Help with diagnosis plz
Hey again, they were ready for watering again last night, i havn't had time to get down to salsbury so no ph metre yet so i just semi-flushed anyways with tapwater.. i say semi because i only got around 7 gallons in, it took like 25 mins to do this and going back and forth with a 4-litre jug didnt really go well with me.
so im gonna get one of those really big 10 or so gallon ones and use that instead, hopefully i can get a ph metre or some papers at least by then, i already picked up some sodium biphosphate to lower ph.
also yea, when i looked at the water that was drained off it had a orangish-brown tint, kinda like rust colored. so im gonna make a better contraption and get to them all hopefully, peace tx.

Yeah salt build up. Why don't you put your plants in you bathtub to flush them?

^that works really well. Put them in the tub, water about halfway up the pot or higher for about half an hour. After that, they will be super easy to flush since the soil has already leached its shit into the tub. It really loosens up the salts...you think the runoff water looks bad now, wait til u soak them.

You guys, I can not stress this enough...most problems involving spotting leaves, slow growth, and general unhealthy appearance is from the PH. Please get yourselves a cheap and easy test kit (see my recent pic for an example) and test your tap water. It's very important you narrow down or define the problem before attempting a fix.

You're totally right. pH problems=salt buildup. They go hand in hand. Flushing is the first step, to get rid of the salts. Next step is to control the pH, now that there's a clean slate (soil, lol) to work with.

yo, sry 4 the late reply, yea, the dying trend seems to have slowed from my semi-flush earlier, however, i got a ph-tester kit today and was displeased to find my water is like 7+ so yea, gotta adjust that.
Hmm put them in a filled tub for half an hour then flush? Never heard of that on, i could see why it would work though, it seems to me like it would be more stressful on them, but i think ill try it.

got back from wal-mart/the grocery store an hour ago, i didnt wanna do that thing in my bath tub so i got 3 rubbermaid containers, im gonna fill them up and 'loosen the salts' like u said and then flush, should work good  also i got one of those big natural water jugs, i think im gonna save it for the last part of the flushing.
