Have you ever been told by your partner to stop smoking pot?

smoking weed retards emotional growth... anything done habitually becomes a "coping mechanism" the last thing you want is WEED to become your coping mechanism..

for 2 main reason..
1. it cost to much
2. nothing OUTSIDE yourself should be a coping mechanism..

we must be the master of our mind.. not the other way around...

So I switched to guitar for my coping mechanism. Every night, instead of smoking a J, I call my girlfriend up and play her guitar for half an hour or so. I sing too.

It makes her pass out, and I'm so tired from singing that I go to sleep too.

I like this coping mechanism better than weed.

Well, my idea on it is... If that girl can honestly not accept me for what I am, and what I do... She isn't worth it. Not to mention, the second someone says something uninformed or ignorant about weed, I usually am automatically un-attracted... well, at least emotionally.:pimp:

its not that i left them cause they wanted to "control" me, its just that if they dont like me smoking, they dont like me for who i am.

basically... before probation she was an even bigger pot head than i am (this was before we got together) she still thinks its cool an shit she jus dont/cant do it, i've seen her get 2 shotguns one time when she was drunk thats as far as i can say on the weed usage

havent been told,, but thats something i do and am very upfront about,, so if they hated weed, theyd never get with me in the first place cuz theyd already know i smoke.

my girlfriend won't let me smoke weed. the first month or two she didnt say much about it. but after that she wanted me to quit. i quit for a month or two, then she started to back off, she didnt discuss it with me as much, because most of our friends are stoners as well, the topic is brought up frequently, and now, almost 6 months together, i keep it from her that i secretly toke, and i feel like a shitty boyfriend for going behind her back about it.

i wouldnt be able to go behind my gf's back about it.. id just say hey this is me ;// i love the ganja.. take it or leave it. maybe a bit harsh but she knows i smoke! if she didnt want it she shouldnt have gotten with me first off.

Yep...I just told her to get fucked..She didn't mean that much to me. But we stayed together and I just didn't smoke around her. Stayed together for another 4-5 months.
Tip: Use mints, Get some eyedrops. Try not to giggle ur tits off at anything. :p

this girl i was dating at one time never came out and asked me to quit smoking weed, but she guilted me into feeling like i should.... she used to say: i always thought i was the perfect drug. that one used to get me. i never quit smoking weed, and we stopped being together. i regret not smoking now. she was a lot better to me than weed was. eg: weed got me arrested, she got me off.

Once a GF told me it was either weed or her. I said bye. Not to be a dick, but NO girlfriend ever made me feel good like MJ. And Ill never leave her. Through the good and bad, I stand by her. One girlfreind didn't smoke but said she could tell the difference between me sober and high, and she said she prefered me to smoke if sober I was THAT depressed.

i quit for one maybe two girls, it all depends.

im not desperate enough to date anyone who is trying to change me, and if they cant understand or sympathize with my (seemingly unique) perspective on marijuana, then ill just find someone else to be with. i have no problem getting girls.....

but like i said, ive quit for at least one i can remember. it all depends on why they want me to (because 'its bad, mkay'), how long i think itll last, and how how she is.

I know in young relationships, you tend to not change any of your personal habits for a relationship, but I also know that when you're getting into a serious relationship, both partners tend to have to give up bad habits or other nuances to support the relationship.

Can anyone relate?
