... I agree supporting NORML, but putting more than one sticker on your car, and cops are gonna be getting to know you quite well.
