Ive always wanted to buy a horse, I think in the long run its cheaper, and my environmentally friendly than a car. But im not sure how my dealer would feel if I strolled up to his house and left Poncho tied to his light pole...

Is it cool to ride around on a horse blazed? that sounds like fun
Poncho....I miss that horse... :D It WOULD be extremely inconspicuous don't you think? Really who's going to notice the drugs when everybody is busy looking at the horse?
Yeah seriously! Plus I dont think I could get a DUI on a horse, I mean Im not driving it, its got a mind of its own.Quote:

Yes, if you can trust the horse.....I had one...(still have her...retired) who bucked me off 7 times.....just because she thought it was funny.:wtf: Then when I was finally able to beat her at that game she got into the habit of turning around and biting me on the knee when she got mad. It was a long LONG time before I got on that horse after toking but eventually...... now....alot (easier horse. ;))
And if you get on them and don't steer or anything they'll automatically start heading home. :thumbsup:Quote:

Hey Weedhound... check out this sexy fella. When I finally get my ass up the Vermont and pick up a nice little chunk of land, I'll be looking at getting a nice Belgian or Belgian cross. I love the sweet draft horse personality. And this guy is a LOOKER too.
damn stinky you can draw pretty good, +rep for u
peace out TjM
Aww shucks, thanks!
Here's our girl that we had for years....lost her about 2 years ago. I LOVE the draft horses.....all of them......any of them....
the temperament is unbeatable in the "gentle giants" and as for riding them.....it's like being on a big moving couch.
You know what's coming right?
THAT BEING SAID.......IF you get one keep in these things in mind (and they ALL relate to the size of the animal)
1. Special sized saddle or no saddle
2. special sized blanket etc...often have to special order unless you are lucky enough to live next to a tack store that caters to the drafts.....we weren't
3. Special sized bit, bridle and halter, again usually having to hunt for such items.
4. Eats LOTS.....does everything in LOTS
5. Special sized shoes and a special shoer who's willing to deal with the drafts (heavy horse....heavy shoe.....heavy work)
6. They'll fit in a standard sized 2 horse trailor IF it's extra tall and you don't have a middle......in other words.....SPECIAL TRAILER. They do NOT travel with other horses in a standard trailer.....they weigh too much and just plain take up too much room.
7. Make sure said horse has been trained as a riding horse.....not just to drive as many of them are.
