find an old 6 v adapter from phone,computer gadget,shaver,drill,etc
i got a box full o crap like that in the basement.

Heya MS,
I had the very same idea but have a slightly different design to squeeze as much light in there as possible.
All I did was swap the direction of the lights, basically double the intensity for the same area.
